This was by far the most frustrating game the whole season for me. They should have put up at least 3 runs...probably 4 or 5. Thanks for blowing another gem by Cappy guys!!

Welcome to third place and below .500 baseball. It will be a long time before we see the sunny side of .500 again. What a crappy way to end what started as a great homestand...and of course the last two games were in front of huge crowds.

Ned Yost needs a head CT. I am sure he has some sort of brain damage. How can you sit there and lose with Overbay and Branyan unused? PINCH FRICKIN HIT FOR MILLER! He is the worst double play risk on the team and you decide to let him hit with Lyle sitting there. Nice freakin managing. Ned flat out sucks. I am more convinced of that every day. There is no way you let Miller hit there. Moeller can catch the remainder if needed. You have to give your best players a chance to win the game. Total BS.

Branyan sucks. The only thing that guy does is strikeout. The only good thing about him PH-ing for Miller is that we would have been guaranteed to see Hall hit with two outs instead of a GIDP.

If Miller had gotten the job done?? No fault to Carlos Lee?? He popped up weakly both times he was needed. The whole offense stunk it up this game, and this should have been a win. Oh well...off to face a very good San Diego team...at least we have pretty favorable pitching matchups there...aside from Peavy vs Obie.

We wouldn't be talking about a loss had we played fundamental baseball in the first. Second and third, no outs, and we don't score?! All you need is a ground ball to the right side and a fly ball. No hits are needed and it's two automatic runs!

 

I know we were playing for the big inning but I've seen to many opportunities go by without any runs being scored. How about some small ball with men on base???

Amen, scoop. Either one of those would have been better than Miller in that situation. This game reminds me of why I can't stand Ned Yost. However, at least he didn't do any stupid bunting with his best hitters, so I commend him for that.

Branyan has fewer home runs than Brady Clark. Seriously, is he really "one of your best players"? C'mon Scoop, as Craig Kilborn would say, you're better than that.

 

Overbay has looked like crap for two weeks...so I'm not convinced he was a better option, either.

 

As far as I'm concerned, Butch Wynegar should have to take each one of the horrific schlepps that picked up a bat this weekend up to Ben Sheets and Chris Capuano to offer personal apologies. Then they should do the same thing with the 72,000 or so paying customers the last two games.

 

And then Junior Spivey and Chad Moeller should be sent to the Schaumburg Flyers where they belong.

Clark has more than twice the at bats as Branyan has had this season, so Clarks having more home runs shouldn't be relavent.

 

Leaving Overbay and Branyan on the bench is a huge mistake in my opinion. And yes, Branyan is one of our better players.
