5/31/2004 - Brewers (Wise) vs. Dodgers (Perez)

Posted

Baseball tonight is on espn 2 and they are giving updates on the brewers game as they happen. Grabowki hit a tough pitch to score the tying run. Well its time for bonus baseball.

On a side note baseball tonight just gave about 2 minutes of love to the brewers saying they think this isn't a fluke and they will continue playing respectablely.

Dan Kolb needs to be traded.

Soon.

With his inability to strike anyone out, I predict this will be the first of many blown saves this year.

Baseball Tonight just showed a clip of Nick Neugebauer striking out Adam Everett. Talk about weird. It was a short piece about Everett's emergence as a good shortstop, and the clip didn't last more than 5 seconds, but it was cool/surprising/odd to see Neugy again.

And Jason, I agree. Check out the Adams thread for more.

Are Brewer fans trying to top the "sweep suit jinx"? We got someone chalking up win 26 prematurely here, and a guy on the ESPN board posted "game over" as Kolb was trotting in.

I don't think he's available today. Probably just Burba and Bennett left, with Adams and Kiesch only in emergencies.

...espn just tried again to be nice to Mil again. Kruk, however, totally devalued his opinion by saying how hot podsednik was.

Anyway....brewers lose... Nice work boys!!!

BTW, any reason Kieschneck wasn't used with a man on?

depends on how you view it. Which is your best chance for a hit off Gagne, a hard-swinger or a slapper who is comfortable w/2 strikes. I guess I could argue for either.

Right, but why didn't he hit?

Duh... yeah, you're right. Thought you were talking about pitching.

Freaking world. This game sucked. I'm unpleased.

ARGH.

This is going to be a very different looking team when this road trip is over.

Sorry to say it, but unless the offense gets its head out of its ass, I could easily see this being a 2-7 road trip.

like i said before the game, all they had to do is score 3 times and they will win 2 out of 3. Had they scored 3 they would have won in regulation.

This game was...

...base, contemptible, degraded, dejected, deplorable, destitute, dishonorable, downtrodden, fawning, forlorn, groveling, hang dog, hopeless, humbling, humiliating, low, miserable, outcast, pathetic, pitiable, pitiful, servile, squalid, stark, submissive, underfoot, worthless, wretched.

Thanks Thesaurus.com.

Which word is your favorite to describe today's loss? I think I'll go with wretched.

still, it requires Grabowski to hit a ball that was nearly in the dirt to tie the game. I feel good about our chances the rest of the trip, just need to find a way to get 4 runs a game.
