YutakaEnatsu....

Thank you for your astute insights....are you one of those people who only allow 'homers' into your house where they say nothing but good things about the home team regardless of how careless or ineffectively they are playing?

I try to "keep it real." When the team is going good I'm the first person there to cheer them on, but when they're bad, I'm not going to live in a fantasy land and say "oh, it's okay..."

I think people like you who do not like to hear the negatives are like adding fuel to the fire for accepting and tolerating mediocrity. By never holding the team to high standards like I do, all you do is make losing okay. Sorry, It's not okay in my book.

Who's that in the Mets dugout? Tony La Russa?? He bats Benson and then pulls him for a relief pitcher the next inning?

This game thread would be so much better if those of you that are arguing could IM each other or something... Some of these "commentaries" take up alot of space... Just a thought...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

bucksman, I think its your method of voicing your displeasure, rather than your means. As someone said eariler, seeming happy (even though we all know you aren't) when the home team falters, and writing off the game as a loss in the 3rd inning usually pisses off even the most casual fan. As you can tell, the majority of us here aren't casual. We're feeling the same frustration you are, but rather than lose all hope, we prefer to keep it.

Not that I feel strongly either way on the issue... but what's the point of a fan holding the team to a "high standard"? That just seems like it leads to higher blood pressure.

I used to live and die with the team, riding the highs and getting violently angry on the lows... but it's much easier to ride high on the highs, and just see the lows for what they are.

Ahh, the self-actualized baseball fan. So many never achieve that high level.

Leaving Benson in to bunt is pretty easy to defend, IMO. Why use a bench player in the 5th inning to put your team up by 1 or even just move the runner over when your pitcher can move the runner over? Made sense to me.

I see your point, I forgot....they have pitchers that can properly lay down the bunt.....silly me.

Way to put it into perspective for me there...that's true. It's easier said than done, but it's true.

I'm feeling a good omen by the way as I saw your total post number reached 1982....a great year.
