Cubs at Giants later tonight.....

Meanwhile, Game 1 of a DH at Baltimore, in the 9th inning it's Texas 26, Balt 3. Texas is still batting and has men on.

It's 30-3.

Think the O's have a 27-spot in them to rally back?

30 runs in a game is a new modern day MLB record, according to BBTN.

The 7-8-9 hitters were 13-19 with 14 R, 4 HR and 16 RBI.

That Texas game has easily one of the best box scores I've seen in a while. Two guys with 7 RBI...the eight and nine hitters. Who knows, if Texas can put up 30, why can't the Brewers sweep a team on the road?

Per Baseball Almanac, the all-time record for runs in a game is 36, by the Chicago Colts at home against Louisville on 29 June 1897. What's just as interesting, I think, is that the game was the fifth of a 43-game homestand. They made up for it by playing 39 of their last 41 games on the road. Not till this moment did I know that 1897 baseball was THAT different.

Watching the Cubs broadcast, they were saying the Cubs may have Soriano back for the Brewers series next week. Cubs currently have a scoring opportunity in the 8th in a 2-2 game.

cubs/giants going into extra innings. for the brewers sake, hopefully they play about 23 innings and both teams are dead tired for the next week or so.

boy, Cubs pitchers sure like to talk when they get K's--Zambrano, Marmol, Dempster all come to mind as guys who mouth off as they head to the dugout.

I realize that this is sometimes to pump you up and sometimes just to be a jerk. But either way, I've rarely seen any Brewers do that this season (or many other seasons either). Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Way to suck, Misch. Unfortunately it will be a miracle if the Cubs don't score in this inning.

Good job tanking, Giants. Now don't go all plays-of-the-week on us this weekend.

well, that's the thing, they're going to stink and have all the bounces not go their way this series but when we roll into town it'll be a complete changeover of the luck gods.

Yeah, I'm sure. This scrub on the mound will come in and actually throw strikes against us, Rich Aurilla won't boot balls, and of course Randy Winn will catch anything hit to him.

Yeah.. I'm bitter about the Cubs. This is probably better served in the vent thread. I actually went to look up how many wins they have when trailing after 7 innings last night but couldn't find it. My guess was they have at least 7-10 wins when trailing after 7, or at least it seems that way, lol.
