Super Mario Galaxy is this year's must have for any Wii Owner

Zelda Twilight Princess is pretty good

Super Mario is also a good game.

Next year tho...

Super Smash Bros Brawl is expected to be the game of the year.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is a great game....but it's a bit of a niche game. (It's a direct sequel to the GameCube predecessor.)

Have Super Mario Galaxy, but haven't actually played it yet.

Get on it now. SMG is like Super Mario 64 only in space.

I concur with GH3 and Super Mario Galaxy as being highly recommended. The bigs is fun for about 2 weeks and then it has nothing to offer. Madden is fun in short doses but more of an arcade game than on other systems. NBA Live is terrible, trust me.

Does anyone have or has anyone played the Sonic vs. Mario Olympics.

All I heard was that I would not need to go to the gym if I bought it. It also helps to have a case of Gatorade or a beer ready for afterwards.

May seem obvious, but the Wii Play game pack seems to be basically a mandatory buy, because it includes an extra Wiimote thingy.

I think that it's a common purchase, but I wouldn't say 'manditory.' The mini-games aren't as good as Wii Play, and they didn't seem to have a ton of replay value to them.

I'm not advocating that gamers ignore Wii Play altogether (it's not SSX Blur-bad), but if you're looking to save $10, just buy an extra controller without the game.

Which brings up another question: are there any games that you absolutely recommend people avoid paying good money for?

I have it. It's a lot of fun in multiplayer mode. It's so-so if you have just 1 player. To run in a race like the 100 meter dash or hurdles, you shake the Wiimote and nunchuck as if you are drumming. My arms were sore after playing for a couple of hours.

Call of Duty. I rented it and found the aiming system to just be terrible. I heard that was really improved on Metroid.

Zelda so far looks pretty similar to Ocarina of Time. Mind you I haven't played to far into the game.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

If your a music fan, Guitar Hero 3 is a must have and I know I'll probably get bashed for this but the new American Idol Karaoke game is a blast to play with a bunch of people. To hear Simon rip on your friends is great. Some great songs on both games.
