"A Day That Will Live in Infamy" Let's not forget this day 66 years ago. I suggest anyone who ever has the chance to go to Hawaii to go see Pearl Harbor and the memorial. I've seen it once and the hair on my neck stood up...its something that you can't even put into words stands on a memorial with a sunken ship beneath you with thousands of men that died for this country. I'm going back to Hawaii in January and will pay my respects once again

I went there in December of 2005. It was quite the experience. If you do go I would recommend going extremely early, otherwise you will be waiting for a long time. It is definetly worth it to go out there and see the memorial. Their is still oil leaking up to the surface. I wish they would make a Pearl Harbor movie that would actually do the event justice, not the garbage with Ben Affleck in it

Probably the only good thing that came from me purchasing that movie was that it came with a very good documentary done by the History Channel on Pearl Harbor. I definitely have to go there and see the memorial first hand one day

Very good movie.

I got to see the memorial when I was around 15 yrs old, it was a very humbling experience. I was taken by my grandparents, my grandfather served on a destroyer in the years shortly after the war had ended. I think that is the only day I remember him not saying a word since I have known him. I look forward to going back someday to Hawaii and it will be a stop on the vacation for me as well.

One of the 3 biggest days of US history in the past 100 years.

Not to sidetrack the thread, but I'm honestly curious- obviously we know what one of the other 2 is, but what's the third?

Throwing out for thought: July 16, 1945 (though it doesn't jump right out of the memory bank).

Trinity Test near Alamogordo, New Mexico ushers in the "atomic age." A-Bomb successfully detonated, fulfilling the purpose of the Manhattan Project. United States wins the nuclear race, beating both Germany and the USSR. Major step in ushering in the Cold War.

My thought was Hawing's, and kudos for the proper phrasing as well.

I would probably say Ndogg's was 5th, and I'd argue for 6-6-44 being #4.

That said, there's probably more than one answer to the question.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
