Jens Lekman, Night Falls Over Kortedala

Interesting sound. I like it a lot. It's much different than normal indie-pop, with some heavy sampling being at the forefront of most songs..

no disrespect intended, but how can anyone argue the integrity of an artist when his/her music contains heavy sampling?

I can listen to a lot of stuff, but sampling is a blatant ripoff, and to me, shows a lack of creativity or talent for that matter.

just an opinion, not intended to spark bad blood in any way.

You wouldn't even know it was samples unless you were told upfront. And it's not all samples, he plays plenty of instruments, too.

Jens Lekman has serious creativity/talent. That album is terrific.

No loud guitars, though.

we'll have to agree to disagree man. That does not sound like my type of tunage.

I just got done listening to Black Sabbath, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, now THAT is some serious jams!

I'm a Pearl Jam fan, will check into that one asap! Been wanting to listen to that, you have inspired me...

Kanye West uses samples and is one of the most critically-acclaimed hip hop artists of this generation. I suppose we will have to agree to disagree though. = )

do hip-hop and artist even belong in the same sentance?

Coheed and Cambria - No World for Tomorrow.

They've been my favorite band for years. Ive had that CD in my truck since it came out late October.

Just saw them at the Pabst Theater a week or so ago.

Saw them at the warped tour this past summer.

Saw them at the Rave last winter.

Saw them at summerfest the summer before last.

It's hard to say who I like better... Brew Crew or Coheed and Cambria.

Do you mean the show at the Riverside? I was there, good times. I was there mostly for Jimmy Eat World though and Shiny Toy Guns.

Daft Punk, Discovery

The Field, From Here We Go Sublime

Both are excellent electronica/dance CD's. They really make me want to get up and start raving. Haha.

"From Here We Go Sublime" - the eponymous track from that CD - was one of my favorite tracks of the year. I have a slight bit of difficulty getting into the album overall, though it is wonderful to listen to. "Discovery" is one of the better albums of the 21st century.

Jimmy Buffett and the Bee Gees are on something called "We Will Rock You"?

And this is in my CD player today, a classic to me:

Yeah I don't exactly know how they arrange the artists and songs onto the CD's. For example I'm looking at another CD from the same collection and we have everything from the Beach Boys to Sonny and Cher and Elvis to Jimi Hendrix. So maybe they just like to give a good variety.

My absolute favorite Beck albums and one of my favorite albums of the last ten years.

today I listened to SHOTGUN MESSIAH "second coming" on my commute to work.

Great album!

That is the problem with today's music the way I see it, artists don't work on an album, they work on singles. I like the album concept, 10 good songs, not 1 or 2 hits and the rest filler garbage.

The Cars - Candy-O, classic classic album!

Listened to Iron Maiden - "X Factor" on the way to work today, a lot of Maiden fans do not like the guy singing on this one, but I find it most enjoyable...
