  1. What about before, during, or after the Red Sox series? After we got swept there I didn't think there was a chance at the playoffs. This is disappointing to see them losing for sure, but at least they still have a lead in the WC (for now).
  2. Gwynn, at this point in his career, is simply more of a battler than either of those three options. Neither of those three have proven they can battle like Tony can.
  3. This made me lol. I was chuckling about making a post on here calling for Gwynn's first MLB HR. But then thought better of it.
  4. Seriously Riske? Well dlk9s, your avatar finally got to me. After seeing it all this time I finally tried to whisk that bug off my computer screen. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  5. Did Hart just miss a HR there? On the gameday tracker it looks like the ball was right on the wall.
  6. Favorites: Cheese Corner in Viroqua for subs. Great subs, haven't tried the one in LaCrosse yet but I wouldn't think it would be all that different For pizza I really liked Sam's in Wausau. I haven't been there in a really long time so I have no idea if it's even open anymore. I haven't been blown away by any steak places, usually when I go out it's not for steak. La Hacienda in Madison is/was awesome. After bar time we would go there a lot, there were always friendly with us. Edit - forgot the worst. I hate Country Kitchen, it doesn't matter where it is. Pretty much any chain type breakfast restaurant I dislike.
  7. Jim Edmonds has been one of my least favorite players for a real long time. I HATE the way he plays outfield, routinely making catches look tougher than they are, and when he catches the ball after a dive or slide or long run he acts like he's hurt. He'll get up real slow and take his sweet time throwing the ball back to the infield. Hey Jim.. if you're too sore to do that kind of thing anymore, get out of the game! I hate virtually every Cub too. Pujols is a whiny jerk.
  8. I actually believe it was halfway or so into last season (or was it the season before?). I'm fairly certain it was a midseason type firing though.
  9. Is his younger brother TJ? I used to play legion baseball against a Gillitzer all the time from '01 - '03.
  10. You make it seem as if tipping generously is a bad thing.
  11. I almost always leave a tip for anyone, vendors at stadiums (when I would go to games, I'm geographically challenged right now), I tip people who cut my hair, and of course deliverers of food. I usually give them a pretty good tip because I appreciate them allowing ME to be lazy. I've never really been stingy with money so if a good tip can make someone's night go a little better, so be it.
  12. Viroqua High School class of '03. Colors were black and orange, and when I was there we were the Blackhawks. But now I think they're simply: Hawks. No famous alumni really, an astronaut, but no sports players.
  13. Craig, woo! Knocks one through the infield. I can't believe I'm this excited about a ground ball single to RF.
  14. I guess that ball 4 pitch was a little high?
  15. It looked outside to me, this umps zone is pretty shoddy.
  16. Part of my uniform, the stupid new Air Force's version of the Army uniform. These would be the worst possible things to wear in 100+ degree weather. They're about as thick as jean jackets. You'd think there is a war going on in an urban terrain in Siberia or something. In any case, the digital tiger stripe is pretty cool.
  17. There's no way to know if TGJ is a good rally starter. His mediocre OBP suggests he's not really that great at starting a rally. TGJ really doesn't have much of a place on this team, none of his skills are above average IMHO.
  18. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif I was just waiting for the next Counsell comment, and this was funny as can be. Solid usage of battle and grit, sir. Now seriously, c'mon Bush, battle out there and get out of this jam!
  19. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Unfortunately, that seems to be the case.
  20. I'm kind of PO'd about this thread. When the Brewers win, there is nothing to complain about, so a thread is started to complain about the fans. There always has to be something to complain about I guess. I am one of the "sarcastic posters" on the IGT, mainly just because it's amusing to me to not take it so seriously. I give credit where credit is due, and I voice my opinion when I disagree with something. Yet, it comes off as being pessimistic. I don't think there is really a right or wrong way to be a fan, some have different feelings because of the dismal second halves of the season that the Brewers have had in recent seasons and it causes them to be uneasy on a game to game basis. At least thats what it seems like on the IGT.. always wondering when it might happen. Not saying I think this way because I think this team is obviously better than those in recent years.
  21. Goodnight all, it's 12:00 am here, and I have to be up early. I tried to stay up for this game, but the danged Brewers just don't seem to want to win. Good luck Brewers.
  22. Hall just tried his best to jack that up, but Fielder bails him. Thanks Princy.
  23. What NSBB might not have taken into consideration is that Eric Gagne pitched. Because he threw, we should get a pass.
