  2. Let's sweep the Braves!
  3. Don't forget the token half inning in the broadcast booth with BA & Rock
  4. #1 - Saladino is a better hitter and defender than Sogard. Saladino makes Sogard pointless. #2 - No one is celebrating Sogard the human losing his job. #3 - He is getting a $2.3 million dollar severance. He'll be okay. You make it sound like his factory got shut down and he's got to come home and figure out how to make the next mortgage payment. #2 + #3... he isn't losing his job. He's free to accept an assignment to AAA like he did the last time he was DFA'd. And if he plays well he could earn his way back to the 25-man.

  6. Hah. Is your wife a fan of 'The Simpsons'? Because it sounds like she's getting Keon Broxton confused with Kent Brockman. I vote we start calling him Kent Brockman. This is awesome.
  7. Ok, back to a civil discussion please. Both sides have had their say. Happy thoughts folks!
  8. Bump for this thread. Lowrie has continued to hit well, & sits at a slash line of .293/.355/.502/.857. He's three HRs away from setting a career high with about half the season left to play. He's still my favorite target for a bat to add*. Oakland is winning, but pretty far off the pace in the AL. And Lowrie's contract is very team friendly. Curious to hear what others think it would cost to get him. *EDIT: Specifically, compared to Dozier, I prefer Lowrie because he's a higher AVG, less boom-or-bust as a hitter. Not sure how they compare defensively... I think Lowrie's defensive metrics show what you might expect age 34 -- makes the routine plays but doesn't offer a lot in terms of range.
  9. This about had me in tears. And Miller's wry smile after hearing that he cracked up the entirety of Miller Park was fun, too.
  10. Me! Positive juju Oh the drama! Just need that half of a run now & we're out of here with the W!
  11. [head-shaking while speaking intensifies]
  12. He had a mediocre April, awesome May, & fairly pedestrian June. Hopefully he can build some consistency at the plate. Seems like the other skills are there.
  13. Oh nooooooo - Nate! I thought he'd gotten it off the bat. Man! So close. Really good AB.
