  1. Still waiting on those conference lists from you. Otherwise, please just stop talking about the Big Ten.
  2. http://www.comedycentral.com/tosh.0/files/2009/12/2012.jpg
  3. per a Pete Abraham tweet (former Yankees beat writer, now covering the BoSox)
  4. Latest I can find (via MLBTradeRumors) is this --
  5. Lots of guys in camp = Bad teams Except that you're wrong. 2009 Yankees NRI list. 20 players.
  6. You consistently tear down one team & conference, with no facts to back up your argument. Basically, it seems that unless a team is NBA-caliber, you 'don't think they will make that deep of a run' Who are the teams you like & see doing well? All we've heard so far is vague references. When asked to list the teams you had as better than UW in the major conferences, you completely ducked. I smell a BF.net bracket-off a-comin'...
  7. Hey, who would've though you'd come trolling back tonight?
  8. That site is awesome... but then again I love baseball history/unis/logos And it does indeed have the "Home to Heroes" patch http://www.sportslogos.net/images/logos/54/64/thumbs/uon1b2tz3hwr17f1gk29ylaru.gif
  9. Another consideration is that with all of the Prince getting fat and old/ becoming Mo Vaughn talk, he has been much more durable than Mauer over the past few years. 1B & C really don't compare well at all. And if Mauer breaks down at 30, he gets moved to 1B/DH, or where Fielder already plays.
  10. So by that logic I guess hot dogs are more popular in NY because the last time I was there I paid like $6 for a crappy street vendor dog that costs about $3 in Madison. No -- they just love hot dogs more than Madisonians, and deserve them more! EDIT: And for the record, I responded with some eye-rolling at that ridiculous post on the Yankees forum. To the credit of the rest of the posters there, no one has taken issue with my post.
  11. For a couple of guys in their mid-60s, Daltrey & Townsend sure rocked. I don't get what everyone's so annoyed with -- I mean, what were you expecting?
  12. Seconded. There was easily 8 points left on the table by Bucky tonight. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! Tip of the hat to Illinois, though. They shot very well all game. However, I'm so sick & tired of seeing Badgers defenders misplay the pick-&-roll. Ever since the Purdue game in West Lafayette, that's all teams seem to be running on us... and our defenders refuse to fight through the screen, or step out to buy time for the guard/wing to recover from the screen (depending on big/small position). Dear Bo Ryan, the pick-&-roll is as basic as it gets. Please correct what you haven't been able to correct in four straight games now. Love, TLB. The guy actually played tonight (entered the game with 14:25 remaining in the first half). He was limping, but managed to get to the foul line 11 times (hit 8 of them). He didn't shoot well, but scored 12 points. I really, really, really, really, really want it to be time for Leuer to return. He's exactly what was missing in tonight's game for UW.
  13. I believe the following is correct... if a player doesn't have 5 years of MLB service time, & he clears waivers, he's assigned to AAA (or wherever). If a player has 5 yrs. MLB service time & clears waivers, he can opt for FA or accept the assignment. I don't believe that there's any time (even in the offseason) when a player without options doesn't have to clear waivers to be sent to the minors -- unless it's on a rehab assignment.
  14. Why? What is that kind of statement based on? Because he turned down an extension offer a while ago?
  15. Just read a post at another fan forum that I know people will just absolutely love. In a thread titled, "Does it matter that the Yankees keep buying pennants?": Excuse me while I vomit
  16. I know it's a pretty love 'em/hate 'em group, but I personally think Dave Matthews Band would be a great choice
  17. Link It really doesn't sound like Lucas is all that close. If I had to bet on game by which he'd return, it'd be 2/21 v. OSU
  18. The end result, since -- once again -- all I'm talking about is April, is him making three combined starts against STL & CHN instead of two. I really don't see why you're taking it so seriously.
  19. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3008/2407385757_00a338def3.jpg How could anyone not like you? Funny, thoughtful, and down-to-earth. Best of luck in baseball & in life, Big Red. And I love how he burns up Coffey so badly. Hilarious.
  20. Ditto to that, twobrewers. As best I can find, he's a guy that could touch the mid-90s with regularity as a reliever, or operate in the 90-93 range as a starter. I'd recommend this Indians Prospect Insider article on Lofgren, and I don't think it's been linked here yet (dated 2/6/09). It also includes some video. Sounds like the perfect type of candidate to work in a Peterson program.
  21. I think it's pretty asinine to say that tattoos should factor in when selecting a Super Bowl halftime performer
  22. Smoltz made four good starts & three bad starts with the Cards. I agree that it's hard to say whether or not Duncan or Smoltz fixed anything.
  23. Is going every 4th day in Yo's best interests though? 4 days' rest, not every 4th game... especially since that would mean three starts in April combined against STL & CHC. I didn't say I wanted Macha to stick with that all year long.
  24. I've got a 360, so i am stuck with 2k. 2k9 SUCKED, really, really, really bad. The reviews i have read say 10 is much better, but it would have to be, as there is nothing near the horrible pile of excrement that was 2k9. I'm pretty sure the hype around '09 said it was way better than '08, too
