  1. Is it 5:00 CDT where you live? Patience man. This move is obviously weird. I'm guessing it's for cash or an extremely low level prospect.
  2. The Padres have traded 7 of their top 12 prospects in the last 28 hours.
  3. Lame. He went for about what I thought he would.
  4. Looks like you're getting your wish. What are the odds San Diego deals Hosmer today? 99.999999999999999999999999%? Also, there was this earlier in the week, which is a baaaaad look for the Padres: https://www.gaslampball.com/2022/8/1/23287218/padres-1b-eric-hosmer-has-been-told-he-wont-be-traded
  5. They'll just work something else out if Hosmer stands firm.
  6. Yeah, Hosmer makes a ton of sense. That is a ton to give up (without regard to Hosmer), and I still love it for San Diego (assuming they can sign Soto).
  7. MLBTR also reporting there is one more major league player going to Washington.
  8. I was wondering how Washington accepted, but Gore wasn't included initially. Makes a lot more sense now.
  9. Gonna be fun eliminating them in the WC round.
  10. I see the Twins just gave up 4 pitchers for Jorge Lopez, including their 10th ranked prospect (by one list anyway). They get one more year of control, but that makes me feel better about what we gave up for Bush by comparison.
  11. Sorry, this cracks me up. You sitting on your couch stone-faced as Matt Bush wins the World Series for the Brewers. I understand your point, but that image just tickled me. As far as I'm concerned, I don't care much in the context of whether or not I"ll root for him. He's a Brewer. I'm rooting for him. I stomached K-Rod, I can stomach this guy. To each their own though obviously.
  12. Gimme Gallo, Bell & Joe Jimenez. I don't ask for much.
  13. Yeah, good point. Glad the Cardinals didn't get their hands on Montas.
  14. One domino has fallen. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/08/astros-to-acquire-trey-mancini.html
  15. Rich get richer. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/08/yankees-to-acquire-frankie-montas-lou-trivino.html
  16. I understand. I have him in fantasy so I was aware that he had played a lot of 2b. The OF is Agustin Ruiz, who is strictly an OF and not much of a prospect at all.
  17. And 60 (!) steals.
  18. I think you have the wrong Ruiz. https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trade-simulator/
  19. First Brewers trade in a long time where I'm not sure what to think.
  20. The SB numbers are eye-popping. Not sure how he fits. Edit: I guess they think he can play CF. RHH though.
  21. Well you've definitely seen him more than I have so I'll defer to you somewhat. If he can indeed become a .420+ slugging guy, he's far more valuable than I'm giving him credit for. I'm skeptical, but hoping you're right.

  23. --I know, but I seriously doubt we keep all of them next year. I think we trade 2 of them this offseason. --I didn't post that. I just quoted it. I don't think there's any real chance he hits like that, hence my indifference to trading him.

  25. Good post. To answer your last question, I think this is the last year we have all of Burnes, Woodruff and Hader. In short, despite the obvious problems, I think this is our best shot at a World Series. Hope to be wrong.
