  1. I don't really see the relevance of the 2014 team personally. This team has waaaaaaaaay more talent than that team.
  2. Yeah, I agree on the Tellez part. I also think we're going to have a DH next year. I don't have a ton of faith in Rowdy tbh, but if he continues to hit like this, this thread is moot. And, yes, 2 years, will edit. My bad.
  3. I know this is kind of weird timing, but I was just reading an MLBTR chat that mentioned how the A's will likely have to break up the team because of their huge arbitration class which includes Olson, Chapman, Bassitt, Manaea and 5 or 6 others. I've had my eye on Olson for a few years now, kind of hoping in a way that the Brewers could somehow get their hands on him. He has 3 years of arby left. Edit: Actually it's 2 years, thanks Reilly. Just hypothetically wondering what a package for Olson would look like. I'm sure it would be painful, but man would he slot nicely into this lineup. He is having a great season, had a great season in 2019 but sputtered in 2020 (which, personally, I kind of throw out). https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/o/olsonma02.shtml I'm thinking something like Turang+Ashby or Small+Feliciano? That feels light. I don't know if we could get it done without Mitchell. What do you guys think?
  4. This thread is hilarious.
  5. Possible? Sure. Incredibly unlikely though. Like, less than 1%.
  6. This. I think they do have better options. The alternative to Norris going forward is Gustave (he will likely be optioned once off COVID), Topa, or Sanchez (optioned when Houser comes off COVID). I think the reason Stearns acquired him was for depth. They didn't know if they could trust all these RH relievers we had with excellent but small sample results. I'm sure they thought he could be a decent reliever but he has not been. Its a small sample, sure, but we gave up a lot for a rental. Reece has been pitching very well for Detroit. I'm not ready to DFA him yet, but I'm close. An ineffective 3rd LH RP << Topa, Sanchez, or Gustave. I mean, yeah, if you think he won't improve, I agree. But I'd rather give him another month to try to figure it out. I believe he has a chance to be the most useful of the 4 in the long run (maybe Topa, but I believe he'll be given another chance soon). DFA'ing him now would be foolish (not you, the original post I quoted) when others have options. We are in a good position to be able to figure this out on the fly.
  7. The alternative to Norris would be Perdomo/Milner. Do you think they are better options? Certainly Norris hasn't had a good first few outings by any stretch, but shouldn't call for a DFA unless you are convinced one of those guys is better. I think we give Norris a few more chances before we cut ties. And he'll actually probably be easier to hide in the back of the bullpen once September rolls around if he doesn't figure it out before then. Regardless, this is a bit of a miss for Stearns at this point clearly unless something drastically changes. This.
  8. The Surprising Cause of Muscle Cramps — It’s Not Dehydration Yeah, I didn't understand that. I understand the cures/preventive steps they suggest, though, so drink some pickle juice, Brett! (yuk - it might not be worth it) Mmmmm......vodka/pickle juice......mmmmm
  9. I agree. If you had asked me on June 1st who had the better chance to win it all between the Brewers and Bucks, I'd have picked the Brewers. This is the most confident I've been in a Brewers team since 1982. And I believe this team is better-equipped for the playoffs than that one was.
  10. It is a massive reach...possible? Sure, but it is incredibly unlikely. Not only would they have to catch on fire, but they would need an epic collapse from us at the same time. Our 2018 run was massive and we needed a Game 163 to seal the deal. At this point in 2018 we were like 2-3 games down and the worst was 5 games back in early September (I think). That being said I hope the Cards still feel like they have a shot because they play the Reds 6 more times. Agree with the point. Brewers were 6 back on August 28th, 5 back on September 1, which was their largest deficit in September. The Brewers only lost a game in the standings 6 times in September (one was a half game on an off day), which is pretty amazing.
  11. Agree with everything you say here, but a Dodgers/Brewers NLCS feels inevitable to me, barring injury.
  12. I think you have a good point, he's probably the most talented pitcher in the NL...but I don't think he's gotten the clear best results in MLB. Workload certainly should matter in the CY young race. Agree with everything you say here. He's the most dominant pitcher in baseball in my opinion, but has virtually no shot to win the Cy Young.
  13. He struck out 10 in a row on 39 pitches. Incredible. And one ball was touched. Just the craziest thing I've ever seen.
  14. I thought that too until they showed it the 2nd time. It went right through him.
  15. Not important, but that 4th one was maybe the most homerific scoring decision I've ever seen.
  16. If they were given a chance to do a "takeback" on this deal, there's no chance the Brewers would.
  17. That wasn't autocorrect.
  18. Lol I don't even know who Henderson is.
  19. 1. Garrett Mitchell 2. Hedbert Perez 3. Brice Turang 4. Sal Frelick 5. Ethan Small 6. Aaron Ashby 7. Tyler Black 8. Joe Gray 9. Eduardo Garcia 10. Antoine Kelly 11. Mario Feliciano 12. Jefferson Quero 13. Zavier Warren 14. Jackson Chourio 15. Felix Valerio 16. Freddy Zamora 17. Russell Smith 18. Carlos Rodriguez 19. Alex Binelas 20. Jheremy Vargas 21. Dylan File 22. Korry Howell 23. Tristen Lutz 24. J'Von Ward 25. Luis Medina 26. Max Lazar 27. Thomas Dillard 28. Ernesto Martinez
  20. They’ll keep Strickland. Gustave and Reyes down now, Sanchez down when Yelich returns. Peterson DFA’d. Will be interesting to see what happens with Shaw and Vogelbach. Both probably get DFA’d too. No chance Peterson is DFA
  21. To me Curtiss is basically Feyereisen. Which is good. Very similar profile but I think Curtiss is better. Less walky.
  22. Why? Serious question. Yeah, there's really no reason to think it'll happen.
  23. Yes, it appears to be 1:1. All those catchers are paying off! Great deal imo.
  24. Very nice. Is it just Henry? MLBTR won't load for me.
