  1. Remind me how this works again. I'm not understanding why the player would have to have a huge contract. I thought a team could expose a player on waivers, but call him back if they didn't want to trade him to a certain team. Maybe I'm thinking of something else, but I recall stories where teams worked out a trade, but another team claimed the player earlier so the selling team took him back off waivers. Under that scenario, couldn't they potentially work out a trade for virtually any player out there? (Admitedly, this is a blind spot for me- I never remember how this process works.)
  2. Jesus shows too much emotion, Santana not enough, Cain always looks injured None of it means anything.
  3. HIGHLY doubtful... It's not the way CC rolls. Sorry but that's not really fair. CC has no problem with a starter going 7. It's been rare a starter is still pitching great into the 7th. Beyond that, most games have been close, so they need the PH. Finally, when it's a close call, you learn towards the strength of the team.... the pen.
  4. Arcia smoked a line out to 3B a couple games ago, hit it to deep CF last night and tonight. That's besides the hits and walks hes had on this road trip. I am cautiously optimistic he can be productive. I have no idea what Schoop looks like at SS, but yea that's plan B.
  5. Ah, ok. It's already pretty clear though, just not called unless it's either really obvious or there's a collision. Another line wouldn't change anything, and the line would be gone by the 2nd inning anyhow.
  6. Technically, blocking the plate. In a replay challenge, maybe 10% chance they overturn a call like that.
  7. Don't see record but vs lefties team OPS goes down 49 points, avg 19, obp 14, slug 34. Right, and remember the Dodgers are also LH heavy in their rotation. One move doesn't solve the hitting for LHP issue, but it helps. Now they need Arcia and Pina/Kratz to be even decent. Even if they hit like they have on this road trip they'll be fine. Aguilar needs to heat up again....which leaves it all up to Braun. Man he used to destroy LHP! Please Braunie, get even 80% of that back for 3 more months.
  8. Let's cut to the chase. Shaw has been horrible vs LHP this season. Now you can sit him every time a LHP is starting, but still use a big bat like that vs a RHP late in a game. Question will be how Schoop is used vs RHP. I would guess he won't start very often, but will play the 2nd half of most every game using double switch. In 2019 I see Shaw moving back to 3B full time, and Schoop full time at 2B. (Barring any trades of course, this can likely change.) If Hiura is "ready" at some point next season, it's a good problem to have. Brewers have shown they're pretty creative in finding places for hot bats.
  9. Dead serious, best news of the day? Erceg/Coca for Harvey turned out to be fake.
  10. I have seen different answers here, I thought I was sure he is signed through 2019, but a couple people said through 2020. That's not correct is it?
  11. If deal includes Chris Davis, could take a while to announce.
  12. .537 vs LHP this year, I see a need
  13. 4 guys for two positions. Moose/Shaw vs RH starter, Schoop/Villar vs LH starter
