  1. Schoop is RH. This is all about getting another bat vs LH pitching.
  2. Can we please have MODS ONLY post official moves in MLB forum?
  3. 35 minutes to go. I have this strong feeling they're going to still get a deal or two done by the deadline, otherwise they're not.
  4. Yadier Molina for Nottingham
  5. No need for a separate thread, because this one is easy. You do everything you possibly can to win that game,
  6. This is what I saw coming. Yea, he walks around certain hitters but has proven all year he can make that work. No, we're not getting Nolan Ryan here, but he is an upgrade and will cost very little. And who said he would be the only SP they're adding? For those who think this will all fizzle out today, stay tuned. Deals will be flying this afternoon.
  7. "That we know of" is the key phrase. I think there's more sellers out there than we know. Nationals announced it, but I can see the Giants, Cards, and others beyond the sellers we already know about- and that's a lot of teams. I don't know how many TOR guys are out there, but I'll bet there's plenty of 2/3 guys to be had. Elephant in the room is whether Stearns gets the best SP he can without giving up the big prospects, or if he goes all in for a big time SOP with control and/or Realmuto.
  8. No matter who they get, their 1-3 will not be as good as the Dodgers, Cubs, or Brave 1-3. What Peralta's win last night proves is you can still win the game and a series. They've been doing it all year. Starters keep them in a game, pen closes it out. It's still all about the bats, that will determine how far they go.
  9. Chacin I guess. But real answer is whoever is hot at the end of the year.
  10. Forget Harper, if they get another bat it will be a RH hitter. They could use one more solid RH bat to go up against the Dodgers and Cubs LH heavy rotations. No idea if they add another bat. I do agree I will be very surprised if they don't get a SP. Even if it's a very marginal arm like Gio Gonzalez. When Miley and Peralta are your 4/5, and Davies is a question mark, even a marginal innings eating SP would help. (Yet I'm sure they're aiming higher than that.) Finally, I wouldn't be surprised if they get another bullpen arm. Williams looks shaky, and not convinced Albers will return to form. Again, doesn't have to be a jaw-dropping trade, just a guy better than Williams- preferably LH.
  11. I'm getting a strong feeling Gio Gonzalez will be a Brewer.
  12. So Brewers, so predictable. 2 out and nobody on and they end up scoring 3. Seems to only happen to the Brewers. Stupid Counsel waiting for 2 outs to get things going.
  13. Add a couple of those names to Hiura and Burnes and they say yes to that deal. If you were to add one of those big names, I think you have to subtract one or two of the above names at least. The idea of trading 7 good prospects including your top 2 for 2+ years of 1 player not named Mike Trout is pure insanity. I don't even think Dombrowski is that foolish. I said add A COUPLE of those names to Hiura and Burnes, not all of them ; )
  14. I don't blame them either. Degrom or Syndergaard you would need to be blown away, and if they're asking for Ray for Wheeler, that's about right. If Brewers don't pull the trigger, oh well, they keep Wheeler for another year and can always trade him at the deadline next year if they want. Being a NY team, I think we just hear every little rumor. They're smart to take calls on any of their players, why wouldn't you? Doesn't mean they're actively trying to trade any of them.
  15. Add a couple of those names to Hiura and Burnes and they say yes to that deal.
  16. Marlins are in a position to dictate exactly what they want from the Brewers, Nationals, or anyone else. We can float our ideas all day long of what WE think is a fair trade, but it's meaningless. Put yourself in their shoes. Wouldn't you say we want Hiura, Burnes, and Nottingham- period. No? Ok, we'll wait until the off-season when there will be even more teams interested in him. Sure, there's the injury risk- but a risk I'm sure they're wiling to take.
  17. The price is Yelich+. Hiura, Burnes, Ortiz or Nottingham, lottery ticket. That's what it would take, or something very close to that.
  18. Also, Shaw and/or Moose could play some 1B. Aguilar's wild ride seems to be over. I don't expect Aguilar to stay this bad, just as I didn't think he could keep up a 1.000+ OPS all season. But the days of having him in the line-up every single game can change. Bottom line, we're headed into August and the bats will play- somewhere.
  19. Galarraga from the Tigers. 2010 or 2011 season I believe. Blown easy call at 1B.
  20. Please tell me Neiwenhuis is out of baseball now. Now that his name came up I have an irrational fear he'll be back by the end of the season.
