  1. Pretty easy to see their record with Knight, and their record since the trade with MCW. They were definitely a better team with Knight. Plus, Sova has really come on the last few weeks. If it wasn't for that, I wonder how many games they would have won. Again, I get why they made the trade, but that did not make them a better team THIS year in any way, shape, or form.
  2. Most of my golf shots are either rug burners or severe slices. Is there something wrong with my swing?
  3. Walker's plan can. The bonding thing hasn't happened, since Walker's plan would need to be approved by the state legislature, and that's not going to happen as things stand today. It's politics. State representatives in Green Bay, Lacrosse, Superior, etc. don't see any benefit for their districts back home, so they have nothing to lose by going against this, while if they voted for it they fear the wrath of the folks back home. That's why they want the city/county to kick in more, so they have more cover when they vote yes for any state funding.
  4. More RR shananigans. 4/8 vs Rockies: Admitted Smith would have been a better match-up than Broxton for that inning, but "Brox is our set-up man." I can't begin to tell you how much I hate that reasoning. Part 2: Pitcher on deck, and you pitch to the #8 hitter, who in turn burns you. Now, neither one of those are automatic decisions. But any Manager should be judged on results, and he was 0-2 in those decisions.
  5. They TRY to measure base-running. But there is no differentiation between a 75% chance of getting an extra base or 5% chance. In other words, every base-running event is unique. Some are great plays by the defense, some are 50/50 plays, some are flat-out bone-headed blunders.
  6. Exactly. Let's not get into a straw-man argument. Everyone who has posted understands that 3 games mean very little. I get that Lucroy won't hit .000 this year. We're simply responding to a post that happened to be posted in the midst of the first series, it's not like we all had high expectations, and came crashing down after 3 games. Thing is, I don't even care if they have a bad season. What I DO care about I bringing ARam back, and some other moves that could have been made, or not made, to put this team in a better position for 2016. They either needed to keep Yo and improve in other areas, or make it a rebuilding year. Instead, they are stuck in the middle. I'm not even talking about tearing it down to the ground, just make a few moves that would have saved a lot of money and got some return back. I hope I'm wrong, but I just a team where the offense will come and go, generally be ok. But a pitching staff that could absolutely implode.
  7. I look at it this way. What if Milwaukee never had an NBA franchise? One day the Mayor gets a call from, say, the Hornets. They are interested in moving to Milwaukee, but need a new arena built. It gets better. The Owners will pay half the price tag, AND help coordinate an entire entertainment district in an area of Milwaukee that has been dormant for decades. That would be a screaming headline, and everyone would be excited. The city and county would be nuts not to jump all over that and get it done ASAP. But, as it stands, the Bucks are taken for granted and there is no vision by anyone to see the massive benefits to Milwaukee beyond basketball. There was nothing wrong with Walker's plan, yet I can see how upstate legislators would want involvement from the city and county- afterall that's who benefits the most.
  8. Multiple times? What other times? As far as the Kentucky game goes, there were questionable calls both ways. But 3 big ones. The Hayes timeclock shot, no question. How about a clear shot to Gasser's face when the ball isn't close to him? That is always, always, always called a flagrant 1- even if it isn't deemed intentional. The other one that went for KY was a Koenig 3 pointer wiped away by a "charge" call on Gasser- a call all the "experts" I heard said was a ridiculous call. So, if anything, the calls went in Kentucky's favor that game.
  9. It's not panic. Many posters predicted a season under .500 before the season started. So it stands to reason there's small margin of error between a bad season and horrible season. None of that is based on one game, or even a week. They simply need a whole lot of things to go right to be above .500, and not that much to go wrong to be well under .500
  10. You don't need to worry about Braun, ARam, Segura, Davis or any other position player. They could out-perform, or severely under-perform, either way it won't matter if the pitching staff completely implodes, and that is a very real possibility. If they have the highest ERA in the NL, they don't have enough offense, even at their best, to make up for that.
  11. I really hate blaming a game on the refs. The Badgers offense was stagnant, and that cost them more than anything. With that said, it wasn't the two blown OOB calls that bother me about the officiating. The first one was tough to see real-time, I can give them the benefit of the doubt. The 2nd one was reviewed, and I'm guessing they didn't have the extreme zoom-in that made it a no-doubter. (Which leads me to another rant about how instant replay in sports is useless.) Why do I have a better view of the play sitting on my couch than the refs who need to get the call right? Biggest effect refs had on the game is how they called it in general. A ton of hand-checking and "bodying up" on the perimeter was not called. You could argue it works both ways, but that benefited Duke way more than UW- just due to style of play. I even saw Jones get warned a couple times, kept doing the same thing and a foul was never called. Those are fouls called all season long, but since it's the Champ game, suddenly they let it go. Grayson Allen's drives fall into this category too. He led with his off arm, and pushed off when he went up for layups. Look at the semi-final game last year vs AZ- that was called against the AZ guard down the stretch. All of that adds up, and basically changes the game from what the players were used to all year. I think that's what Bo was referring to in his PC, although in the heat of the moment he probably should have steered clear of that, and the "rent-a-player" reference.
  12. Funny, in my copy of RR's book it's on the 1st page and it's rule 1.A. Yes, Lohse got a hit, but I will never understand RR's extremly long rope with starting pitchers. Oh...yea you have the old version. Pick up the new copy at the Brewers Fan Store. Rule 1.A. is now "Going from 2nd to 3rd on a grounder hit in front of you is not brain-dead, it's aggressive."
  13. Don't you have a copy of RR Manager's Handbook? Page 368 Sect D (4a): "Starting pitcher must throw between 94-103 pitches."
  14. Bigger loss to you personally, or Milwaukee in general? Because losing the NCAA tourney once every 4 or 5 years is nowhere close to the impact of losing an NBA franchise by any measure. Besides, Milwaukee would still get the Tourney if they played the games at the Arena. The games are always sell-outs, with an enthusiastic crowd. Way better site than most early round games.
  15. As you can see from all the replies, everyone has their own idea on what the best seats are. Also, not sure if you mean best seats available still for sale through the Brewers, or the secondary market. All/most of the best seats are already sold to season ticket holders. I would suggest getting a ticket anywhere the first time, walk around and get a sense for what sections(s) you like.
  16. Terrified of Duke. They're athletic, they can shoot, they can penetrate...and oh yea they have the best offensive post player in college basketball. My key is the same as the KY game, UW needs to stay out of foul trouble. Just hang around and be close going into the last 4 minutes. If they do that, The Badgers are the best team this year closing out games. They are a team in every way, and have a ton of maturity.
  17. Record: 77-85 Playoffs: No MVP: Braun Surprise: Davis raises OPS to .850+, and is clean-up hitter by June. Disappointment: ARam, Nelson, Garza, Bullpen in general All Star: Braun, Lucroy Bold Prediction: Pena will have more wins than Nelson
  18. I think foul trouble will be the biggest factor. Bucky can't afford to have ANY of their starters sitting on the bench for any significant amount of time. Especially if Frank or Dekker get in foul trouble at the beginning of the game, or to start the 2nd half that would be very difficult to overcome.
  19. All of that is true. I would also add the BC doesn't lend itself to being sold-out every night, and having a crazy loud fan environment. It was built for hockey, and the seats are too far away in the lower bowl. The upper deck is ridiculous. I'm a huge Bucks fan, but won't bother going for even a free ticket in the upper sections of the upper deck. Build a new arena with fan-friendly seating, and it will be more like the old Mecca- only on a larger scale. Also, look at it this way. MrT reflects the exact same attitude as my Father in Law. He hates downtown for whatever reason, and couldn't care less about the Bucks. Fine, that's you. But that doesn't mean everyone feels that way. I live in the Fox Valley, and there are a lot closet Bucks fans- especially the younger generation.
  20. Wolf of Wall Street- Finally saw this on Netflix. I liked it, kept me interested knowing the fall was coming and how that would play out. With that said, I would only give it 3 stars- didn't love it as much as most people. Focus was on all the excess, which got old after a while. I get that was the point of the movie, but there's only so many times I need to see Leo do coke off some woman's boobs. Interstellar Wow. One of those movies where you get done watching it, and your mind is spinning. I guess that means it was a really good movie! More like Contact than Gravity, which is a good thing.
  21. Plus, their website isn't optimized for mobile. Maybe it's just me, but the box scores are shoved to the far right and cut-off when I view on tablet or phone.
  22. I still like the old school logo, the one with the Buck spinning the ball on his finger. Classic. I have never been a fan of any version of this possessed looking deer. Then again, uniforms are more important than the logo. I hope they go with a simple, clean look. I think their road reds are their best jersey right now.
  23. I don't like losing anyone with a true power bat. Most likely he won't be missed, but there's always that chance he finds his swing at the MLB level. He was able to do it for a while in the minors, so the potential is there. (Don't get me wrong , I get it, there is no place for him in MLB/AAA so he had to go.)
  24. Also, very quietly, Pena has had a really good Spring. He is now an option for either the pen or rotation if needed.
