  1. I know its the recency bias, but in 2 games I went from believing they had a legit chance to beat GS to now Im not sure they win another game.
  2. Deer in the headlights, literally.
  3. Sure, its the NBA. Bucks need a quarter where they're red hot from 3. Otherwise this series is going 7.
  4. No. Not defending the 3 will. Another 20% from the line isn't enough points with all they give up on open looks from the perimeter. Could see this coming all season long. Can they overcome it? I suppose. But it will be why they lose, if they lose. Toronto 10/30 from 3, its not the reason no matter how many times you say it.
  5. Never twll me again playoff pressure isn't a "thing." Too many guys freaking out, doing stupid things. Just not running the offense, our of position too often on defense. Tip of the hat to Toronto, but this is not a good luck.
  6. Giannis starting the offense from the top of the key is a horrible set.
  7. Just hate this broadcasting crew, man I miss Marquis.
  8. Of course, all this conversation means Giannis will come out tonight and score 40, going 4/6 from 3.
  9. Most of this is a strawman argument, best examples of that bolded. Giannis is the best player in the league. He will be in the HOF. Nobody will ever wear #34 ever again in Milwaukee. But without being able to shoot, he can't take over and score whenever he wants. That's especially important at the end of games when you want the ball in the hands of an elite player. He's not that type of player, neither was Shaq. Heck, Shaq needed to be benched at the end of games once hack-a-shaq became a thing. I'm not suggesting (nor has anyone) that Giannis should shoot more. He's kicking it out as he should, and as i mentioned earlier he should start games seeing himself more as an old school PG and don't worry about scoring until things loosen up a bit as the game goes on. Bottom line, not being able to be the man at the end of game, or even stretches during the game when offense is suffering, is his downside. When you NEED a shot, would you rather have your HOF take it, or shuffle it off to whoever is open? What if that someone is Bledsoe or Lopez? For many, many years there hasn't been a star of the team that was won a championship who can't shoot. Giannis is so different and special he may change that, but we're fighting history.
  10. Unpopular opinion, I'm beginning to wonder if Giannis is ready to put this team on his back and win a title. I realize he doesn't have to be that guy who scores 40 a night, the way this team is built. But his lack of a jumper may come back to haunt the Bucks. Look at any other elite player, they can beat you any way possible. Shooting, driving, drawing a foul, etc. Giannis hasn't adjusted very well to teams packing the paint. Without a jump shot, it's going to be tough fr him to score, tougher still with his decline at the free throw line. There's enough talent around him to get past Toronto- I'm more concerned about the Warriors. That series will be tough enough, and if Giannis has to really struggle to get his 20-24 points a game, it could bog down the offense. All too often he's standing there thinking what to do, giving the defense time to prepare. I really believe he has to think of himself as a distributor for at least the first quarter. Let the game flow for a while and then see if he can find some creases to exploit. And he just has to be better from the line. Don't get me wrong, I love Giannis, and he's an outstanding player. I've gone back and forth on how important a jumper is for him, but the playoffs may be showing that part of his game is important.
  11. Who's minutes is he taking? Best player in game 1 or game 2 other than Giannis? How can you pissibly watch these two games and come away with DJ Wilson needs to be on the floor?
  12. They're not going to send Hiura back down if he's raking. Super 2 may be a factor if this was a rebuilding year, but it's not. If he's helping them win games, he's staying in Milwaukee. If Super 2 was a concern, they would have just waited a little longer. No reason they couldn't have just brought up Saladino for a bench bat for a couple weeks instead.
  13. Very similar to game 1 Bucks/Raptors.
  14. No, because tanking will never be dead. Lottery pick isn't the only reason a team tanks. If you know you're not going to be a good team, you trade away any assets you have to clear up cap space for the future. So you tank. Getting a top lottery pick is nice too, but still worth tanking without that.
  15. Why not just put equal odds for all teams not making the playoffs? Really limits the desire to tank if your odds are the same to get the last lottery pick vs the 1st. Nothing will eliminate tanking entirely, as clearing your salary for the following year will always be a sound strategy if you're rebuilding. And that has nothing to do with the lottery. But it may help?
  16. Not to mention Giannis had a good night, but not exceptional. And a bad night from Middleton. Just shows, Bucks just have so many more ways to beat you.
  17. I'd imagine Coach Cooper just wrecked a gatorade cooler. It wasn't gatorade, he was too cheap. It was Tang. He always said "if its good enough for astronauts, its good enough for you." .
  18. He would always yell "ducks on the pond!!!!" But we were 10, and had no idea why he was saying that. Then he went to his van and pounded down a couple Old Styles and unfiltered camels.
  19. The consensus seems to be either Hiura will be a good hitter immediately, or it will take some time. I predict a 3rd option. He will be hot out of the gates, then struggle once there is a "book" on him. Advanced scouting catches up. Question is, will he come out of that, and how long will it take? His swing is so smooth, I think he bounces back relatively quickly, but we'll see. As for Shaw, let me say this. Some may take a lot of joy in getting the awful Shaw out of the lineup. But this team really needs him to get right, because they need production from the corner IF positions. Moose takes care of one. Aguilar has struggled ever since AS break last year. Thames has been wildly inconsistent. Shaw on the other hand has had two very good seasons, and out of those three my money is still on Shaw- even after his dreadful start to this season.
