You guys lost me with all this isongs and extra hard drive talk. I'm still trying to figure out how to move my Head East and Bad Co. albums from 8 track to cassette.

There's a real chance Shaw can return to form, been saying it all along. BUT, I don't see where he's going to play to prove it. Moose (and Hiura when he comes back up) should play every day. That leaves 1B, where Thames should start every game vs RHP. Rare case where position players are pretty much set across the board. Everyone is productive enough to stay put, and Shaw is simply the odd man out at this point. I say "at this point" because that could obviously change at any time.

Rotation??? 1.) Woodruff 2.) Davies These 2 in^^ 3.) ? 4.) ? 5.) ? Who’s the other 3? Nelson Chacín Gio Anderson Peralta Houser Wilkerson Then who to the pen? And who to AAA? We need to forget about the 5 man rotation as we knew it. It's been dead for years now, at least in Milwaukee. Even before Stearns arrived. My guess is Nelson stays, gets at least a couple more starts. Anderson stays, he's actually been effective as a starter. Kept on a short leash in close games he's fine. 5th I believe will be Chacin, too much success last year not to give him more chances. Thing is though, that's now. It will change often from now until the end of the year. Davies and/or Woodruff could fall off or get injured. Ditto for Nelson, Anderson, Chacin. Until then, Gio and Houser in the pen and Peralta either pen or AAA. Too many factors to know which. But they will continue to tinker with IL, sending someone down, etc. Ideally we could get at least 4 consistent guys in the rotation for the long term, but that never seems to happen. So instead you keep giving chances to 7-9 guys and hope something sticks. I also predict they will work through the schedule and find day games for Peralta to start. His delivery clearly plays much better in day games at this point in his career.

Sorry, but I'm missing how there's any comparison between bunting to break up a no-hitter and taking a charge in basketball. Is blocking a shot or rebounding cheap too?

It is, I've seen all the seasons. Really good supporting actors, and just a nice pace/ vibe going on. If you have Prime, Patriot is a top 3 show of all time. Probably my personal favorite, its that good.

How would you correct people who believe that this was the Bucks first step and they'll be back? I'm not sure why this is so far fetched. Again, every great player has to overcome something. Giannis wasn't able to this year at 24, so that means it was a one year window? And growth from a team can come from it's younger players getting better among other things. DJ Wilson is a 6'10, athletic and active big man who shots about 36 pct from 3. Not sure he's hit his ceiling. I know Giannis hasn't because as great as he is, he struggled in his first time in a big spot in the playoffs. Bringing back Mirotic would almost certainly be growth right there as he played very few games for the Bucks this year and given his track record, would almost certainly be significantly better next season. There will be turnover. As long as we bring back Middleton, Brogdon and can find a competent, veteran PG, I don't see any reason why we won't be back and competitive. I just don't understand the defeatist attitude when we've got a 24-year-old who will most likely be MVP this year and still has a lot of room for growth in his game and we were up 2-0 in the ECF's. I'll start getting upset if Giannis leaves. Past that, I'm pretty confident if he sticks around here, the Bucks are going to be a contender every year he's healthy. I don't know what more you can ask for. Because, as I said, bringing everyone back is not realistic. Let's say they lose Lopez. That's a bigger hit than most people realize. He really anchors the defense, and a true stretch 5 on offense. If they leave who replaces him with no cap room? Wilson is a nice player, but he's not a 5. Yea, GS and Toronto are losing their best players but GS isn't going anywhere. And there are always other teams that step up sooner than expected. Like the Bucks and Nuggets this year. Especially if the Lakers, Knicks, whoever make the right decisions and put a great team together. Indians is lurking depending on what moves they make. I'm not saying the Bucks window IS closed, but it COULD be closed. Yea, they'll still be competitive. And I'll enjoy watching. But I think this this season may turn out to be their best chance to win it all when we look back 10 years from now. Hope I'm wrong. Next year Giannis supporting cast is probably Middleton, Bledsoe (counting on him in the playoffs?), maybe Brogdon, and then a bunch of questions. This is not a young team on the rise is my point. Everyone is already at their ceilings for the most part.

All of this is a painful reminder how this season very well could have been a one year window. Every day I hear from family, friends, random people about how this was just the first step. Bring everyone back and take the next step. I don't even have the heart anymore to correct them. First, it will near impossible to bring everyone back. Then, even if they could, is that even good enough when it wasn't this year? With no real way to improve the roster. No cap space, no tradeable players to bring back a difference maker. As you can see, I will be pleasantly surprised if they're able to pull off a miracle off-season.

Remember when Bickford was the top ranked prospect in the Giants' system? And people here think that the Brewers system is bad! Let's keep it real. That was before suspension and injury. If he was throwing like he was prior to all that he would #1 or 2 in the Brewers system today.

Plus change-up > Plus FB velo I believe that's what they are realizing, and that's what this pick is about. So many pitchers these days induce drooling over fb velo. May not control it, or throw it without any movement, but hey, he can touch 96. That formula is outdated. As outdated as the sacrifice bunt. Baseball is filled with FB/ slider pitchers. And we always read about how the slider is 55+. Ever notice how many guys actually have a great slider when they reach MLB? Not many. They become afraid to use it, and even more afraid of trying to really break off a good one. So they go back to the #1, and you're not getting MLB hitters out with one pitch. No, you need a change or curve. Changing speeds drastically is what fools hitters. Small may never make it past A ball, but I bet this line of thinking led to the pick.

That makes very little sense to me. If you don't think the reason for the move doesn't include the words 'Shaw' and 'Super 2' and instead includes the words 'CC' or 'bullpen', I'd imagine you're off-base. Don't interrupt him, he's on a roll.

Trimming down definitely helps quickness. And just as importantly, you don't get tired as quickly if you're carrying less weight. Being able to be quick in short bursts is no more important than being able to maintain top speed for long periods of time chasing a guy like Norman Powell or Fred Van Vleet through screens. And even if he is just doing for his feet, that just proves my point about how his previous injuries are a concern moving forward, another point that got me some excessively incredulous replies despite being supported by known facts and, now, by Brogdon's own words. Van Vleet is carrying more excess pounds than Brogdon, so why is he quicker? It's so obvious, can't believe nobody can see this.

Not sure anyone claimed Brogdon was quick, or that he had 0% body fat. Athletes try things all the time. Losing weight, adding muscle, etc. It doesn't necessarily mean he'll be quicker. But you can feel vindicated if you want, it's a good feeling. FWIW, you point out way too often how you can detect body fat in athletes that nobody else can. It's a little weird.

Very simply, Giannis hasn't played like the MVP this series, Kawhi has. As for Lopez, all things being equal move on from him. But all things aren't equal. There's no slit to replace him, they'll be over the cap if they sign Kris. Even very close if they don't. No money for any FA. That leaves them with literally no big men at all.

There's been a lot of talk about what works/ doesn't work with various personnel groups. Important to note, just because a certain grouping (or individual player) hasn't been effective, it may be the next game. That's what happens in a 7 game series, something works in game 4 that didn't in game 3, etc. You have to keep tinkering constantly. Same thing with game plan in general, you need to keep changing thing, even if it's minor, on both ends of the court. Part of that is how you use Giannis on the offensive side, and tweaking how you defend the pnr on defense as examples. I would not be opposed to trying Sterling Brown on Kawhi for a few minutes to see what happens, have been thinking about that myself. Wh knows, maybe he can even knock down a couple threes. Finally, talking about The Drake is exactly what he wants us to do. Ignore it, scoreboard trumps it all.

Pick your poison. Went they went smaller, they got killed on the boards. They basically have 8 1/2 man rotation, so those 8 guys will all get lots of minutes. Doesn't matter all that much who starts. They simply need to play better, harder, and smarter on both ends of the court. I also don't think Bud is stubborn. He didn't hesitate to yank Bledsoe early in game 3, and had been playing different combos. Like in all sports, professional coaches don't panic the way fans do. It's been 4 games, I'm sure he will make other changes tonight. For my rant, I'll say again it's a waste of time to have Giannis at the top and say "here, go at wall, good luck." When he's at the top he needs a ball sceen, pnr, something. But mostly he should be getting the ball on the wings here he can attack at an angle, or in the post.

Revise again. He played well vs Pistons, and had some good games vs the Celtics. This series hes been awful, but who knows if thats pressure or he just has had a bad streak. Either way, not sure we need a whole new thread. Pretty sure anyone who follows the Bucks knows hes been bad this series. But its cool, whatever.

Yes, Raptors have been playing very smart basketball. Making it hard for Middleton, Brogdon, and Hill to get open 3s. Not caring much about Mirotic, Lopez, and of course Bledsoe and Giannis. But they pay attention to the three they think can hurt them the most. Very disciplined in building the Giannis wall, and fouling him when they can to make him earn it. All to frustrate him, which has pretty much worked. So basic, but so true, the Bucks just have to get back to playing the way they played all year on both ends. I do expect the defense to pick up tomorrow. Still very concerned about all the dribbling and standing around on offense instead of moving the ball quickly. They're making it very easy for Toronto to react and help.

I wish I believed they won't get out worked again.
