  1. Grandal last 20 games hitting under .200, so he’s definitely slumping. And Braun I guess you think is having a good year. No, I don't think Braun (or Grandal) is having a "good" year. That doesn't mean they've been bad. A lot of territory in between. You just can't pick out a week here or there when we're in the middle of May and make any conclusions. Overall, both have been fine. But yea, $40MM to be just "fine" is not ideal. But, as with Cain, it is way too early for concern.
  2. Grandal, since the first week and half has been bad offensively. Braun outside of one 6 hit game bad This is just so factually not true.
  3. It's not a fake injury. He's still recovering from his original injury. He hasn't been back on the 25 since he originally injured his shoulder. So this is just a typical rehab, no different than any other rehab stint. It's not fake or fishy to stay on the DL until you're ready to return to the active roster.
  4. Whoever guards Green better be standing on top of his shoes in the corner and not leave to help on defense no matter what. Kawhi will get his, and that's fine, make him work for it. What you don't want is Green knocking down 5 or 6 corner 3s.
  5. May 31st seems to be the last day that Jimmy can be optioned, as he'll reach 5 years of service time the next day. This ended up lining up almost exactly with the end of the rehab assignment. So they could, and I guess they will if he's obviously not ready and looks awful, but I agree that I don't believe they will. Breaking stuff looks great, velo is fine, give him a chance to prove that he's back. There's a good chance he makes this team better. So on those grounds alone he should be on the MLB roster. In addition to that, it also doesn't look great to option a player on the last day where you can do so. Even more true for a popular guy (With both fans and players) like Jimmy. Are those the only two options? Couldn't they put him on the 10 day DL if they don't feel he's ready? Not suggesting this is the case, just asking the question.
  6. More I think about it, I can see both Nelson and Hiura coming up right before or right after All Star break. Especially if rotation is still humming along. After all this, they're going to be very careful with Nelson.
  7. My guess is this is part of the process. Stretch him out, but give him one e xtra day of recovery. If he responds well to that, move it to 5. Probably at least 2-3 more starts, making sure he can return strong with 4 days of rest.
  8. I feel they'll sign Middleton and go over the cap, especially the way he's played in the postseason. Brogdon and Hill, honestly no idea. Brogdon is restricted but will get sone hefty offers. Tough call on those guys. Divo, Patty C, maybe Brown are nice players but not on Hill or Brogdons level. Loosing Lopez would scare me almost as much as Middleton. People just don't understand how he anchors the defense. Bud does, talks about it all the time. I fear in a shooters league, some team may give him a huge offer. Everyone wants a guy like this at the 5, and now that teams saw how the Bucks used him his value went way up. And with no money to spend in FA, who are they going to get to replace him? Could they restrucure Giannis with a new contract and move some money back a couple years? No idea how that all works, Giannis just seems like a guy who would be open to it if it meant keeping the band together.
  9. Lopez and Sova do a great job boxing out their own man so others can get the rebound. That's not the whole reason, of course, but part of it . Takes good timing too, all that comes into play. Most of all, you have to want to rebound, its effort. Edit- With all the 3pt shooting in recent years, more long rebounds for the guards that want them.
  10. For this year yes. Because of his tj’s max 50 pitches/outing. But he has a starters mix, 99 fb plus plus slider, plus change and great command. So our sixth ace? LIKE
  11. Please tell me Marv Albert isnt doing the EC finals.
  12. Poor of Arcia to ignore Sedar, and poor of Sedar for not sending him... I honestly can't wait for the day that the windmill loses his job. Both were right. As he was throwing Ed put the stop sign on. Arcia saw the bad throw and turned the jets back on.
  13. Don't forget Dante. I'm guessing Snell is a goner...if they can find someone to take him. TMW is talking about playoff rotation, Dante hasn't been playing so Brogdon coming back won't affect him.
  14. Hill has been great, no doubt. I don't feel PC and Sova are getting enough credit. Fun fact, PC is 2nd on the team in rebounds this series, and it's really not even close. Not for guards- 2nd in rebounding PERIOD. Sova plays really outstanding defense, may not get a ton of boards but blocks out his own man at least. Does the little things on offense. A put back here, a 3 there, nice pass. Just always makes the right play.
  15. No, this isn't anything new. Every team, every year has a game or more where they need to bring up someone from the bullpen or minors to start a game in a pinch. They try to get 4 innings, with a long reliever following him. You can call Peralta a tandem starter, piggyback, whatever you want but it's the same thing as long relief. Sorry, this new philosophy you've been touting is not becoming true. Also, I like the way you keep saying "it's coming." That way you can never be wrong.
  16. Both sides are correct. Hiura has a short, sweet swing and is a better hitter than Brinson. That said, success (especially early success) at the MLB level is never guaranteed. But you have to hold on to guys you really believe in. Because there's also no guarantee that great pitcher you trade for won't need tj after his first start.
  17. No different than Brewers IGTs. Some folks always looking for the negative unfortunately.
  18. LOL. What did I miss? Nothing, Bucks and Brewers both won, but they suck and all their players suck. Or something like that.
  19. I know what you're saying, but Gamel is not a bench player. Agreed. In the NL, you don't really have bench players. You need think about and use your entire 25 man pretty much every game. Well, that too. But Gamel is actually a starter vs RHP, which is most of the time.
