  1. All solid, but theres only one name. Frosty Boys. I can even picture the song, to the tune of Janet Jacksons Nasty Boys.
  2. I'm just going to assume you meant to put Beastie Boys at #2 and spaced out.
  3. He wants to pitch, and that's great because that's how he SHOULD feel. I do think it was pretty funny when he added "take the HRs away and my results look a lot better." True Chase, take your problem away and there's no longer a problem. And if Kratz could run faster, he wouldn't be so slow.
  4. Nickname problem WHOAA SOLVVD?
  5. Reasons for Broxton over Cedeno: -Starting series with all pitchers completely rested -Off days built in, saving the bullpen even more -Obviously only 2-3 starters needed, so essentially 9 pitchers in the BP -Bullpen game means greater need for another PH, Broxton can give you that in addition to defense and speed on the base paths. -Blackmon pretty neutral in his splits, so is Cedeno- so there isn't a whole lot of need for a LOOGY
  6. Just hope the guys who didn't make it keep their heads right, because they may very well be called on in future series. Evan Anderson I could see getting a start at Dodger Stadium if it plays out that way.
  7. Yes, I think that is safe to say. As others have said, not a lot of fire power from the Rockies from the left side of the plate. Looks like Woodruff/Guerra, Chacin, Peralta for the starters in this series. Would be very different if they faced the Cubs of course. It is interesting though they're going bullpen instead of starting either Anderson or Davies. Finally, I would point out Cedeno could have been used as a LOOGY, but he really isn't one. His splits are almost identical.
  8. Why not let Auggie throw out the first pitch? And if he looks good, give him the first batter- nice match-up for him.
  9. Slotcar, sorry for jumping on you. It was late (for me) so I wanted to brief, didn't intend to come off that way. The reference "Its horrible, this idea of yours" is a line from "Office Space." That said, sorry to say I still don't like it. Any nickname that has to be explained won't work. For example Bambi's Bombers, Nasty Boys, Murderers Row, all catchy and self-explanatory. Frosty Boys sounds contrived. Just my opinion, maybe I'm wrong.
  10. Soooo don't be a jerk about it then. There is absolutely nothing horrible about being pumped up about the team. Welcome to the board, SlotcarAssassin! He even said its not his idea, just passing it on. Its not going to catch on, I don"t like it, thats my opinion. Besides, it was tongue and cheek using a movie reference.
  11. I know this is your first post here, so I dont want to be a jerk about it. But. Its horrible, this idea of yours.
  12. The Cubs led the league in OBP for most of the year, not sure if they ended up there at the end. So I definitely wouldn't call their hitting philosophy 3TO. I just think they were worn out at the end of the year, and that's on Maddon.
  13. Maybe, but T Plush is still nowhere as stupid as rolling with the nickname "Mayor of Ding Dong City"
  14. I had Peralta #1 on my prospect list for quite a while, and have said several times in IGTs he should be used in the post-season. One pat owed me. Also said as frustrating as it can be, stick with Arcia, he will come around. Two pats owed me. Finally, said Santana will be a factor down the stretch. That's one....two...threeeee pats for FV Brewerfan hahahahaha
  15. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but "Division Champion" is nothing I'm going to wear. Sort of like wearing a Bucks shirt that says "2018- #6 seed." I'll get World Series Champions gear though.
  16. Taking a trip to NY during Christmas, and I havent been there in many years. Will be all adults going centered around Packers game in the Meadowlands. Is Midtown still the best place to stay, any recommendations for nice, reasonable hotel? Is MSG walking distance from Midtown hotels? Trains- Most likely flying into Newark, can we get to Midtown from that airport? And back again of course. Can we get to Meadowlands stadium by train from Midtown? Restaurants, sites, sounds, hidden gems.... open to any and all suggestions. 911 Memorial is only must see/do on our list. We're not Broadway people, but open to anything else.
  17. That would make sense, but then again starting any playoff game at 3:00 or whatever on a Thursday makes no sense so you never know.
  18. I don't watch much post-season baseball if the Brewers aren't playing, so I was surprised to see they still have these early start times in the playoffs. It's really too bad, as I'll basically miss any games or partial games during working hours. I'm sure they have it all figured out, but it makes little sense to me why they wouldn't have all weeknight games at night, even if they stagger the start times as much as possible. I must be wrong, but just makes sense to me ratings would be higher at night even if two games were on simultaneously. Will they have weird start times in the NLCS also?
  19. Another area where Stearns is ahead of the curve. So called TOR starters are expensive, and injury risk is a much higher probability than a position player. They are also more difficult to forecast production, unless we're talking about the guys who are real studs. So he's willing to pay a ton in salary and/or prospects for guys like Yelich and Cain, because he knows what he's getting. There were other position players who moved to other teams of course, and by and large they produced about what you would expect. Now look at the list of FA pitchers. Many of them under-performed the contracts they got. I expect more of the same this off-season. I can see him spending fairly big money on a 2B or C, or swinging a big trade for one. But not for a starting pitcher. He will play the quantity game again. You have the young guys they already have (Woodruff, Burnes, Peralta) plus Chacin, Anderson, Davies, maybe one or more of Guerra, Nelson, Miley, Gonzalez. That's not a bad list to start with at all, and I'm sure he'll add a couple buy low guys and roll the dice. Simple, yet brilliant. Spend money and prospects on position players where you can more accurately forecast production, and for the rotation just have plenty of solid options.
