  1. We have New Glarus in Wisconsin and many many other microbreweries. Not as many as Colorado I am sure but still a very very good selection. They sell them at certain stands in the stadium. I am not sure how easy they are to find or how many there are but as of a couple years ago I could easily find New Glarus, Lakefront and Capital Breweries amongst others at the stadium. No way we belong in the bottom 3 unless every single other stadium has a brewpub.
  2. Possibly. Is he making errors on plays that most 3B wouldn't even get to or on easy plays? If he is making a lot of plays on balls most 3B wouldn't get to he is more than making up for the errors. Seems to me that it is possible he doesn't know when to hold onto the ball and when he should throw it. Much like Bill Hall a few years back, he may think he can make every play. He definitely has a lot of raw talent. When Braun came up he was older and more polished as a hitter. I don't think we should be making any definitive judgements yet.
  3. Aoki in CF Hart in RF, and Green at 1B may be better. Not enough to make much of an issue of it.
  4. He is a good athlete so I don't really know what to expect. I never got to see him in Appleton. He has graded out well in both UZR and DRS so far in his career. Well above average in fact. Small sample though. I don't remember the discussion bout his defense in the minors.
  5. I know. We didn't realize how bad our cable looked until we got a HDTV. I am in the same boat and want a really good movie for Blu-Ray. I was considering Star Wars but Lucas keeps changing it. I was also considering Game of Thrones.
  6. They will probably start Manny Parra. I would be shocked if they brought up one of our young arms to start.
  7. I was under the impression that plays with defensive shifts were thrown out. Error are not equal to bad defense. Range can make up for errors.
  8. I'm not sure that the Yankees would have even went to $35 million. Though it sounded insane at the time, that deal almost looks like a bargain now... though the new part after the opt-out could get really ugly down the road. We are past the opt-out already. He opted out and basically got an extension.
  9. If you are not going to tender Morgan a contract you might as well trade him. We don't know that he won't bring back anything of value. That is just the assumption because we got him for so little, but we don't have the personality problems with him that Washington did.
  10. You trade Morgan because has more value if traded than he would if we keep him. He is redundantly redundant for us. He s actually the kind of guy Melvin usually does well with in trades.
  11. He can't hit LHP. He really can't hit at all but since Morgan is so bad against LHP Morgan needs to be platooned. If Gomez was a little worse on defense I would just play Morgan full time.
  12. I don't think Wolf was a really bad deal either. It looks kind of bad this year but the first 2 years he was very productive.
  13. Wow, the apocalypse is upon us. Gomez has drawn walks 3 nights in a row. That is almost half his total for the season.
  14. Well there's an understatement. He should have been in AAA to save service time though. At that point I believe he probably was out of options.
  15. Why on earth would we trade a good middle infielder having a bad year for a 1B? That is a horrible trade unless you are talking about an elite 1B. there are always guys to play 1B. Guys who can hit like Weeks should at 2B are much much much much rarer.
  16. Gross getting playing time wasn't really a bad thing as long as it was part of a platoon. The guy had decen't splits. Mench over Hart wasn't all that great though.
  17. He does play amazing defense and hits LHP better than Morgan, although that isn't saying much. Gomez is just frustrating because he has all sorts of talent and plays hard (sometimes too hard). I wish he could just find a way to harness his natural ability and improve his baseball IQ. That would be fantastic. He really does have amazing physical abilities. If he could hit at ll he would be a really valuable CF. At this point he is the small half of a platoon if the starter is either really bad on defense or can't hit RHP at all. He has shown nothing except speed to be at the top of the order though.
  18. Can't watch live games in market. Great for out of market people.
  19. I would start Green every single day, but I don't know enough about him yet to make a strong argument for him. I think Maysonet is a better defender so even if Green can hit same handed pitching better it would have to be a to better to make up for the defense. The other games against RHP, he should have 100% started especially over Gomez. He should have played in the field with Braun, Ramirez and Hart all dinged up.
  20. It would be an incredible deal except for the blackout rules.
  21. As depleted as our roster is, I would play the platoon advantage as much as possible except for Braun, Ramirez, Hart, Weeks and probably Aoki.
  22. I don't have much of a problem with Gomez in the lineup over Green but there is no reason to put Gomez #2.
  23. This is possibly the origin.
  24. To much small ball is a big problem with him. Our OBP stinks and he lets his guys give up outs on the bases.
