  1. I was just thinking great Yuni's up but then I remembered that DPR came to his senses and it is Lucroy. Of course I just jinxed Lucroy by posting about him on Facebook.
  2. It's all downhill from there. Time to retire. Defense certainly improved this year.
  3. I think just about everyone on this site would have gone for that ball. You're not thinking when its coming down to get out of the way because your catcher might be there to catch it. I wouldn't.
  4. Heard somebody say "get out of the front row." You don't go for the baseball unless the other team is on the field.
  5. You can't make errors on balls you can't get to. The problem with all of our fielders except Weeks and Gomez/Morgan is range.
  6. I don't disagree. Not exactly setting the bar high.
  7. I don't second guess the collisions. If Posey catches and holds onto the ball, Cousins is out.
  8. I think that Cousins could have slid directly into the plate without touching or very minimally brushing Posey.
  9. I would laugh at that lineup but I fear that DPR might actually do that.
  10. No you didn't. Melvin did. Not that Inglett is anything special but it would have been nice to have him.Inglett's year so far: DFA'd on April 28, outrighted on May 3, contract purchased May 8, outrighted to Triple A May 12. He had a decent 160 plate appearances last year, but on a year-to-year basis he's right around replacement level. If he could play short the Brewers probably would have given him another look, but he's limited defensively and doesn't have a ton of pop with the bat.He is CC but more than little younger without the SS ability. Considering how often CC actually plays SS I am not sure that it really matters.
  11. I agree but I don't think it's a bad idea to bring in a competent 1B in case Gamel doesn't pan out. Worst case situation is that they end up as a primary bench option.Worst case scenario is our manager doesn't play the young guy even though he is better.
  12. No you didn't. Melvin did. Not that Inglett is anything special but it would have been nice to have him.
  13. Posey wasn't blocking the plate at all. The plate is completely open the whole time. It looked more like he was going for a sweep tag. I am sure Cousins didn't know it at the time but Posey never had control of the ball.
  14. I agree that instead of having the actual Bernie statues they should have had some sort of text or internet code that would be entered. Then you pick up your prize at the ballpark. That way it would be easier to limit it to one per household. This was like a pinata breaking and the big bully stealing all the candy.
  15. Nice to know but when making a decision on who should play, I don't care. I want the better player to play. Just because a backup is above league average doesn't mean he is a good choice if there are better choices available.
  16. I noticed that early in the game he hadn't used his change or curve yet(or was it his slider). At least according to Gameday. He only had 3 different pitches(2-seam, 4-seam, and curve/slider) early in the game but in the 7th he was using 5 pitches. I don't remember which inning I first noticed so he may have just been saving certain pitches for certain players.
  17. Yeah but that is their overall projection. If Morgan faces almost exclusively or mostly RHP he will hit better than that. Off the top of my head I believe Morgan's OBP was about .350 vs RHP and .300 vs LHP and he was hitting LHP as well as Gomez was, or close to it.
  18. If Gamel would get platooned this board would explode.
  19. So I am heading to Woodman's on Friday. What should I be looking for besides the Sam Adams Latitude 48 IPA Deconstructed and New Glarus products. I can get both locally I think. I already saw D-Man. I want to try something different than Gumballhead. That is the backup beer right now.
  20. A combination of Morgan and Gomez should actually be pretty good in CF. SS and a backup middle infielder is what really needs to be addressed. To answer the first question though, yes, it is to soon.
  21. That first strike to Braun was further off the plate than any of the balls to Weeks.
  22. A lot of SABR terms are not in Firefox either. Lots of red comes up on these forums.
