    Do you also dry your hops? Wholesale Hops still has Amarillo. I think AHS does as well. $2/oz at AHS though. I heard there was going to be a hop and grain shortage this year so I bought a pound of Amarillo pellets. Just used 4.5oz last week in a Gumballhead like American wheat. I plan on putting in about 1oz to dryhop for a week. I have to be hones that I am not a big fan of smoked beers. I have had a few and have not liked any of them. Oberon Ale comes out very soon.

    Didn't even give that much consideration but that would make a lot more sense for Jeffress than putting him in the pen. He has hardly pitched the last few years. At least against batters.

    I think Cain may stay down for quite a while. He already has MLB service time from last year. Cain is probably better than Cabrera in my opinion. As a developing prospect I think Cain playing every day in AAA would be better than sporadic at bats in the majors. If you are not going to compete this year or next, the extra year of service time is worth way more than making a 75 win team a 79 win team. Not that I think Cain is 4 wins better than Cabrera.

    Morgan #2 wouldn't be to bad. Unfortunately I think Kotsay will be starting instead.

    You can bring that stuff in and I disagree that it would be worse. I think a brat off the grill tastes way better than anything served at Miller Park even if it isn't fresh off the grill. I am pretty sure they don't grill their food. I throw a few dogs on the grill every time I grill because they taste so good a few days later for a smack.

    I don't think I would say that somebody who had a .309 OBP in AAA hit well. That kind of sucks. I never liked Cruz and don't like Betancourt. You could flip a coin and pick one and neither would be a good option at SS.

    Unfortunately I think he will be behind Kotsay on the depth chart.

    If you read it closer he talks about how we have a few players who are around 2 win or less players. The problem is almost every team and all teams in the central have at least a couple replacement level or below players somewhere on the field.

    I guess this would be a fair argument if I had the daily habit of making such complaints. I haven't posted here in a long time, largely because I've been turned off by the repetitive nature of the discussions/posters. There are only a handful of things to discuss so of course it is going to be repetitive. The rotation and 1B have been locked up since the Greinke trade. The closer role has been locked up since early last year and who really wants to go into much of a discussion about the rest of the pen. Of the rest of the starters all are good or young except for 1 or 2(Gomez/Betancourt). One of those(Gomez) at least does one thing really well(defense) and has a decent backup plan. So any discussion about the quality of the team will inevitably lead to its glaring weak link(Betancourt) and any position player moves will lead to Kotsay since many think he isn't good.

    I am surprised most people still buy concessions other than beer and ice cream. They let you bring in practically everything else. They even let you bring in soft sided coolers.

    1B and CF will probably be filled pretty cheap with Gomez, Morgan and Gamel. Even a FA 1B wouldn't be all that expensive. The talent pool at 1B is pretty deep.

    That is just my glass half full perspective, I guess I'm just sick of people repeating the small negatives over and over again ad nauseum in post after post while not adding anything new to the discussion. What about posts complaining about people complaining but adding nothing to the discussion?

    The Brewers have put together perhaps the strongest opening day roster in the past two decades and all I see on this site is complaint after complaint The complaints are precisely because they have put together such a strong team. The problem is they didn't go quite far enough, left at least 1 glaring hole and made some very questionable moves with the bench players. The smart move would have been to cut Kotsay, trade for Morgan and keep Dickerson. Cruz I don't mind losing but I am not thrilled with Almote either especially with Kotsay. We have 2 bench guys who shouldn't play the field at all.

    Morgan makes A LOT of outs on the bases. He is a terrible base runner. If he can stop making so many outs on the bases he could be a very valuable asset.

    The problems we are having now will be remembered. Quite a few people "in the know" think the Brewers were only around 86ish wins to begin with.

    You do realize this means that there is no back up plan if Carlos Gomez continues being Carlos Gomez? Exactly. At least with Dickerson on the team we had a guy who could play decent defense with a good chance to hit well as well. He also had a decent OBP in the minors. There is plenty of evidence to suggest he could put up a good OBP to go along with good defense in CF.

    The .356 OBP Dickerson has put up over his small sample is better than we can probably expect from Gomez. Much, much better with slightly worse defense.

    So we traded a decent platoon option in CF for a long reliever. What the crap Douglas?
