  1. Crap, hopefully he plays closer to his career numbers than what he did last year.
  2. That's pretty much how I feel If McGehee performs well this year no. If he doesn't play well this year then I will be very upset about last year since it vaulted him into a starting spot this year.
  3. I don't like Macha as the manager, but Svuem would absolutely drive me nuts. His strategy is straight out of the 80's. Small ball, small ball, and more small ball.
  4. It was pretty much one bad month for Hart in 2008. His OBP sucked pretty much all of the 2nd half but without his absolutely horrible September things probably still look somewhat respectable. March .250/.250/.500/.750 April .295/.358/.421/.779 May .306/.342 .519/.861 June .265/.292/.588/.880 July .265/.301/.439/.740 August .299/.310/.523/.833 September.173/.192/.245/.437
  5. I'll third this opinion... and agree that he doesn't have a very athletic-looking body Yeah I will 4th.... wait a minute. That's not really true. His highest slugging pct in the minors was .429 in his second full season in AAA. Highest obp was in AA at .354. His overall minor league slashes: .279/.322/.409. Highest OPS was .776. If he was a 2B, SS, or catcher he might project as a major league starter with those numbers. Any other position and he's a bench player at best. The fact he's a righty didn't really help his chances. When I read that I thought "what the deuce?" McGehee was a pretty unspectacular hitter in the minors. I still think he should be a bench player. I hope he plays well if he is the starter but I would much rather see Gamel start at 3B.
  6. For the record, McGehee looked just as chubby last year in my opinion.
  7. Fielder may be better, but he would have to be significantly better to make it worth trading prospects for him. The team would also have to be in contention to trade for a guy who is likely to walk after his service time is up.
  8. So I have been playing Mass Effect 2 for a few weeks now and I just love the game. Of course I liked the first one as well so that shouldn't be to surprising. It really does a good job of taking your character from the first game and integrating it into this game. It is interesting to see the effect your choices in the first game had. Not that any of them have really far reaching consequences. Now I find out they are coming out with more DLC free for people who bought the game new. So far they have given out a new character along with his loyalty mission, free armor(2 sets) and a free gun. This new DLC is supposed to include a new vehicle and 5 new missions. Also, for fans or DA:O, and I know there are a few, DA:O Awakenings is due in a couple weeks, March 16th I believe. I am really looking forward to it. They apparently changed a few things to make Rogues and Warriors stronger(new abilities) because the Mages were so strong. Borderlands just had a DLC content pack released this week that increased the level cap to 61(their tag line was "this one goes to 11") instead of 50. I think companies are finally getting DLC right. They are releasing good DLC. DLC in general to this point has been pretty crappy in my opinion(outside of Fallout 3, their DLC was pretty good).
  9. Other than the Olympics, what do you typically watch on TV? I hardly ever watch anything unless I record I have it recorded on TiVo. Psych - Probably my favorite show and has been for a while Chuck White Collar Burn Notice Caprica - Will probably drop this one pretty soon unless it gets interesting Star Wars The Clone Wars - Just ok. Time filler. Waiting for the live action Star Wars show to come on. Community - I don't watch it all the time. Various shows on History channel
  10. Relying on errors, especially at the minor league level, is a poor way to evaluate defenders With the fields not as good and the official scorers even more uneven than at the MLB level I would have to agree.
  11. Other than the sweepers you can drink beer while participating without setting it down or dramatically altering what you have to do. You have to set your beer down to bat or field in most cases.
  12. Meh, takes a little more than pretty women to make a sport interesting. Any sport that can be done while holding a beer in one hand isn't really a sport. It is a game.
  13. BAL won't want Prince for a year. The market for Fielder will be limited to big market teams, and very likely AL teams. or teams that think they are close to making the playoffs.
  14. "I wish I could remember the guy's name. Big guy, played 1B for us last year. He had a butt this wide."
  15. Hot women in skimpy outfits with the chance of wipeouts vs. shuffleboard on ice is no contest. Those outfits are not as skimpy as they appear. Most of what looks like skin isn't.
  16. That would be really stupid on Baltimore's part. They are more than one player away from competing in that division.
  17. I for one don't believe in keeping the 12 best pitchers. The 12th pitcher gets used rarely and in very low leverage situations(blowouts when the starter sucks). I would rather keep a journeyman for that spot than a young promising pitcher that has options and a future with our team.
  18. It wasn't figure skating that was on though. It was ice dancing, you know, the sport like figure skating for less athletic people.
  19. I have to agree with that. I don't think there are any Brewers that the other players don't really like. Gamel is probably the closest thing and I really don't get the feeling he is disliked by his teammates. Fans on the other hand...
  20. Governor Dodge is a nice state park. I don't think it has all the stuff you are looking for though. You might also look into Devil's Lake although it may be on the outside of how far you are willing to travel and I really have no idea about the camping there.
  21. I know it was a little old, but looking at his BB/9 and K/9 numbers it doesn't seem like he improved since then. Came accross a couple of conflicting reports on his stuff as well. One says he is in the low 90's and touches 95. Another says he is in the high 80's-low 90's. Lofgren and Parra as a comparison. Lofgren BB/9/K/9 5.2/9.3 4.2/8.6 3.5/8.1 4.2/7.7 5.5/7.6 3.1/5.9 Parra BB/9/K/9 1.8/10 1.7/7.6 2.3/9.1 2.1/8.5 4.2/9.4 2.8/8.9 4.7/6.9(2010 4 innings)
  22. Not sure I would like to see this guy stay with us. Definitely would not give up anybody like Salome for him. Found this while looking for a scouting report on him. Link
  23. So they show the Russian/Czech Republic game on NBC and ice dancing at night. Is there any wonder that I have little or no interest in the Olympics.
  24. You don't have to go through the clubhouse to get on the field and shoot birds. As far as I know anyway. Maybe they have rats in the clubhouse. Really big ones with sharp teeth.
  25. So he has a problem with leaving his guns in his vehicle? If they banned them completely from the park I could see how that would be a problem if people wanted to go out to their hunting cabin after the game or something. Not sure why there would be a need to bring them in the clubhouse though.
