  1. I am undefeated. It's only 2-0 though.
  2. Do you mean smart things like batting Soriano lead-off? Really I think we are seeing Sweet Lou have the same problems that Yost had last year with a lack of dependable relievers. A bullpen(and starters going long or short) can make a manager look really smart or really stupid. Edit: Welcome to the board. Sorry if my post seemed rude.
  3. You are going to get squeezed more when you lack control. Earlier in the year he was missing his spots badly, but was still within the zone. It isn't fair because a strike should be a strike, but umpires are human and if you are making the catcher move all over to catch the ball you are less likely to get the calls.
  4. Yeah I think that is right. We could only cut his salary by 20% if we offered him arbitration. I would rather offer him Arby's at this point. Unless he keeps pitching the rest of the year like he is now. Then I wouldn't mind paying him $8M over one year.
  5. I hate the Packers and I have lived in Wisconsin all my life. I like the 49ers. Nice to see another win from our "give-up lineup."
  6. The Brewers website has their capacity at 41,900.
  7. The problem, at least in this thread, is that you haven't shown anything to support your opinion. It is confusing where you are getting your opinion that Durham should start over Weeks from.
  8. I think the Phillies also only offered around $7M. I think they could have had Howard for less if they had made a more reasonable offer. I think $7-8M next year for Fielder.
  9. 5 inning starts, short overworked pen. Sounds familiar. Amazing how smart starting pitching can make a manager look.
  10. All I can think of on that play is the old Lite commercials with Uke sitting up in the nosebleeds yelling"He missed the tag."
  11. I don't think to many people would claim that JJ is a better defender than Escobar. The question always seems to be whether Escobar can hit at the MLB level.
  12. The problem with playing guys on hot streaks is that they usually get played at least one(and probably more) games past when they should. Hall playing this month is the perfect example of playing a guy past his "hot streak." Funny thing is, people are getting back on Hall's bandwagon in the last week and he has actually been pretty cold.
  13. I question it because the difference seems to be minimal over the past 3-4 years. Also average batting lines look to be pretty similar over the last few years. I find that surprising since NL teams have pitchers batting. Unless you are saying that the pitchers and hitters in the NL are the same small step below AL players or that NL pitchers are pretty bad and all the other nonpitchers hitting are more than making up for pitchers hitting. I am not trying to claim I am right, just that I find the stats interesting. ERA differences 2007 .08 2006 .07 2005 .12 2004 .32 2003 .25 Batting Lines 2007 AL.270/.338/.423/.760 NL .266/.334/.422/.756
  14. Still doesn't mean Hall should be starting over Branyan against RHP.
  15. I agree that Hall has been playing to much. I liked the stats you threw out. Kind of puts what Hall's contribution the past couple weeks has actually been into perspective. Looks like he hit 2 timely HR, but has otherwise been a drag on the team.
  16. Just talking about defense I would agree. I think that the big thing people have against moving Hardy to 3B would be that his stats don't translate into what people would typically like to see out of a 3B. League average this year 2B .276/.338/.411/.749 SS .267/.322/.385/.706 3B .268/.338/.441/.780
  17. He was thinking ahead last year when he pulled Zambrano early in the first game of their playoff series. I did like that move. The Brewers might actually have the best manager in the NL Central.
  18. Defensive spectrum C - SS - 2B - CF - 3B - RF - LF - 1B I don't think it would hurt his value much to move him to 2B, but I agree I would hate to see Hardy and Fielder paired up on one side of the IF.
  19. I question whether we should expect a guy moving from the AL to the NL to lower his ERA. This year so far the ERA in the NL is 4.28 and the AL 4.14. The average batting line in the AL is .264/.333/.411/.744 and the NL .258/.329/.411/.740. I know it seems to make logical sense that with the DH more runs would be scored, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
  20. Well I went out on a limb and bought a small sample shirt for my son. I will not be buying BF.net shirts for him in the future. They need to be darker colors. Light color shirts and kids don't mix.
  21. I am not positive, but it looked like that ball was probably in the first row, but was no deeper than the 3rd row. It was tough to tell where exactly the ball hit. The 2 guys in the first row appear to trying to catch it. There are guys in the 4th row who seem to be looking forward at the ball the whole time. Go to the Brewers website and make up your own mind. I am sure there will be several differnt opinions on where it landed.
  22. I think the last at bat just means the last time a team is up to bat.
  23. Not really the same thing. When a guy scores a TD the play is over. What Braun did tonight has Leon Lett potential. If Braun stopped at 2B to admire his HR that would be more like a player celebrating after a TD. I have no problem with a guy skipping around the bases, jumping around and clapping his hands after it is called a HR.
  24. I hope you have some way to watch or keep up with the Brewers on your trip. I almost think your post should be in the vent thread. You might miss some important games while you are gone.
  25. I would, but I know other players have hit balls they thought were out but were not.
