  1. Yes they were. Honestly I think Reyes last year made way more sense than Hamilton does this year. At this point I think they are just trolling.
  2. Still completely ignores the fact that Trout's team won more games in a tougher division.
  3. The Brewers didn't keep one of the lowest payrolls in baseball after Miller Park was built? It is Loria. If it was any other owner people would be upset but the owner could come back and say they were building for the future. Loria can't say that and be believed because of past actions.
  4. It's Loria. If it was any other team there would be no problem.
  5. Ramirez had the 4th best OPS(and wOBA) in the NL. I bet if he wasn't on the same team as Braun there would have been a lot for talk about Ramirez for MVP. If he was playing for let's say the Reds, there probably would have been a lot of talk about how he kept them in the race while Votto was hurt.
  6. I think Cabrera and Posey win. I honestly believe the NL MVP should be much closer than the AL MVP. Braun, McCutchen or Posey could all win in the NL and I don't think there is a clear cut better player amongst the 3. Molina getting much consideration is a joke. He doesn't have the disadvantage of playing in tough ballparks like Headly. Plus it's Molina. The guy is a jerk. In the AL I feel Trout clearly had the better year. Unless you want to completely discount defense and baserunning.
  7. We get Gruit at the Vintage. Not my favorite but it was nice to find something different. Continued here: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=30533
  8. Peralta isn't the guy I would trade. One of our other pitching prospects. I would trade Morris and Aoki though.
  9. I still don't think Florida is a baseball state. As bad as Loria is I don't think the attendance is all his fault. You don't have to look any further than Tampa Bay's attendance to see that. I think the best thing for the franchised would be to remove Loria as owner and move them out of town. That isn't going to happen with the new stadium though.
  10. Yeah Loria has to be by far the worst owner in the league. He needs to be forced out. I don't feel to much sympathy for Miami considering they probably wouldn't support the team anyway but even they deserve better.
  11. It is pretty easy to leave Morris in AAA all of next year. Maybe even a year after that if necessary. Hate to hold a guy back but not much you can do if the MLB guy is playing well.
  12. They probably get nice tax breaks for having debt. Also depending on the loan and what they do with the money they may be better off using the money somewhere else and not paying the debt off.
  13. I didn't dislike Peterson so much as the hype surrounding him. That and his mullet. Can't trust a guy with a mullet.
  14. Not a lot of guys get pinch hit for in the 6th and 7th innings. Not even in the 8th much.
  15. I would take it one step further and say they should crap or get off the pot. Pick one set of rules for both leagues and stick with it.
  16. Sure Brooks Conrad wasn't good but at least he could have backed up more than one position. Really neither was the right choice. Ishikawa was a LH 1B backing up a LH starter. They should have at least brought in a guy who could have played corner OF or 3B in addition to 1B. At the very least they should have brought in a right handed bat to back up 1B. I am sure he would fit in with a team somewhere but the 2012 Brewers out of Spring Training were about the worst fit possible.
  17. Thank you Nyjer for everything you did baseball related. I found your Tony Plush antics boorish. I actually enjoyed him more this year when he just played baseball. Even though I didn't like his antics I don't think he was a clubhouse cancer at any point.
  18. Ishikawa did well but he was not a good fit for our team until Gamel went down. Even then, I would prefer somebody with a little more versatility.
  19. Cannon schmannon, with that much excellent material to build off of it would be foolish to disregard it. GL can say whatever he wants about his version of the Stars Wars universe, but he did authorize everything that was written post episode 6. Regardless he has no say now. Some of it is excellent. Some is not. Sure he authorized stories to be told in his universe but that doesn't mean they are anything more than myths. I wold rather see things taken in a different direction than any of those stories made into movies. They would have to be shortened and not as good.
  20. As was pointed out earlier, none of the books are cannon so they could go in a completely different direction. They could keep the characters and change the stories. They could skip far ahead after the Fate of the Jedi series. As long as Luke is still alive. Haven't read it all through yet. I wish they would have done a little better job hiding which person was the emperor. I think 1-3 would have been much more enjoyable not knowing who was who. As soon as I heard Palpatine I was like, "that's the emperor."
  21. As long as they make another Star Wars Battlefront game pretty soon I will be a happy camper.
  22. Fielder is often among the leaders in WPA. So no, Fielder always tends to deliver the big hit. WPA is much easier to get when you bat in the middle of the order. Much like RBI's.
  23. They each had great years in the Southern League offensively despite a less-than-ideal tools profile. Gamel, obviously, has gone on to do nothing of note. Like I said, I think Morris is a valuable big leaguer, especially if you can platoon him. I am not sure where the less than ideal tools profile comes from. Gamel had good years before AA and Morris didn't. Gamel having success in AA wasn't a surprise. Morris having success at AA was a nice surprise. I thought Gamel was thought of as having a very nice swing and bat. The only questions with him were his defense and attitude.(and the last 3 years his ability to stay healthy)
  24. It really is pretty close and Chipper played quite a few games per year until his age 32 year. Pretty similar stats but Braun plays in a lower run environment. Chipper then Braun. G PA AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB CS BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS OPS+ 927 4068 3466 658 1049 203 18 189 635 97 26 553 526 0.303 0.395 0.535 0.931 138 883 3854 3477 614 1089 223 29 202 643 126 31 305 688 0.313 0.374 0.568 0.943 147
  25. Being in Milwaukee I feel he needs to have a little better stats or be part of a team that wins the division pretty consistently for several years to make it. I do feel that in the current run environment he will not have the traditional HR numbers we are used to seeing from recently retired guys. I am think that may translate to lowered HOF standards. I think Braun is a better power hitter than Chipper was at the same point in their careers. Maybe a better hitter overall also.
