I would absolutely love to sign Kimbrell if he'd take a two year deal.

Bummer, was really looking to see what he could do this season. At least it wasn't an arm injury I guess. We should totally sign Kimbrel if he'd take a two year deal btw.

Based on the video it shouldn’t go away. I have no faith in Manfred to come down on him with any meaningful punishment though.
  4. MillerParkSouth
Agreed, keep them both and sell more merch.
  5. MillerParkSouth
Would have much preferred he go to SF, but thank god this is finally over.
  6. MillerParkSouth
I believe we would lose one yes, but it would be a later pick since we already signed Grandal.

I know there were likely going to be bumps in the road, but ugh.

There's a very good reason that they will never consent to that - most team's fanbases would be absolutely furious i'm sure because it would show that just about the entirety of the league could support materially higher payrolls than they do. I think there are teams that basically have their entire payroll subsidized by revenue sharing.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people are pro ownership. I don’t give a damn about the owners making more money, I want them to spend to put a better product on the field. I’m paying to see the players, not the owners and it’s not like ticket prices will get cheaper if the players make less.

They really sold their soul for that WS. Champman, Russell, Ricketts, now this. They are an incredibly unlikeable franchise on almost all levels.
  11. MillerParkSouth
Happy that he's getting another shot and even happier it's not with us.
  12. MillerParkSouth
I wish the folks in charge of baseball (Manfred) actually liked the sport.
  13. MillerParkSouth
This makes me less confident that the Brewers got a substantial bump in revenue from the naming rights.

You know what would be a bigger joy than watching Arcia (who I like!)? Watching the Brewers in the World Series. The NL Central is going to be a bloodbath this year. If other teams are colluding to not pay top FAs what they're worth, the Brewers should swoop in and try to take advantage to improve their team. Machado is one of the best players in the game, he would look great wearing a Brewers uniform.

Brewers should just offer Machado 3 years/$100MM or something. We have Braun's salary coming off the books soon, the owners can certainly afford it and he would be absolutely perfect on this team. Let's go!

    This...this is horrible.
  17. MillerParkSouth
Brewers should really get involved. I know that it'd be a huge stretch to the payroll, but imagine Machado at SS instead of Arcia!
  18. MillerParkSouth
Well that’s a bummer, would have liked him a lot. Good thing there are still approximately 75 solid 2B options out there.
  19. MillerParkSouth
I would hold out for Lowrie personally, but i'm glad that it seems like they're going to do something.
  20. MillerParkSouth
I'm honestly hoping that Miley comes back at this point. He was incredible last year and if all it takes is a Chacin level investment, then I would much rather go that route than trade prospects and hold our breath that Bumgarner resorts to his pre-injury form.
  21. MillerParkSouth
Baseball’s revenues are growing at a huge pace and yet teams aren’t spending. That’s a big problem. The Cubs are saying they don’t have any money? Get out of here with that nonsense.
  22. MillerParkSouth
Wouldn’t have minded him for 2-3 years but this is incredible. I think it shows how broken the financial system is in MLB when the best player at an incredibly thin position has to settle for a 1 year deal, but I love that we signed him.
  23. MillerParkSouth
lol get out of here San Fran, it's not 2012 anymore. There is no way I would even consider trading any of those guys 1-1 for Bumgarner.
  24. MillerParkSouth
We really should just sign Grandal and be done with it.

The NFL is good again imo
