  1. Brewers have a ton of money apparently
  2. Stole a second round pick with the 12th pick
  3. I was also at the game---actually about ten feet from the bullpen... It was God awful in every way. Even the Braves fans around me were moaning over the replays bc of the time wasted. Wooten and Thornburg were angry when the pitching change was made...they complained loudly about it for 5 minutes after it happened---until wooten went to warmup.
  4. zobrist is currently injured, and may miss a bit of time---and has lost a good deal of both his power and speed
  5. Taylor's got 20! Doubles. He's on pace for a million. He and Coulter are having true breakout seasons.
  6. hindsight is 20/20, but when this guy was drafted, his raw power was his calling card---weird how its turned out. It never hurts to have a decent third catcher in the organization.
  7. Clint Coulter is leading the Midwest league in OPS. Feels good to write that.
  8. because I love price is Right: 1-27
  9. as a non resident, I agree with Pitch league---i don't know who lepay is---and i was really sad that Anderson was gone over the weekend. It reminded me a lot of the Braves broadcasts, where there is nothing at all going on, and then someone mumbles "grounder to segura, 1 out." I know it will get better, but without some kind of background, it was a pretty weak start. Ueck almost never mentions the game and I don't even notice...that's what makes a great announcer...hehe
  10. Jose Reyes will be back on Friday, so I don't think that would factor into the Blue Jays decisions
  11. I agree with every word here...and i love that Luc is getting noticed nationally. All the fantasy baseball guides had him as a top 3 player this year---i had one that rated him as the best overall catcher in baseball. And you know what, maybe he is---I think he's going to make the all-star team this year easily, and depending on if we can get out the vote, it might be as the starter. That said, why pay him now? That's silly---we've got him for several more years. If the Brewers are Jonathan Lucroy away from the World series in 2018, then we should worry about that closer to when his deal expires, but right now lets enjoy the fact that we have an awesome player at what is probably the most team friendly deal in baseball. Besides, his wonderful contract is part of the reason that Week's awful deal hasn't killed this team.
  12. from the amount of playing time he's getting, i sadly think he might be first to go... at some point, Braun's current inability to play everyday i going to cause the Brewers to need more than one backup outfielder---and Lyle Overbay shouldn't be it. In fact, Overbay shouldn't really be on the team either. Weeks is a mess, and the Brewers aren't even really playing him, so why keep him around?
  13. I think Adam Dunn is about to be run out of the league in the 2010's...i don't think he'll find a major league deal after this season and there is no way he sticks around until 2017 as someone above me suggested.
  14. I think Reynolds is going to start at least 80% of the time...he's not had a huge platoon split most of his career, he's just not very great. I can see him having a mild career resurgence and signing a 2 year extension or something in the middle of the season though. why not Matt LaPorta? He's out there...and i think virtually the same age as Reynolds
  15. i was hoping he was worth something to someone, but i guess he isn't...
  16. so, have the Brewers had a first round pick that fared worse than Eric Arnett? obviously, I mean of those that signed?
  17. While I agree with some of the philosophy behind what you are saying since the Brewers are no longer a bottom dweller in payroll, I also appreciate the ability to trade prospects. I think it greatly helps the contending teams, the ones that use their money effectively at least, that they are able to trade their top prospects and let them flame out with someone else. I look on your list and see Matt LaPorta listed as a failed prospect, and while he certainly was, he wasn't for the Brewers---he gave the Brewers one of the best seasons they've ever had---and demonstrates perfectly why he was worth drafting.
  18. To the Mentions of Ike davis and Nick markakis...those comparisons aren't relatable because of the scarcity or quality shortstops... Segura could probably throw out a .670 OPS and still be worth 40 million over the life of that contract. Decent defense and any offense is worth a ton at SS. It's just not an offensive position right now.
  19. They are true---it remains to be determined who gets dropped
  20. if wallace can still play 3b, he'd be worth a minor league grab to stick at AAA
  21. I predict he's awesome in japan, comes back to America weighing about 300 pounds, hits 50 hrs for the Tigers, and in about a decade we draft Prince Betancourt with our first round pick in the draft.
  22. That didn't stop the orioles from canceling their deal with Grant Balfour
  23. knowing doug melvin, it's probably Yuni B
  24. Foamboy's sources have typically been legit in the past, which means this isn't great news... maybe they are trying to revise the contract to reflect the injury revelation rather than dump him completely....
