  1. good point jim...man, that was a surprising while ago...
  2. Hardy skipped High A...
  3. why not hart-weeks-braun-fielder...that keeps the speed and obp on the right side of prince and braun...i don't see any reason to bat hardy before any of those other guys...
  4. Thanks for taking the time to do this...i beg you, please do it as often as possible during the season.. outside of top draft picks, we rarely get first hand accounts on players after the draft...you've probably noticed how hard it is to find out the velocity a pitcher throws at when they aren't jeremy jeffress... omne suggestion---don't depend on the field speed gun---they are usually off by a couple mph...i recommend seeing if a scout or one of the off day starters is using a stalker gun---if so, just chill behind them and read it, or go and ask what the pitcher's throwing...i've never had anyone turn me don on a request, and usually you can chat with them for a bit and get some interesting information...
  5. I sat behind a scout checking anundsen last year on a stalker gun, and he never went over 86 mph... he might throw a little harder than that, but if he hits the 90's, it's 90...and he definitely works in the mid 80's... of course, groundball guys can be successful like that...but if he gives up any homers at all, well, he's yuemiro petit...which we saw today is an iffy proposition
  6. If they call Gamel up, it will be hall that's on the bench...
  7. i'll bet it's cash...we just signed tyner as a fa two weeks ago...it might for nothing at all..
  8. opening a roster spot for cole gillespie would be my guess...
  9. Apparently Riske's got looseness in his elbow...rotoworld suggests he's going to try and feel it out, but tommy john is likely.. i remember when signing him was a good idea
  10. Brae Reminds me of Chris saenz without the major league start...to me, that was the precedent i was looking at...andi thought we might have had him a little too high after an offseason of reflection...
  11. Koshansky is like brendan katin, but a much, much better hitter... i've seen carlos corporan play lots of times and he's never impressed me...you may be right about him going to the majors at some point, but i've always viewed him as 5t-6th on the minor league depth chart...i dunno...maybe he's more like 3rd or 4th at this point, but he just doesn't set the prospect alarm off..
  12. Yeah, i think the average age of that huntsville team is slightly above the 2007 giants... who are these guys?
  13. anyone want to compile all the various injuries her into one post that i can copy and paste into the lead and we can update?
  14. Gillespie's in High A because he can dh there...he'll go to AAA when he's healthy enough to play the field
  15. id love the prince bobble
  16. Cain and gillespie will definitely join this team at some point this season...i'd guess Tyner and TGJ will exit at that point..
  17. I can't think of a solid logical reason for it unless they thought he was a higher injury risk...i can tell you in hindsight, i wish the brewers had switched jones and rogers early on so that maybe they wouldn't have gotten hurt...those guys would both have been high 90's relievers...
  18. billy bragg's little brother?
  19. you underestimate how good i think shawn zarraga is going to be this year...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. I had one on my wrist in september---it was $497 an impingement is rarely serious...but can take lots of time to get over
  21. sounds a lot like something that happened to the brewers---if memory serves, we started kapler over gwynn...i suspect the rays will as well..
  22. Sergio Miranda is the exact same player as zelous wheeler...in other words, he's a fringe top 50 guy...i wouldn't be surprised if he was acquired for cash, if he was actually acquired...if we traded Gwynn for him, we may have actually lost in the deal
  23. This is the first time I've sen this thread...pretty awesome and inspiring
  24. I bet you a dollar that the subtlety of The Road is lost for the sake of cannibals as well...
  25. wuthering heights by Kate Bush
