  1. one of our uneeded outfeilders for a backup infielder who doesn't suck? sounds like a plan to me..
  2. spring training results by starting pitchers should never worry you...so long as cappy is healthy and his velocity hasnt dropped remarkably, he will probably be very similar to last season...
  3. Braun is no wiz, but the overreactions about his defense continue to astonish me... he had a bad run in spring training...but he's still got plenty of skill to man the position in the majors...otherwise the brewers and all of their scouts and trainers and coaches would have made some attempt to move him from the position...he'll be fine, and i would think this has more to do with service time than it does 5 spring training games...
  4. i think the brewers want darren to cut his swing down a bit...i'm not sure i agree with this assessment, but the crew wnats darren to hit more line drives and grounders and cut back on the flyballs. Even though he projected a good amount of power last season, i believe the brewers would like him to focus on his contact skills... or at least that what comments from darren make it seem like...can't think of another reason they'd have him repeat (besides the obvious and unstoppable cole gillespie freight train!)
  5. who was playing center in the WV game?
  6. 1. Steven Chapman -- my expectations are very high 2. Cole Gillespie --- I think he'll be a starter in AA by July 3. R.J. Seidel --- I'm intrigued by mysteries 4. Steve Garrison --- Could be exciting really fast 5. Brad Nelson --- This is his last chance...and i' think he'll prove he's still got a future..
  7. nope...cain is ahead of fermaint...but chuck is right behind...i think gillespie is ahead of both...we're stocked on center fielder...in fact, all six of the outfielders mentioned could play center, with brantley being the only one that shouldnt...
  8. i think the implication is that fermain will repeat at A+, so it will be Cain/Gillespie/fermaint, with WV being Brantley/Ford/Chapman
  9. thanks for the updates...how are darren and lorenzo handling the idea that they might be split to start 2007?
  10. Brent is a man of few words, but talent and confidence are not lacking...
  11. hope i'm not stepping on anyones toes...but the making this the vent thread sounded like a good idea...
  12. Welcome about Joshua! Thanks so much for hooking me up with the guys---Keep an eye out for the rest of the interviews, as they will be popping up over the next month! -Brad Jiles
  13. inman ia actually 5'11"-6'0" he's definitely not any shorter than that...who has him at 230? good grief...maybe 190...but he's not 230 yet...he's an athletic looking guy..
  14. ford and cain are going to be extremely dissapointed to be seperated at the start of the year
  15. wow on the darren ford thing...that seems a little crazy...
  16. inman can throw 94-95 according to the two times i've seen him pitch...now i'm sure that wasn't a perfect read, but i'd say he works more like 91-93 than 90-92...this isnt ben hendrickson, inman has a very good arm...and i dont get the siz thing...inman is about 5'11 180...i've stood next to the guy and he had the same build as me, but more toned... i guess i dont get why prospects get downplayed so often when they are with milwaukee...i think it has something to do with the fact that the guys writing these reports have never seen them play
  17. ouch... of course, i wasnt the only one to read the interview before it was posted...
  18. pssshaw! you want to check all the facts? We're community based after all
  19. that's a good suggestion and i'm sure we can do that...
  20. inman is a great third prospect, but he was in low a last year and he didnt throw that many innings...most of the other guys on that list are huge prospects, or at least closer to the majors..
  21. Drew's a good hitter, but his hitting skill set doesnt really match his defensive position...i think the brewers will get him some more at bats this year, but he projects to have a .750-.800 ops in the majors, so its not likely that he'll ever be a starter
  22. jorge depaula signed with the rockies, not the crew... link: Rotoworld Link
  23. the exploding hearts have a new b-sides album out as well... i havent heard it yet, but i'm sure it's good... if you like the poppy stuff on armed forces a lot, imperial bedroom is excellent...it's hard to go wrong with anything elvis costello did pre-1987
  24. i've got excite truck on the way...i bought wii play as well...not worth 50 bucks...but $10? hey, why not...
