  1. Cabrera would be awesome...but I think Hall will put up 95% of the stats that he will over the next 3 years...so he's not worth trading hall+ say Braun for...
  2. I'm leaning that way myself...I wouldn't trade Hall for Wells or Crawford, so who is available that's worth hall? we've needed .900 OPS guys for a few years, and Hall is right there---and cheap---and ours---for three more years...i dwouldn't trade hall for anything less than Miggy Cabrera or David Wright---and I'd have to think about those guys...Hall as an infielder is in the same league as those guys, so why do we want to trade him? The only proposed deal i'd think about is Jake Peavy, and honestly, I think the Pads would have to kick in a pretty good prsopect with him to make up for the fact that peavy will be a free agent sooner...
  3. This is really for Patrick... I just noticed there's a guy in the study hall I work in wearing a perfect game usa t-shirt, and i was wondering if there is anyone on the draft rader here. So, anyone at North Carolina - Greensboro have a shot at a pro career? I know the program here isn't nationally known, but they do a decent job of competing against big time schools like UNC and UGA...
  4. I think that's largely because they have nearly identical win loss records and ip... sheets has a much better ERA (and likewise ERA+) as well as something like 300 more strikeouts... pavano's not as bad as his reputation currently has it...but pavano isn't that much like sheets....i'd say he is much more like doug davis....
  5. I understand that there are lots of decent arms in the high minors clancy...but inman's got special talent... If he stays healthy for the next two years, he'll jump over all those guys with the exception of sheets and yo... i would rather the brewers just released manny parra than make inman wait in line behind him...
  6. i would argue that hart prince and braun (who btw, has NOT played in AAA yet) only stayed in AAA as long as they did because they were blocked... afterall, the brewers moved fielder to the majors to ride pine...same with hart...i don't think they take it very seriously...the top prospects push somebody out of the way...everybody else just chills until they are inevitably trade (eveland krynzel) or released...
  7. i don't really believe in AAA... I don't think anyone gets better there---i think that players prove themselves in AA, then AAA is just a holding pen...i think AA success is much more indicative of what a guy will do in the majors than AAA and i think the brewers tend to agree, considering they have jumped a few guys up in the last few years...i think milwaukee uses AAA to get a good look at you, but i don't think success there really helps your career in milwaukee... just ask ben hendrickson... of course, this is just myu opinion...but i kinda agree with the idea that a guy like TGJ is more useful as the 5th outfielder for the brewers than he is in AAA...but maybe not with a pitcher like zach jackson...
  8. the only pitcher better than Inman is Yo, and that could be debateable after next year... I've seen both, and inman dominates as much as yo does... I like those other guys, but how can you discount a guy who has mid 90's heat and impeccable control? its your call...but inman has to be the 3rd best prospect in the system...
  9. clark for pavano, with the yankees paying him all but 2 million a year until whenever the heck his contract is up...
  10. we're going to get a second round sandwich pick for ohka, right?
  11. trading hall doesnt seem like a great idea at the moment, but i'm enjoying all the trade rumor threads this offseason... i would take this one about as seriously as me trying to ship of tony gwynn jr. last year...
  12. while there was a bit of vinegar in endarounds statement, the point still stands: finley is mid 40's---and guys in their mid forties don't come back once they fall down...that's why rickey henderson is gone, and not coming back... the only example that stands against this is julio franco, and i'm pretty sure he brokered adeal with the devil to make it happen
  13. i think most favor weeks at second however, when trying to fill our Cf hole (if you think we have one) many have astutely noticed that guys like juan pierre and dave roberts are getting crazy money to hit about the same as a guy like graffy or loretta.. so, instead of weeks + Roberts (and 8 million dollars), we get weeks +graffy (and 3 million) and lose no production whatsoever, sans about 35 stolen bases..
  14. How about Tony Graffanino? If the brewers can resign the guy for 2 years at 5 million, and move weeks to Center, then I think they'll be a better team.. I know its not too exotic a move, but Graffy is better than Loretta at this point in their careers...and its a real possibility..
  15. I think Corey Hart's peak will look alot like Geoff Jenkins peak.. .300/.375/.550 with about 35 homers probably not next year, but maybe 2008...he's good...and i don't think it will take him very long to prove it...
  16. I like BK Kim...and i can't believe he's still 27, but he's been horrible for years now...and he didnt pitch well at all last year, even though everyone else did great in coors... if it came down to him for brady, i wouldn't do it...brady is a great reserve player and Kim has no value at all to me..
  17. id rather have 3 catchers than 14 relief pitchers or 7 outfielders...
  18. Rivera isn't going to catch everyday, so the brewers need someone else...a player like zaun makes the team better, so i have no qualms having both on the team... I'd love to give Zaun 400 ab's and miller or rivera 200 a year... it works out...Rivera might actually have a little trade value if zaun is signed..
  19. Give zaun the same 3 year 9 million dollar deal they gave damian, and then he can start for 2 years after damian leaves next year. this would be a good one...
  20. yeah, a jenkins mench platoon would be good...but i wasnt considering mench because 3+ million is waaaaay to much for the right handed half of a platoon...the brewers can find someone cheaper to do the job (bobby kielty?)
  21. I don't think jenkins for crisp is a match...but i do think turnbow would be...he fits the redsox needs better...besides, an outfield of Hart/Crisp/Jenkins with hall at third this year would be pretty good...especially if the team brought in a platoon mate for jenkins
  22. I think Gallardo is great, and I'd like to see the brewers hold onto him... but: If you really believe that this is the rbewers only window to compete in the next 5 years (I don't) then a trade should be a realistic possibility...If the brewers were willing to trade a couple of their top prospects for other teams stars, they could easily make a run this year...I honestly think they are gonna make a run at 85+ wins either way, but gallardo could net something big for the brewers... either way, he's a stud
  23. so far, no one has anything right...
  24. ign.com has reviews for most everything...
  25. I'd take Beltre in that situation, but it would be tough to get him for that... i'm not sure the mariners ae trying to dump him...think they are just shopping him...
