  1. I agree with the Tim Dillard selection. let him host the pregame show. It will be awesome.
  2. For as lousy as Gilbert Lara was in July, he's been on fire in August...now sporting a .389/.415/.500 ops for the month. I know it feels like he should be older, but he's still 18.
  3. I think they don't like losing money---and a lot of the franchises are losers, that's why we see teams moving around all the time. I would guess that the Brewers, like most other teams would rather farm out the system so that they don't take on the risk of losing millions of dollars in a city that stops supporting minor league baseball. let someone else assume the risk.
  4. Corey Ray now has a .905 ops in August. He's hitting like the top prospect he is...
  5. Why? Just see what Broxton can do. There's no value in signing him now. you're correct---but nieuwenheis and flores suck. if he costs the minimum, i fail to see the harm
  6. his velocity would absolutely work in the pen I actually worried about him last night, because I'm afraid he was pushing to try and stay in the majors and might hurt himself
  7. I'd bring back Pinto and Dillard. I wouldnt be surprised to see Pinto re-added to the 40 man after the season. Dillard I'd keep for his twitter account. It's solid gold.
  8. Tyler Naquin and Jake lamb made a similar adjustment this year as well, and it definitely worked for those guys
  9. I know it's a small sample, but Corey Ray has a 1.2 OPS in August.
  10. Mendez was thought to be a part of the trade by some initially, so it makes sense
  11. AA wRC+: Orlando Arcia 126 plus a 1.337 OPS in the playoffs Nomar Mazara 123 Francisco Lindor 114 followed by an 88 wRC in his first 180 AAA at-bats Arcia may never hit like that before and may never again, but saying he is a weak bat isn't entirely the case. Arcia can hit very well---unlike Alcides escobar, who i suspect a lot of you guys will start comparing him to almost immediately, Arcia has a great line drive swing and developing power. We should view him in the mold of early JJ Hardy.
  12. Barrett astin is pitching great in AA---unfortunately, the Brewers traded him for Jonathan Broxton in 2014
  13. I bet he's weepin tears of joy--- and "earned it" is totally subjective and we have no idea what individual things the Brewers might have each player working on before they get moved up
  14. I'm almost certain they will move at least one more reliever
  15. I think Stearns use of Aaron Hill shows how they will approach Garza---there just isnt a reason to dump him completely until after august 31st 2017, so i imagine the Brewers will continue to try and get something out of him. Who knows, maybe he'll move to the pen and be lights out and be worth an actual prospect at the deadline next year. That is worth a try before dumping him for sunk cost.
  16. David Stearns has been gm for 1 year. Another year of prospect pickups like this, and we could compete with the cubs. i love that he just gets good players with no concerns about building a well rounded team---that will come. the only way to get superstars is just to pack as many high level prospects as possible in. The Brewers must develop superstars bc they can't get them long term any other way.
  17. He strikes me like the kind of guy that cares greatly about leading the league in sb's and gets reckless when he feels challenged...that's why he takes such idiotic leads off of 1b.
  18. Which passes the eye test too. Gets a high amount of dribblers back to himself too. That comeback pitch on the low outside corner to righties is such a good pitch, was just thinking last night how it looks like Greg Maddux, who also got weak contacts and dribblers back to himself a lot. I was thinking the exact same thing about Maddux...obviously he's not that good, but 90% of Greg maddux would still be an all star
  19. I believe Clancy's santa claus like adoration of Brent Suter is strong enough to make him a good pitcher. when people ask for a scouting report on Suter, the response should simply be "BELIEVE"
  20. that's correct, we're discussing who might make it all the way through without being claimed by another team. So, assume Arcia is put on waivers---he gets claimed immediately by the Braves. garza on the other hand gets claimed by no one, and therefore has cleared waivers and can be traded to any team in the league. If a guy gets claimed, he can be: given to the claiming team, traded to the claiming team, or pulled back by the Brewers.
  21. I see the 2017 outfield as Braun/Broxton/Santana---unless Braun is moved to 1st base bc of a Carter trade, then perez will be there in 2018, I see Braun/Brinson/Santana---Phillips or Ray could be ready at this point, and I assume they will be there to supplant failure by Brinson/Santana The earliest I think Clark is a possibility is 2019. Braun will be here until the end of his contract, imo
  22. he skipped three full levels and is playing in the worst hitting environment there is. I expected worse than this
  23. The interest in Braun seems to have been the Matt kemp deal, but Braun instead of Kemp.
  24. Boyer, Torres, and Marinez.. they might not clear, but you can always make a trade with the team that claims them Martin Maldonado. He will clear, and even if his d is pretty good, he otherwise sucks and so he should clear Garza, obviously clears
  25. Yeah, I can't believe more people aren't acknowledging this. The Brewers have now dealt Jeffress for a big haul (Greinke the first time) twice. whatever he's done on the field, that's pretty cool
