  1. I was at the exhibition game Friday and I'm pretty sure Hart got booed. I have a feeling he and Edmonds are going to split time with the better man getting more starts as time goes on. I'm okay with that.
  2. Not to be a downer this early, but I have a feeling that double-play might happen a lot when you have Gomez in the 2 spot.
  3. I am not an NBA fan by any means and I read this news and just felt awful. I feel very bad for all you Bucks fans, it really sucks.
  4. I'm not a huger gamer, BUT I still play my EA MVP 05 game for Gamecube on my Wii console and wouldn't mind updated rosters and players. A lot has changed since 2005, you know... I had to create 15+ guys just to have the 2010 Brewers team. So this thread is making me want to get a PS3 just for The Show and maybe for the Blu-Ray and Internet extras. Is the $300 model the cheapest version you can get? How much memory do you really need to play The Show and maybe another couple of games at one time? Is The Show way way better than MVP 05? I realize it's an old game and the graphics aren't even close... but I think it was the best baseball game ever made for awhile. Sorry... not a big gamer and you guys seem to know the answers to these questions.
  5. The perhaps "mentally weak" Manny Parra doing his best to give Jeff Suppan that 5th rotation spot.
  6. Witrado has also decided to start rumors that Braun is unhappy in Milwaukee and may be traded. Nobody should pay much attention to what he "writes".
  7. I would be okay with that too. I just really don't want to lose Narveson, Bush, or Parra to waivers - because we're going to need them at some point this year in the rotation. I wish Suppan could start the season in the pen but I just don't believe it will happen... even though it should. Bush and Narveson are pitching great.
  8. Very excited for this, can't wait to see the first batch of deals. Thanks, Brewers.
  9. I got a Fan's Choice 20 pack this year and didn't get a "sorry note". And my seats definitely weren't as close to home plate as I would've liked. Oh well. Also, anyone get their April 2/3 tix in the mail yet? That is coming up and I haven't gotten anything... but my credit card was of course charged.
  10. Crazy Heart was "The Wrestler" with a different profession. Maggie G = Marissa Tomei. Jeff Bridges = Mickey Rourke. Same movie. Nothing to get that worked up about. If you're going to rip off a movie idea you could at least wait 5+ years til the ADD-ridden American public have forgotten about the old movie. And you could tell by the way the costume designer chick walked up that she thought she was really something special. What a knob. I was really pulling for the girl from An Education to get Best Actress even though I knew she didn't have a chance. Although I liked the Blind Side, I don't think Sandra Bullock deserved an Oscar for it. And I had seen all of the Best Picture nominees except Precious (I didn't feel like being depressed when my girlfriend watched it), and I personally thought District 9 and Inglorious Basterds were a cut above the rest. I heard a lot of hype about almost all of the movies that were nominated in this category - and both D9 and IG still managed to be better than I expected them to be. Inglorious Basterds was very fun and satisfying, but I think District 9 was the best done and most interesting/thought provoking film of the year. At least Avatar didn't win, but I just thought the Hurt Locker was good... but not THAT good.
  11. I'm pretty sure that is the part where John Locke shows Walt how to play backgammon in the pilot. He talks to him about how "one side is dark, one side is light".
  12. They initially wanted to kill Jack in the very first episode but ABC said no.
  13. That isn't true at all. I've heard the head writers say themselves that they have been writing these episodes as they go. In one of their most recent podcasts they said they hadn't done a podcast in awhile because they were busy writing out how the series will end. Can you link me to anything confirming they wrote the whole thing in advance? I'd love for you to be correct, but I don't think you are.
  14. Agreed. Austin is definitely where you want to go. I know people that live there. It's very liberal, not much like the rest of Texas, great arts/music scene, SXSW, go there.
  15. I would like to add that Time Warner Cable is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with in my life. I have had cable off and on with them over the past 10 years and they can be some of the most inept, rude, and unhelpful customer service reps ever. My latest example was when I moved this past fall... our new building provides basic cable and internet for free/included in the rent. So I was very happy that I finally had Time Warner out of my life. Until I realized that I can't live with basic cable on my HDTV... I needed to have HD again. So I decided to call Time Warner every other day for about 2 weeks to get a quote on what the price would be to upgrade to HD/Digital Cable. Every single time I called the quote was different. I realize rates change but they don't change that often. This company is awful and if I could avoid them I would. I have never had the chance to try UVerse.
  16. I'm getting very frustrated (again) with this show. I think I've liked one or two of the new season episodes so far. I don't want more questions, I want a lot of answers. I guess I just expected the pacing to speed up now that they have an ending to write towards... and it still feels like hardly anything happens until the last 15 minutes of each episode... and then the payoff is not enough. If I can talk my girlfriend into it, I may start DVRing a bunch at a time and watching them without commercials. I swear that show has more commercials than anything else on television.
  17. I called this morning and made sure I was on the list for that... because I just ordered my 20 pack 2 or 3 weeks ago. He said an email should be going out today.
  18. did any of you get an email with information about the April 2 and 3 exhibition games yet? Just want to make sure I'm not missing out.
  19. why can't you buy tickets to the two exhibition games @ miller park yet?
  20. On Tuesday I watch Lost. I'm still frustrated but I'm almost to the end... so I'm not stopping now. Wednesday: Modern Family. My favorite new show. Thursday: I also watch the holy trinity of Community, Parks and Rec, and the Office. Parks and Recreation is consistently the best show on Thursday night. I'm not into 30 Rock at all. Community is pretty hit or miss, but I'm hoping it gets better.
  21. I used the deal 2 or 3 times and it was great. Please continue this in 2010!
  22. It's definitely still there, we played there the last two times we were in Minneapolis. Great place, but haven't had the food before.
  23. I wasn't happy with last night's episode... but then again I've been complaining about this show for 2-3 years now. I gave up on the show in Season 4 but got back into it when my girlfriend started watching it. I thought Season 1 was the best season of television possibly ever, and then after that they knew they had a hit on their hands and milked it for the next few years. It was quite obviously slowing down in pace to me, but in Season 5 it seemed like they were starting to write towards an ending so I'm now back in. I just don't want more and more questions... it's time for answers and I'm anxious. I hope they start coming forward with a lot of them by mid-season. Also... does anyone else think Mac from IASIP looks exactly like JJ Hardy? I can't get past the resemblance.
