  2. Nice move. Surprised it took this long. With the 40 man roster full I assume there's a corresponding move (likely Kintzler to the 60-day DL).
  3. If options have anything to do with it, I'd go with Scarpetta since he's been up once already. If it's strictly on talent, I'd go with Peralta.
  4. Again, I can play sometimes but won't be able to play all the time. Thus, if you're short and you need me and I can make it work, great. However I'll be out of town for at least 4 of the upcoming weeks.
  5. I wouldn't mind getting together at all since I'm new to the squad this year.
  6. As much as our system has "declined", I haven't seen this many legitimate major league pitching prospects in the Brewers system in a long time. Peralta is like a bulldog out there. Rivas looked sharp. Scarpetta looked great. Thornburg showed his stuff, Heckathorn looks like a pitcher as well. I echo the comments on Merklinger. He surprised me the most. I expected the aforementioned five to impress me, and they did, but Merklinger looked like a big league pitcher right now. He's someone to keep an eye on, especially with his offseason addition to the 40 man roster. Offensively, it was nice to see Taylor Green go deep. Other than that, not a lot to get me excited. Off the cuff comments:1) Scooter Gennett looks to be about 13 years old. Yet another reason to believe he's the next Craig Counsell.2) Martin Maldonado does his eyebrows. Wow.
  7. Good. If you've got a spot for me, I'm in.
  8. I'd like to play this year. What nights are we looking at?
  9. "Open Your Eyes (you're missing a great game!)"

  11. A buddy and I had a convo about it this morning and got it down to simplicity...if you're Mark A. would you rather: 1) Waste $12M and have a good chance of losing every 5 days2) Waste $12M and have a better chance of winning every 5 days Seems simple to me.
  12. Adam thinks something might be up as well..... http://bit.ly/bPm9zH
  13. Since he had 5 RBI today I bet it isn't him or at least if it was him they won't go ahead and make the move today. Yup, you're right.
  14. How much do you want to bet that this is the "unpopular decision" Macha is going to make today? Edmonds out.
  15. Suppan is a pitch to contact pitcher who must have great control of his pitches, good movement, and a great defense behind him. Health, improved defense, and perhaps new tricks from the pitching coach could help him salvage the last year of his big contract. Am I expecting him to be an ace, heck no...but could he be a .500 pitcher and hold down that #5 spot for us? You bet. We're going to have to pay the contract either way, let' see if we can't get some value out of him yet.
  16. I honestly think the writing is on the wall, and Dave Bush is going to be the odd man out. Sad, I've always been a fan. When he got hurt last year he just lost it.
  17. I would almost guarantee at this point that unless there is an injury or trade, the Brewers will have an all-lefty bench (although that won't be the case from day to day).
  18. I would think it'll be Kottaras out of the gate, give Lucroy a chance to get some AAA exposure (he hasn't seen that level yet), and see what the summer brings. I'm almost certain we'll see Lucroy gain this job before years' end.
  19. Many a wise man has said that those who make decisions based on AZ (or FL, but in this case AZ) is a fool. With that being said, Narveson's solid work is also on the heels of a very impressive September. He's given us something Parra never has: results. The same can be said for Suppan, and to some extent, Bush. I know many have spoken of keeping them all to keep our options open. And I would agree to some extent. Here's my decisions based on the current situation: Suppan will be the #4, Narveson will be the #5. Parra to the pen. Bush will be traded or released, saving us some salary. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Macha raves about Narveson, you hardly hear him speaking of Bush in such glowing tones. I know they love Parra's potential but the time for potential is in the past. Let him have some time in the pen and working with Rick Peterson. Let's give Suppan's new found "movement" and his experience one last chance to earn all the money we have to pay him either way. I read another poster allude to a possible BABIP improvement in Suppan just because of the improved middle defense (Weeks > Lopez; Escobar > Hardy; Gomez > Cameron). I'd agree. He's a pitch to contact pitcher, his success his largely contingent on the defense behind him. Well that was certainly long winded. The moral of my post? Narveson has earned a rotation spot, not just from his solid spring, but the carryover from his solid September as well. I'd love to see what he does with a full opportunity.
  20. Cain's looking really strong this spring. It'd be awesome to see him show 20-25 HR power this season in Nashville, it would give us a solid RF option for the future if indeed Gomez works out.
  21. Classy move, but I wouldn't expect anything else of Doug.
  22. got mine today!
  23. I have a sneaking suspicion that this is not the last we'll hear of Mr. Lofgren.
