That is of course he is still in school then. Going off what I know about him, he would have fit in perfectly to FSU(see the Outside the Lines this weekend).Being a teacher in Madison, including summer school the last two years......yep, I agree with jwill 100%. I would be careful when I compare anyone to Maymon. His record as a student is very shady, and in fact, very, very bad. He was incredibly un-popular with his teachers. Very sad to see....hopefully he really has turned it all around at MU

It was a very good weekend for Badger hockey.....this will put them in the top ten for sure. Penalties could be the difference between this team doing great things and failing.....we take a lot of penalties in bad situations. Goody was great in goal this weekend! The sky is the limit with this team

Good Win over MU.......tough to watch at points, but a good win non-the-less. Takes some of the sting off of the UWGB loss. Leuer, Hughes, Taylor all look great!

It sounds like GB played a perfect game for them. I am really impressed (or disappointed I guess) that UW could give up over 80 points to GB, yet hold Duke under 70. Basketball can be a strange game...... This adds some spice to the UW - MU matchup

As a UW Senior, I was at the 03 championship clincher and didnt storm the court. I stayed in my lower student section seat and just watched.....it was cool. People were going nuts. I have to tell you all, last night as I was watching the game, I was jumping up and down, yelling, going crazy. It was great! Its great to see Bo Ryan win a big game every now and again, because he is a great coach who still probably does not get the respect that he has earned over a long and fantastic career.

Maymon is going to struggle against other "bigs" in the Big East. He is maybe 6'5", at best. Dont believe me, stand next to him......Blue (6'4") is almost the same height. He got away with this hight in Wisconsin High School ball, but when he starts playing against the big time opponents, he is going to have to play a lot quicker than he has shown the ability to. He is a very left handed player.....but the kid has the ability to improve, and it wouldnt surprise me if he changed from mostly a post in HS to a wing type player in college. Marq. fans should remember to relax this season and take whatever wins they get.....the team is very young and Blue will be a major stud next season. If they can land JP Tokoto (only a soph, but a bigger recruit than even Blue according to everywhere you look) the Warriors could really, really be good.

It may just be me, but when Redd plays the team slows its pace down. Which makes them not as fun to watch, and thus far, not as good of a team. Redd out = Bucks more likely to win. I have always supported Redd, but I am beginning to lean in the direction of trading him. I never thought I would say that...... -
I agree 100%. Our super defensemen are great, but get too aggressive and thus give up a ton of odd-man rushes. The shorthanded goal tonight was the difference, and that cannot happen to a team with a blue line roation of first and second round draft picks. From the sound of the guys on the radio, Goody must have been great in goal or it could have been worse. Big weekend against Michigan Tech next weekend, can they finally get 4 points?

Wisconsin crushes highly ranked Michigan State, in their house, 7-3. Finally, our shot on goal begin to find the net! Big matchup against Michigan tomorrow night. GO BUCKY!

FTJ, nice work on the video and the kid has some serious passrushing skills. The final play had me laughing pretty good! Great tune as well. Your kid does have some competition from the second video.....those hits are freakin great -
Gonzaga travelled all over the court. But they also hit some very difficult, contested shots and made a lot of key plays. And the Badgers did take a lot of bad shots......probably a product of the fact they played a very tough game less than 24 hours ago.....That game was competitive and the better team probably won. Not a bad showing though. The Zags will be ranked next week for sure. Jordan Taylor looked great off the bench, and Leuer is a stud. They have got to get more out of Jarmuz. If Nakivil would have hit the dunk to start the second half it would have been a different game. But all in all, it was a fun game to watch. Now they need to play Maryland tough tomorrow afternoon. Bo usually bounces back well.

No matter how ugly it was, a win against Arizona on ESPN is a big win for UW......it gives them a little bit of credit for later when they pick the tourney. Keep it up Badgers! Now on to a much tougher team, Gonzaga......anyone else think the Zag's coach (Mark Few) looks like Sherman from American Pie all grown up? Watch and see........

Badgers bounce back and win 4-1. Good game all around. Killed off a 5 minute major penalty without damage.....thats the way this team can play. They do tend to let us down at times, because of the huge amount of talent on the roster. But when they play well, its fun to watch. An interesting side note, charter in madison carried the st. cloud student broadcast on channel 83 tonight. Very cheesy between periods, but with the radio on and the tv muted, it was nice to watch the game.

Badger football and their damn zone defense. Cover somebody and perhaps you could be 9-2, or 10-1, or 11-0. Please, just once, come out of the zone.....

Tough loss tonight, 11/20 - 4 to 1. Badgers were not on TV, however the radio guys made it sound like they missed several attempts at open shots and open nets. Once again, the Badgers dominate the stat sheet but do not convert. They gave up two goals in the last minute (one empty net), so the game was much closer than the score. Gotta get two points tomorrow night!

Just an update - For those of you that are Hockey fans......I am a friday night season ticket holder. I have yet to miss a saturday night game as well. So far, the Kohl Center has not sold out for games. It is a lot of fun to hit up a local bar for a few, then walk down and get a ticket for the Saturday game. And if you have never been to one, they are very fun. If your worried about traffic, park at Luckys or the Stadium bar and ride the bus for free. That is a good time too. I also wanted to pose a question for the fans out there - Have any of you travelled to the away games in the WCHA and if so, do you care to share your experiances? NeedMoreFans, myself, and a few others are looking to travel at some point this season, and are wondering what place would be a great time for us...Minnesota would be fun, but I am curious to know if anyone has tried any of the smaller arenas in the WCHA. Counsell is cheap, plays hard, and is like a coach on the bench. If the guy sits, he wont complain. I understand that he probably will not be as good next year as he was this year, but if he wants to come back, why not? I dont think having him as an option off the bench will hurt the team. I would like to see Counsell end his career on a high note, so if we let him go, good luck to him. His new swing could get him a few more years in the bigs. It sure would be nice to ask Doug Melvin what he thinks at this point

If Fielder and Braun are both in the top 6, that would be awesome! Prince will take second behind baseball Jesus. If he does not, it will be a crime. But with the way these awards are given.....nothing will surprise me!

Saturday nite update....win 6-2.....Once again, domination. They sure look good when the team plays together. Very tough matchup against St. Cloud next weekend. Go Bucky!

5-1 Bucky Wins! It was a great game. Bennett scored UAA's goal by kicking it in on himself. I have to agree, we completely dominated this game. It is kind of fun to see a 60 min. game with 63 mins. of penalties. Very scrappy game, lots of hits, cheap shots, but fun to watch. If they play like that, they are a very good team. Can we do it 2 nights in a row, and a better question, can they do this against a good team?

He is an awesome talent at the plate and its cool that the Crew has locked him up for a while. We need to enjoy his offense while we have it! And to be mentioned in the same breath as Molitor is pretty huge in the realm of the Brewers! -
Great topic, and I have enjoyed reading all of your comments! I confess that Diet Pepsi does some of the same things that Dew does. This summer I was drinking a 6 pack of it a day, and not only is it not good for me, but it was getting expensive. I have cut back to around 2 a day, with a goal of going to all water by the new year. Going cold turkey on soda does give me headaches. I will have to find a cure to that! DHonks I teach at a Madison High School and the same thing that is going on in AZ is hitting us here. I have been the low guy on the ranking list for three years, and two years in a row my position has been cut. Both times, someone happened to leave our school and they kept me around. But at the end of each year, when budget cuts are needed, it hits the young teachers. Our school has cut positions in all four years I have been teaching, in every department. So each year I have been trying to find ways to make myself more valuable to the school. Coaching has helped, as I coach hoops and baseball. But at the end of the year, I sit and wonder where I will be. I have been lucky in the fact that the school keeps finding positions for me. Unfortunately, I have been teaching in several different subjects and departments because of this. So my resume is a mess! A friend (and frequent poster on BF) just locked down a spot in Madison by paying to get his special ed certification. Teachers here can help the cause by doing that, but then again, that is a very difficult field to get involved in. But that is not free! I feel for everyone out there who has specialized training, and yet, cannot find (or lock down) a job that is "perfect" for them. This market is tough. Hang in there!
