  1. Not a Sproat fan. I don't see how he is any better than Myers, except for service time.
  2. REALLY hard to believe we had to throw in Myers as well...
  3. I DO NOT want Jones or Dominguez in a return for Freddy. I don't like their profiles, and they seem to be pretty over-rated due to being in the Yankees system. Please, do not make either of these guys the main piece in a Peralta trade... Please don't make them ANY piece in a Peralta trade, I just don't want either player. The Yankees are continuing to show interest in Freddy Peralta, sources tell The Athletic’s Chris Kirchner. Would the Brewers want Jasson Domínguez, who could be available with Cody Bellinger back in New York? The Yankees also have major league starting pitching to part with in the form of Luis Gil, Will Warren or even the newly acquired Ryan Weathers. If the Brewers do decide to pull the trigger and deal their ace, this does seem like the most obvious trade fit. Source: The Athletic
  4. *click* That's the sound of the phone being hung up on the Mets then...
  5. It would be a major disappointment if we don't get a bat that contributes immediately in 2026. Not some light hitting prospect who can play all over the infield, but really not contribute to our biggest needs. We have a wealth of infielders coming soon, no need to add to that log-jam. That Mets package is about as unexciting as it gets. Like someone said above, if that's our best offer, keep Freddy and take the pick. Don't want to give him away, and having him at the top of our rotation is still a good thing!
  6. Well, we've had teams in the past try to buy championships with varying degrees of success, however, we have never seen what the Dodgers have done, and continue to do as far as actually buying championships. This is a new level of nonsense never seen before. Deferred money has raised the level of craziness allowed by MLB. I don't see any way out of this mess now that the ball is rolling. I think there used to be a chance that a given team had a chance to catch lightning in a bottle and have things work out magically for a chance at a world series title. Now, I think those odds are far worse than ever before. I no longer believe a have-not team like the Brewers have a chance in hell at winning the world series. The odds were always stacked against us, now those odds are insurmountable.
  7. I'd do it for Tong and Baty to be honest.
  8. I think he is slated for their everyday 1B since they lost Alonso and signed Bichette. Not so sure they are willing to move him.
  9. Rays 2B prospect Jadher Areinamo won Rookie of the Year in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League. Areinamo was shut down after just 36 games in the winter season, but that was more than enough time to impress. The 22-year-old hit .364/.420/.692 with 13 home runs, 43 RBI, and five steals. He was acquired from the Brewers at the deadline last year for Danny Jansen. This has the makings of a great return after Areinamo also impressed in 131 games split between High-A and Double-A last year.
  10. I'm going out on a limb and predicting Freddy is gone by Tuesday. Sadly, I have a gut feeling it's to the Dodgers, but at the very least we need to fleece them, so hopefully the return in tremendous.
  11. DVD Purge: Starting some "D" movies, but still have a couple "C" movies left. Crimson Tide - Intense movie. I thought this one was on the bubble, I was wrong. Keeper Daddy's Home and Daddy's Home 2 - You can't shame me, I simply think these movies are hilarious! First one is better than the 2nd one, but both provide many laughs. Keepers, both of them Dances With Wolves - KEEPER Dangerous Minds - Still love this movie to this day! Keeper. Dark City - Just not a very good movie. Goner
  12. The one made in 2022...
  13. There is a 0% chance we sign Peralta to an extension. Seriously, ZERO %.
  14. LOVE the idea, but it will never happen... There will always be teams willing to deal with the evil empire.
  15. That's for sure...
  16. Martinez can be taken off the A+ list, he's a Yankee. Corniel also gone, can't remember where, Mets?
  17. DVD Purge update: The Crow (Original, not sure if this has been remade, or sequels, or whatever) - I'm keeping this based on the fact I used to really like this one. I haven't seen it in probably 20 years, and I admit, it was pretty decent. I'll keep it around for one more future viewing to see what I think about it at that time. Keeper - for now. Cujo - Too much stupidity in this one to keep. Found it irritating and would never waste another minute of my life watching it again. Goner The following have been watched OUT of alphabetical order for various reasons. Detroit Rock City - HUGE KISS fan, fun movie! Keeper The Gentlemen - Have never seen this one before, bought the dvd a couple years ago finally got around to viewing. Decent movie, at times out and out hilarious. Took me a while to keep up with what was going on, but once I figured it out, I enjoyed it. Keeper for now. I really have to see a movie more than once to make a final decision. Nightmare Alley - Same as above, never seen it before, but did like it. Keeper, but need another viewing... M*A*S*H - Really hard for me to see different actors in the movie that are playing the TV series characters. I've pretty much grown up with the TV series, and I understand that the movie came before the TV series, but it was hard for me to get past the differences in the characteristics of the movie people compared to the TV people. Also, the football game was stupid and boring. Goner... ---Only a handfull of "C" movies left before I get to dive into the "D" movies.
  18. Adding 2 new teams to an already sinking ship doesn't make a lot of sense right now. It will just be two more have-not teams to add to the already large pool of have-nots... The Dodgers have become a King in a cartoon league. It's pretty disgusting.
  19. Bye bye 2027 MLB season...
  20. Can't wait to see the specifics. How much will be deferred? This is off the charts gross.
  21. Come to the darkside...Plenty of room!
  22. ESPN’s Jesse Rogers reports the Blue Jays have made a long-term contract offer to Kyle Tucker. No word on the exact financial terms. Tucker’s market is beginning to crystallize, as he’s reportedly weighing a short-term offer from the Mets that would pay roughly $50 million annually, according to FanSided’s Robert Murray, against the long-term security of a deal with the Blue Jays. The defending World Series champion Dodgers remain the true wild card in the Tucker sweepstakes. He’s the kind of hitter whose production travels — park, lineup, and league factors tend to bend around him rather than the other way around. The real decision here isn’t about fit so much as timing: whether it makes sense to circle back to free agency again in the near future or lock in the certainty of a long-term deal now, knowing his bat will almost certainly age well enough to justify either path. 23. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that the Giants are “aggressively pursuing a second baseman and have been engaged with Chicago on Nico Hoerner and St. Louis on Brendan Donovan.” The Yankees have also reached out to the Cubs about Hoerner, but all indications, for now, are that the Cubs would rather hold onto Hoerner and trade Matt Shaw. Both Hoerner and Donovan are high-contact rate hitters who would provide nice balance to a Giants infield that features power bats in Willy Adames, Matt Chapman, and Rafael Devers. Nothing appears imminent, but the Giants don’t appear comfortable beginning the 2026 season with Casey Schmitt or Christian Koss as their starting second baseman. Source: Jeff Passan
