  1. It sure looks like our off season additions/trades/etc are over for now! Bring on 2026!
  2. Meh. Well, that's that I guess. Hopefully he's just a placeholder until Wilken gets called up at some point...
  3. You truly think we would trade that much for Buxton with his injury history (he isn't getting any younger either) and the $15 million + he is owed over the next 3 seasons? That's too much to give up and add that to the cash he will still be owed, I think this prediction is pretty much null and void right out of the gate.
  4. That line-up would warrant a road trip to Nashville to catch a series!
  5. Ok, who saw this coming? Always some surprises...
  6. I wasn't suggesting they were going to give up on him, or that they should. I simply do not think it is a good decision to keep him and Hamilton in the lineup at the same time. I'm all for giving Joey another shot to redeem himself. I'm not all for any lineup that includes both he and Hamilton.
  7. You can't count a thumbs down from Ghostdrew. That is his schtick. Rarely posts words, just shows up to hand out the negative thumb awards.
  8. I have to think he had NO other offers if he is willing to play for the Rockies... Pitcher's nightmare in hell...
  9. DVD Purge The Day After Tomorrow - I like this one. Keeper Dazed and Confused - One of my top 3 movies of all freakin' time! I have seen this movie countless times and never get tired of it. Just an absolute classic! KEEPER Death Race - Decent flick, not that I need to see it again. Loosely based on the cult classic Death Race 2000. Goner Death Race 2 - Actually serves as the prequal to Death Race. Again, I thought it was fine, but not keeper worthy. I do not own, nor have I seen Death Race 3. Goner Death Race 2000 - Absolute classic! If you haven't seen this one, give it a go, but consider when it was made (1975) before passing judgement. Yes, special effects are lacking and it can come off as cheesy at times, but that is part of the charm! Definite Keeper!! Deceived - This was ok, but just feels like it's missing something... Goner Deception - Also an ok movie which was enjoyable to watch, but I don't need it in the collection. Goner The Departed - This is a good one. Starts off a little slow, but a really good movie with a bonkers ending! Keeper
  10. Ugh. If we acquired Hamilton to be a regular which allows Ortiz to stay in the lineup at 3B, then I really don't want to see the results. This kind of makes me ill... I really hope you are wrong.
  11. Ok, let's say that what you are saying is true. We have to get power someplace. We are in desperate need for someone, who in given situations has the chance at knocking one out of the park. Our line-up is punchless today, and it was punchless last year. If we aren't going to get any power at 1B or 3B with some "dinosaur" player, where is it going to come from? Chourio has yet to show any significant consistent power,, Yelich, those days are likely behind him. Frelick? Vaughn has a shot, and did provide some clutch power last season in limited at bats. Turang? Ortiz? That leaves Contreras... Call me crazy, but we are still sitting here with a line-up without a power source. I may be old school in my line of thinking that we need at least one guy who is a threat, but once the season hits, and we are getting guys on base with no one to knock them all in, I think my reasoning will be in line with how most feel about the lack of power in this line-up.
  12. Any thoughts of Bauers playing full time at multiple positions is just going to be a let down. I'm not buying into anything regarding he can be anything more than a bench guy who every once in a while looks better than a bench guy.
  13. What makes the most sense is replacing Ortiz and his crap bat in the line-up entirely, not moving him over to a power hitting position. If Jett can handle SS right out of the gate, then we need a real 3B and his bat, not what Ortiz provides there. Yes, I know Joey plays great defense, but if he isn't going to play SS, where we can theoretically hide his crap bat, then I don't want him in the line-up. I do not believe he will find his 2024 bat, I also don't believe he will be as bad as 2025. He can't be that bad, right? RIGHT?
  14. I don't think Patrick is on the block, I think we view him as a guy to keep around in the rotation for a few years. I also don't think that signing Turang to an extension is a priority with the guys we have coming. He is going to get far too expensive to do so, and I think we have him until 2030 already...
  15. You think the Brewers and Cubs can become trade partners? I find the odds of that happening at about 0% to be honest. We have options at 3B in the pipeline who are not quite ready yet, but are getting closer. Overpaying the Cubs for anything we will have soon would be crazy, absolutely nutjob crazy. Nope, the Cubs as a trading partner isn't something that will happen...
  16. Pratt and Quero for Paredes is a massive overpay for a guy who is questionable defensively, and is only under contract for one year. (Almost 10 million dollars for that one season also makes this highly unlikely) Giving up blue chippers for one year and a 10 million dollar salary is not something the Brewers would consider.
  17. Please explain. He hasn't been an option at 3B for quite some time, or anyplace in the IF for that matter. Where does his opportunity open up? Lockridge? Yes, let's make an effort to get his bat into the line-up too...
  18. Paredes is NOT a good 3B and would not fit our mold very well. I am in total shock at this trade. Need to sit back and evaluate before I go one way or the other... The way it looks at this moment, we are going to have Ortiz and his lack of offense pegged for an offensive position, on a team that already lacks offensive pop. It was bad enough having his bat at SS, but now at 3B? There just has to be something else on the horizon, right?
  19. DVD Purge: The Curious Case of Benamin Button - I remember seeing this back in the day and not really liking it that much... After watching again, I have changed my mind, thought it was kind of fascinating at times, even though there are a few holes in the plot, I can overlook them - Keeper ^^^The last C movie! ^^^ Days of Thunder - Always really liked this one, and I'm not a fan of Nascar - Keeper Deadfall - Thought this was pretty good. - Keeper Dead Poets Society - I've always thought that Robin Williams' work when he wasn't a zany weirdo, was far better than his over the top comedic stuff. This is just a good movie. - Keeper The Dead Zone - Though I'm usually not a fan of Stephen King movies, probably because I have always read the books before the movies come out, this one I've always liked! - Keeper The Dilemma - I enjoyed this one, and really had no memory of watching it previously. Kept my interest and worth seeing again imo - Keeper Girl on the Train - Meh. Sometimes pretty confusing, I'm sure the book does a better job. Nothing I need to see again. Goner
  20. Honestly, I think it's all up to Vaughn. If he has a good solid year, we are probably ok. If he tanks (and that is a complete possibility) and we have to rely on Bauers more than a platoon situation, we are in deep trouble. Personally, I hate the idea of Bauers as a starter in any regard, I simply don't think he is an answer. Andrew Vaughn or bust!
  21. I do, and as of right now, we do not have any 1B that can step in on opening day and make an impact. Adams, Burke, Fischer, etc are not ready, but hopefully one of them can be ready to go in 2027, er, ummmm, 2028 if we don't play in 2027...
  22. The Cubs will surely have something to say about that. If they want to spend, they will, and they can...
