  1. I have yet to see that, and I'm a fan of the first three, yes, I said it, even the third movie...
  2. Could Wisconsin be the new AA team rather than Wilson? The T-Rats being right up the road from Milwaukee, might lend an even better hand at rehabbing Brewers players during the season.
  3. It is entirely possible that the one position we never seem to have an answer at, is going to meet with a logjam of talent in the very near future. Fischer, Adams and Burke all look like legit prospects at 1B. It's a good problem to have, however, it appears that all 3 may not have a back-up position, so they all can't stay... I suppose you could add Wilken to that group as well, but it seems he might stay at 3B? I'm really hoping Fischer can stick at 3B to alleviate that problem though. Wilken should break into the majors before Fischer, but not by much.
  4. I think it's too bad he let SD off the hook of that stupid contract that would have ran until he was 42 years old... Yeah, it's great he knows when he's done, but the fact that SD thought it made sense to give him a contract that ran until he was 42, and now are going to get out of it is irritating. Make them pay for their stupidity
  5. Well, not defending anyone here, but how do you know we had multiple offers? I know it was reported that many teams were interested, but that doesn't mean that actual offers were made by other teams. I would assume that at least one other team probably actually made an offer which included names, but again, we don't know that for sure.
  6. The Brewers are “involved on” free agent Reese McGuire, according to MassLive.com’s Chris Cotillo. That makes sense. The Brewers only need a cheap backup with William Contreras in house and Jeferson Quero hopefully ready to step in if disaster strikes, and McGuire is a plus defender, if nothing else. He hit .226/.245/.444 in 140 plate appearances for the Cubs last season. Milwaukee Brewers 19m ago Source: Chris Cotillo
  7. That thread did get seriously off topic, but usually when that happens, it is corrected, and the thread lives on...
  8. Was going to add this to the "Off season around the league" thread, but it has been mysteriously locked down.
  9. Found this interesting, if true... I'm assuming that with the Peralta trade, we are probably actually in the negative now.
  10. I do think that Jett's size does play a factor in a lot of things defensively. So, pretend he's a great SS, how many balls get passed him that a great SS that is 6" or taller get to? How many times does he make a great outstretched play, but a normal sized SS makes with ease? If we are giving up 6" or more with every play from a tiny SS (who is playing next to a very short 3B in Durbin I might add) it has to have an effect on the game, defensively. Seriously, having Durbin and Williams on the left side of the infield gives up a lot defensively when both players are severely hampered by their size. That simply can't be argued. I'm going to bet that we would have the shortest combination on the left side of any team in MLB, maybe even in the history of MLB. lol There are so many instances in a baseball game where having a good reach is a definite benefit, especially when it comes to IF play. It's called a game of inches for a reason. Pretend he's a great CF, as some here have eluded to, how many balls is he unable to get to because he is 5 to 9 inches shorter than most CF... His size does play a part in his/our success. I like the guy, I hope he is a complete and total stud, and that in a couple of years, we are still talking about how we fleeced Stearns and the Mets with the trade, but dismissing his size completely isn't looking at the entire picture. I trust that Arnold explored all his options, and in his opinion, this one benefitted us the most. So here's to hoping that Jett and Sproat fit right in, and we have 2 more valuable pieces to our puzzle for years to come.
  11. Of course not, the Brewers would never trade prospect capital like that for a one year starting pitcher. That's not how they roll...
  12. Cortes and Quintana still available...
  13. If there is a lock-out, doesn't that mean that the minor league teams are also locked out?
  14. YES, yes it is...
  15. Ugh...I guess so, but I won't be shocked to see Sproat in 2026.
  16. Not a Sproat fan. I don't see how he is any better than Myers, except for service time.
  17. REALLY hard to believe we had to throw in Myers as well...
  18. I DO NOT want Jones or Dominguez in a return for Freddy. I don't like their profiles, and they seem to be pretty over-rated due to being in the Yankees system. Please, do not make either of these guys the main piece in a Peralta trade... Please don't make them ANY piece in a Peralta trade, I just don't want either player. The Yankees are continuing to show interest in Freddy Peralta, sources tell The Athletic’s Chris Kirchner. Would the Brewers want Jasson Domínguez, who could be available with Cody Bellinger back in New York? The Yankees also have major league starting pitching to part with in the form of Luis Gil, Will Warren or even the newly acquired Ryan Weathers. If the Brewers do decide to pull the trigger and deal their ace, this does seem like the most obvious trade fit. Source: The Athletic
  19. *click* That's the sound of the phone being hung up on the Mets then...
  20. It would be a major disappointment if we don't get a bat that contributes immediately in 2026. Not some light hitting prospect who can play all over the infield, but really not contribute to our biggest needs. We have a wealth of infielders coming soon, no need to add to that log-jam. That Mets package is about as unexciting as it gets. Like someone said above, if that's our best offer, keep Freddy and take the pick. Don't want to give him away, and having him at the top of our rotation is still a good thing!
  21. Well, we've had teams in the past try to buy championships with varying degrees of success, however, we have never seen what the Dodgers have done, and continue to do as far as actually buying championships. This is a new level of nonsense never seen before. Deferred money has raised the level of craziness allowed by MLB. I don't see any way out of this mess now that the ball is rolling. I think there used to be a chance that a given team had a chance to catch lightning in a bottle and have things work out magically for a chance at a world series title. Now, I think those odds are far worse than ever before. I no longer believe a have-not team like the Brewers have a chance in hell at winning the world series. The odds were always stacked against us, now those odds are insurmountable.
  22. I'd do it for Tong and Baty to be honest.
  23. I think he is slated for their everyday 1B since they lost Alonso and signed Bichette. Not so sure they are willing to move him.
