  1. Are we really going to be excited about saving 4 million dollars? I'm all for trading him for the right package, but he's cheap as hell right now, so I wouldn't be in a big rush to to save the cash. Plus, saving that 4 million doesn't guarantee it will be put back into the roster either. I do understand the injury risk though. His injury could very well haunt him again this season, Losing our closer creates a domino effect in the bullpen. Sure, Uribe seems ready to close full time, but then who steps up to his role, and so on down the line. Again, I'm cool with trading him if we get a return that truly helps us either this year or very soon, but I'm not trading him just for salary relief when it's a measly 4 million dollars.
  2. That is not the Brewers MO. We don't go for it............EVER! We are a slow burn type of organization. We just keep rolling along, taking bites of the apple without ever just munching it down to the core.
  3. Made is going to be with the Brewers long before 2028 unless something really bad happens. He's on a Chourio type projectory. If we don't see him at the end of 2026 in some capacity, he'll be here by 2027. Mark my words.
  4. I'm not sold on Pratt's bat playing at 3B or 1B. He's a middle infielder, and probably has a bat that plays there. Made is probably the guy you move to 3B. Pena, since he struggled at high A is the guy I'm worried about. Not a lot of worry, I think he turns it around this year. We don't have room for Turang, Pratt, Made and Pena, something is going to have to give. Maybe one of them turns into an outfielder? I also think it's too late to extend Turang. He's going to get paid, and I doubt the Brewers will be the ones paying him.
  5. Full powder blue unis are gross. WAY too dated for my liking. I'm glad they are not going that route, but I don't think the jersey will look that bad with the gray bottoms. If they must go with the powder blue jersey, then the white pants would probably look the best.
  6. The Pirates are at least making an effort so far this off season... They know they have some pretty damn good young pitchers, so maybe they are going to give some actual effort in winning for once. I HIGHLY doubt Schwarber even considers an offer to play in Pittsburgh though.
  7. The Pirates have made Kyle Schwarber a four-year offer, sources told The Athletic. The report says it’s probably worth more than $100 million. Of course, it’s going to be tough for the Pirates to land a free agent like Schwarber, not only because they’re the Pirates but also because their ballpark isn’t very hitter friendly and especially not home run friendly (although at least it’s better for lefties than righties in that regard). As they’ve already done once this winter, their best hope is probably to trade pitching for hitting and then perhaps they could spend to fortify their rotation afterwards. 8. Btw, I really like DMV! It's quite funny, but not highly original.
  9. Black Mirror? ANy thoughts?
  10. Yeah, I agree. I stopped going years ago. Way too long of a drive to come out of there with nothing, so I stopped going.
  11. So then, you simply can't defend your posts? I asked you a couple simple questions above, and rather than answer them. you go into some song and dance about being played out and trolls? You just don't like being questioned. Also, I've been here a lot longer than you have, I am far from a troll. Your ridiculous takes on things and unbelievably awful trade proposals are the reason you get questioned, but your reaction is that since you can't answer those questions, I must be a troll? Pretty lame...
  12. Please explain why you think the Astros would give us a higher package than any other MLB team? Was there an article posted someplace stating that? I HIGHLY doubt AZ gives up Lawler for Freddy unless we are willing to add a lot more value on our end. Freddy has one season left on his contract, AZ would be a little crazy to do Lawler for Freddy unless we were adding more.
  13. DVD PURGE: City Slickers and City Slickers II - Goners Cold Pursuit - I really enjoy this movie. Can't go wrong with Liam laying waste on bad guys, and this one adds in some humor along the way too. Keeper The Conspirator - If you like history movies, this is one for you! Excellent flick! - Keeper Courage Under Fire - I like a good wartime movie - Keeper Cowboy Way - I do enjoy this movie due to Woody Haralson's character, but just not a strong enough flick to keep in the collection - Goner The Crazies - For some reason, I'm keeping this one around - Maybe the next time I go through the collection, it will be a goner. Creed I, II, and III - I love the Rocky franchise, always will. Keepers, all 3 of them. L.A. Confidential - Decent movie, but I have no reason to watch it again. Plus, Kevin Spacey gives me the willies... Gone. I've got about 12-15 more "C" movies before moving onto the "D's"
  14. @BrewerFan
  15. No doubt Baltimore values the player they gave up on and traded away? Yeah, I doubt that DL Hall is going to spearhead any trades with the O's...
  16. We do? We have a lot of outfielders?
  17. 1. Mike Moustakas to the Brewers for Jorge López and Brett Phillips on July 27, 2018 2. Yuniesky Betancourt, Zack Greinke and cash to the Brewers for Lorenzo Cain, Alcides Escobar, Jeremy Jeffress and Jake Odorizzi on December 19, 2010 3. Jamie Quirk, Jim Wohlford, and Bob McClure to the Brewers for Jim Colborn and Darrell Porter on December 6, 1976 4. John Gelnar and Steve Whitaker to the Seattle Pilots for Lou Piniella on April 1, 1969
  18. Again with the Mitchell stuff... 39 times? Even if it were true that I posted 39 times that I don't think Mitchell will be a full time contributor, can you prove me wrong? What has he done, or shown, that makes you believe I am wrong? Some guys just can't stay healthy, he seems to be one of those guys. Do I hope he hits 30 homers, and plays 140 games, ABSOLUTELY, but that isn't going to happen, and I think you know that too.
  19. I realize your schtick on this board is argument and conflict, so it probably does me no good to reply. I typically enjoy your posts and your point of view, but it sure does seem that you have a lot of bad days and come here to make yourself feel better. Joking of course... In regards to what you said above, again, I was feeding off another post that wanted Joey moved back to 3B so Collins could take over 2b, and Turang to SS. If that is what the other poster was referring to, that is why I said the smart move would be to do that. THAT IS NOT WHAT I WANT, I want Durbin to stay at 3B where he more than earned another shot at the position. I DON'T want Collins moved to the IF, and would rather keep it the way it was last season if we are intent on keeping Ortiz at SS.
  20. Possibly true, but we aren't going to keep all those guys, just no room for them all. My real point is that I think Areinamo could have been traded for a lot more than a 2 month back-up catcher. He has to have more value than that. He could have been involved in a much bigger trade than we dumped him for. It just felt like he had no value to us, so we traded him off for next to nothing for unknown reasons. We also have a possible log jam at 1B with Adams and Burke. We are rich with minor league players, which is a good problem to have , but some are going to have to go, I'm just hoping that when that time comes, we get impact players that will help us win it all not back-up players.
  21. I have no interest in moving Turang to SS just to move him. I was feeding off the other posts that were mentioning moving Turang to SS and Collins to 2B, and Ortiz to 3B. Yes, I get it, doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I think Durbin has earned a starting position one way or another and see no reason to move Collins to 2B when he plays a great LF. As far as Mitchell, mentioning him fit my post, no other reason.
  22. Not based on the above post, but I truly think we are going to regret trading Areinamo for a couple months of Danny Jansen, who barely saw the field.
  23. Why should Collins play 2B if Turang moves to SS? Have we seen Collins at 2B with the Brewers yet? Durbin has done everything to remain a starter on this team in some way. Seems to me the smart line-up would then be Ortiz at 3B, Turang at SS, and Durbin at 2B. Collins can remain in the OF along with Chourio and Frelick. Of course Mitchell coming back throws a monkey wrench into that plan, but no sweat, he'll be on the IL by the middle of April...
