  1. Having watched Erickson in Appleton for years, I have only one comment about his 3B coaching tendancies: Conservative Definitely wasn't a risk taker...
  2. The only way I trade him to the Dodgers is if we can bleed them dry. No bargains or question marks, BLEED THEM DRY if they want him. Screw LA.
  3. The DVD purge continues: Crazy Stupid Love - Decent little RomCom, my wife liked it, so keeping... Creepshow and Creepshow 2 - I remember liking these movies when they came out, hence the reason I have them, but nothing I need to see again. Goners Crocodile Dundee (all three of them) - Pass, not good, Goners. Christopher Robin - Nostalgic and I do have a soft spot for all things Pooh. Keeper Howard the Duck - Hard to even sit through, just out and out cheese. My wife lasted 15 minutes, got up and left the room. lol Though I admit to having a crush on Lea Thompson throughout the 80's, she wasn't enough to save this stinker. GONE!
  4. I'm not 100% convinced that WE don't view him as a starter... I think he gets a shot in 2026.
  5. Yeah, I don't think that $ is a reach for the quality reliever he has become. However, I'd rather see him get a real opportunity to start in 2026. He can always return to the bullpen if things don't work.
  6. Just saw a rumor that the Pirates are in on trading for Marte as well...
  7. Agreed. They have an abundance of starting pitching, by adding some offense, they become a .500 team, possibly better. People need to be careful in counting them out. This doesn't look like the old Pirates, they are trying to get something started.
  8. Yeah, he deserves a real shot. I can just see it though. He goes through June, gets about 4-5 at bats a week, doesn't produce, then everyone freaks out and calls him a bust, etc... He needs a legit shot, like starting 5 games a week for an extended period of time before we know what he can do.
  9. Mariners signed 1B/OF Rob Refsnyder to a one-year, $6.25 million contract. Refsnyder has spent the last four seasons with the Red Sox, all of which he served in a part-time role, playing primarily against lefties. That is where the 34-year-old shines, slashing .302/.399/.560 against lefties last year with seven home runs and a .259 ISO. However, for his career, Refsnyder hits just .229/.301/.332 against righties with a 25 percent strikeout rate. The Mariners will use him on the short side of a platoon with Dominic Canzone, who could open as the starting designated hitter. Related Source: Jeff Passan
  10. Christmas music should NOT start anytime before thanksgiving imo. The day after thanksgiving until New Year's Eve is fine, anymore than that is overkill.
  11. So then we should get conformation of the deal being done anytime now... :)
  12. Why the thumbs down @ghostdrew ? Care to tell me what you disagree with? C'mon man, share...
  13. I think you can remove Yelich from the OF rotation you mentioned. Their OF rotation as it stands now would be Chourio, Frelick, Mitchell, Baddoo, Bauers, Lockridge, and Perkins. Outside of Chourio and Frelick, that is a very weak rotation. We simply need one guy to add to that stable and our OF could be set. Would love to get Soderstrom, but I don't think we are willing to pony up the prospects it would take.
  14. The Rays have pulled the plug on Jadher Areinamo’s winter league season in Venezuela, telling him to instead get ready for spring training. Areinamo was playing about as well as anyone in the Venezuelan Winter League until Nov. 30, when he had to leave La Guaira to apply for an extended visa. That came through and he was set to rejoin the team today, but the Rays decided to deny permission for that to happen. The 22-year-old Areinamo was hitting .364/.420/.693 with 13 homers in 36 games for the Tiburones. He leads the circuit in OPS and was tops in homers when he departed, with only Balbino Fuenmayor having overtaken him since. Source: Daniel Alvarez
  15. Probably too many...
  16. I'm not disagreeing for the most part with your post, but 5 deep in the OF? In my opinion, they are 2 deep, with a bunch of filler for 3-8, and are in desperate need of another bat in their starting OF. Yelich - can't even count him really, since he is our daily DH. Perkins - can't be projected as a starter due to his bat, he's a good #4 or 5 guy, but any extended playing time just means something went wrong. Baddoo - yuk, I hope whatever the Brewers think they see in this guy pays off. Lockridge - Not a fan, he's fast, blah blah blah. No way we can count on him for an extended period of time. Bauers - below average defense, and probably more in the "sucks at defense in the OF" category. Mitchell - injury concern..............................not really a concern, just a matter of when the injury happens.(sorry BrewerFan) To compete in the playoffs in 2026, we are going to have to add a bat in the OF, it's really as simple as that. We can go into 2026 thinking we can repeat 2025, but even if we do, we see how far that gets us in the playoffs. This line-up NEEDS another dependable bat that can hit for some power. We can't think we are going to take another step forward in 2026 with Perkins/Baddoo/etc and Joey hitting 8 and 9 in the line-up. We can hope to see 2024 Joey, and we can hope that Mitchell stays healthy and doesn't strike out 38% of the time, but that is just a hope and a prayer. All opinions of course.
  17. Well, I think you are right, but it depends on how badly they think they need a frontline starter and a bonafied closer (but didn't they just sign Chapman to be their closer) to add to their squad. My guess is, if they agreed to something like this, it would also include a top 30 prospect from us to round it out...
  18. Why do people keep saying Collis was a UT guy? He only played OF for us, and I highly doubt the Brewers thought he was anything other than that.
  19. Duran played primarily in LF in 2025, so I doubt he can be penciled in as our CF. Wondering if Chourio will just take over there fulltime? Duran's numbers weren't that great this past season. In fact, his stat line was down in almost every category. Worse in hits, homers, doubles, runs, stolen bases, OBP, OPS, and slugging. Batting average took a major hit down to .256 from .285 the year before. Also, he struck out more with fewer at bats than 2024. 2025 he struck out 27%, 2024 he struck out 23%. Be nice to get a guy in the OF that has 30 HR potential, and I don't think Duran is that guy hitting only 16 in 2025. Of course, he'd be better than Perkins, Baddoo, and Lockridge, so it wouldn't be all bad. His contract is decent too so I can see this happening, I just don't want to throw anymore prospects into the mix from our side, as I think Duran for Freddy is good enough.
  20. Oh man, I really can't stand watching Chisholm play. Just can't stand players like him, and would find it difficult to root for him. I probably said the same thing about T-Plush when we got him, so I guess I could get over it. 😁
  21. I truly believe that people just don't realize that the days when we had a full system of OFers has passed us by. I remember when we had Frelick, Wiemer, Mitchell, and Chourio in the pipeline, and everyone thought we were set for a decade! So far, only Chourio and Frelick have panned out. So I think the old notion of having a stacked OF position at the minor league level comes from that...
  22. It appears that everyone on this site is pretty sure that Mitchell is going to get hurt this season at some point. It will either happen in spring training, regular season, or anytime between now and the day players report. So many people here saying the same thing, over and over, it almost leads one to believe that it is a real thing... I guess I'm not the only one here that mentions that as a possibility after all @BrewerFan. (I'm just razzing you, everything is ok...)
