  1. Rays 2B prospect Jadher Areinamo won Rookie of the Year in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League. Areinamo was shut down after just 36 games in the winter season, but that was more than enough time to impress. The 22-year-old hit .364/.420/.692 with 13 home runs, 43 RBI, and five steals. He was acquired from the Brewers at the deadline last year for Danny Jansen. This has the makings of a great return after Areinamo also impressed in 131 games split between High-A and Double-A last year.
  2. I'm going out on a limb and predicting Freddy is gone by Tuesday. Sadly, I have a gut feeling it's to the Dodgers, but at the very least we need to fleece them, so hopefully the return in tremendous.
  3. DVD Purge: Starting some "D" movies, but still have a couple "C" movies left. Crimson Tide - Intense movie. I thought this one was on the bubble, I was wrong. Keeper Daddy's Home and Daddy's Home 2 - You can't shame me, I simply think these movies are hilarious! First one is better than the 2nd one, but both provide many laughs. Keepers, both of them Dances With Wolves - KEEPER Dangerous Minds - Still love this movie to this day! Keeper. Dark City - Just not a very good movie. Goner
  4. The one made in 2022...
  5. There is a 0% chance we sign Peralta to an extension. Seriously, ZERO %.
  6. LOVE the idea, but it will never happen... There will always be teams willing to deal with the evil empire.
  7. That's for sure...
  8. Martinez can be taken off the A+ list, he's a Yankee. Corniel also gone, can't remember where, Mets?
  9. DVD Purge update: The Crow (Original, not sure if this has been remade, or sequels, or whatever) - I'm keeping this based on the fact I used to really like this one. I haven't seen it in probably 20 years, and I admit, it was pretty decent. I'll keep it around for one more future viewing to see what I think about it at that time. Keeper - for now. Cujo - Too much stupidity in this one to keep. Found it irritating and would never waste another minute of my life watching it again. Goner The following have been watched OUT of alphabetical order for various reasons. Detroit Rock City - HUGE KISS fan, fun movie! Keeper The Gentlemen - Have never seen this one before, bought the dvd a couple years ago finally got around to viewing. Decent movie, at times out and out hilarious. Took me a while to keep up with what was going on, but once I figured it out, I enjoyed it. Keeper for now. I really have to see a movie more than once to make a final decision. Nightmare Alley - Same as above, never seen it before, but did like it. Keeper, but need another viewing... M*A*S*H - Really hard for me to see different actors in the movie that are playing the TV series characters. I've pretty much grown up with the TV series, and I understand that the movie came before the TV series, but it was hard for me to get past the differences in the characteristics of the movie people compared to the TV people. Also, the football game was stupid and boring. Goner... ---Only a handfull of "C" movies left before I get to dive into the "D" movies.
  10. Adding 2 new teams to an already sinking ship doesn't make a lot of sense right now. It will just be two more have-not teams to add to the already large pool of have-nots... The Dodgers have become a King in a cartoon league. It's pretty disgusting.
  11. Bye bye 2027 MLB season...
  12. Can't wait to see the specifics. How much will be deferred? This is off the charts gross.
  13. Come to the darkside...Plenty of room!
  14. ESPN’s Jesse Rogers reports the Blue Jays have made a long-term contract offer to Kyle Tucker. No word on the exact financial terms. Tucker’s market is beginning to crystallize, as he’s reportedly weighing a short-term offer from the Mets that would pay roughly $50 million annually, according to FanSided’s Robert Murray, against the long-term security of a deal with the Blue Jays. The defending World Series champion Dodgers remain the true wild card in the Tucker sweepstakes. He’s the kind of hitter whose production travels — park, lineup, and league factors tend to bend around him rather than the other way around. The real decision here isn’t about fit so much as timing: whether it makes sense to circle back to free agency again in the near future or lock in the certainty of a long-term deal now, knowing his bat will almost certainly age well enough to justify either path. 15. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that the Giants are “aggressively pursuing a second baseman and have been engaged with Chicago on Nico Hoerner and St. Louis on Brendan Donovan.” The Yankees have also reached out to the Cubs about Hoerner, but all indications, for now, are that the Cubs would rather hold onto Hoerner and trade Matt Shaw. Both Hoerner and Donovan are high-contact rate hitters who would provide nice balance to a Giants infield that features power bats in Willy Adames, Matt Chapman, and Rafael Devers. Nothing appears imminent, but the Giants don’t appear comfortable beginning the 2026 season with Casey Schmitt or Christian Koss as their starting second baseman. Source: Jeff Passan

  17. The Athletic’s Keith Law suggests that INF Matt Shaw is “the most obvious candidate” to be traded after the Cubs signed Alex Bregman. There was some thought that the Cubs would try to trade Nico Hoerner and move Shaw to second base, but Law suggests that Shaw may be wearing out his welcome in Chicago. After a poor rookie season, Law reported that Shaw has shown “resistance to help from the Cubs’ staff.” His approach at the plate in 2025 was “undisciplined and often defensive,” according to Law, and he wasn’t eager to make adjustments with the hitting coaches. If that’s the case, it’s easy to see why the Cubs would want to trade Shaw, but may limit his market if teams are worried about him taking the same approach in a new place. Source: The Athletic
  18. The Athletic’s Chandler Rome reports that “trade interest in [Christian] Walker remains almost nonexistent.” With Carlos Correa now back in town and Yordan Alvarez likely spending all of next season at DH, the Astros have a surplus of infielders and likely need to trade one of Walker or Isaac Paredes. The Astros would like to keep Paredes and play him at first base, but they would need to find a way to trade Walker. The 34-year-old did hit 27 home runs last season, but he has two years, $40 million left on his contract and has been declining offensively over the last couple of years. The Astros would likely get back far more in a trade for Paredes, so the question will be whether Houston prefers to make essentially a salary dump trade or tries to bring back players of value. 20. We shall see. I won't be too surprised if they still have another move in them...
  21. If you guys ever find yourselves in Appleton, Sal's Pizza on College Avenue is sooooooooo good! Sold by the slice, or you can order full pies. Authentic Italian pizza and my favorite place in the Fox Valley for pizza. Lunchtime special gets you a slice, a soda, and a "to die for" garlic roll for $6.50. They have at least 10 pizzas out at a time so a really good selection. If you ever come up for Mile of Music, it's right there on the Ave...
  22. I know we do our best here to down play the Cubs and their moves, but the Cubs are trying to get better. I'd have been in on Tucker over Bregman if I'm the Cubs, but so be it. I'm hoping that sitting in neutral works for us...
  23. Adding Pena stops this deal cold in it's tracks, Not a chance the front office moves Pena for Duran.
  24. True, but the casual fan won't understand why we would trade Freddy, and they might be less likely to attend games if they don't recognize any of the players. Freddy is a name, at least to Brewers fans, so trading him could hinder the casual/average fan...
  25. The Housemaid was entertaining. Not a must see, but there are worse ways to spend 2 hours of your time. Sydney Sweeney is lucky she has big boobs, because she isn't that great of an actress, truth be told...
