  1. Where will he start out 2024? Carolina?
  2. Actually, I just started season 2, and so far, I like it. It is what it is, but I like it so far. Hank sure does find new and exciting ways to sabotage his relationship with Karen, that's for sure.
  3. I know Cabrera has been a target of many people here, the latest news: According to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pirates are in active trade talks with the Marlins to acquire right-hander Edward Cabrera. Mackey confirms that the Pirates remain in active discussions to acquire a starter both via trade and free agency, but talks with the Marlins appear to have gained steam, and Cabrera is the pitcher they are most willing to part with. While the 25-year-old has plus raw stuff and has pitched to a 4.01 ERA with 221 strikeouts in 197 2/3 innings (41 starts), he also has some major problems with control. In his brief career, he averages 5.4 batters walked per nine innings, which has some people believing he fits best as a reliever. If the Pirates were to acquire him, they would certainly slot him into the rotation, but their previous inability to develop starters like Tyler Glasnow, Joe Musgrove, and Gerrit Cole makes it questionable that they would be able to fix Cabrera’s command issues. Additionally, if the trade were to happen, it would seemingly give A.J. Puk the inside track to make the Marlins rotation. 3h ago Source: Pittsbugh Post-Gazette
  4. How many of them are Boras clients?
  5. Woodruff signing with who?
  6. Looks like I've stumbled into another urinating contest... If Gasser ends up being a #2 or #3 for the remainder of his contract, then his service time is definitely something to consider. If he ends up being a back of the rotation starter for that same time period, then his service time probably means nothing, like stated above. If that is the case, I doubt he is still around or that we even care at that point. Simple fact is, we have no idea where he shakes out. If it only takes 2 weeks to save him a full year of service time, then it seems the obvious choice to keep him in AAA for the first two weeks. (Is that accurate? Does he really only need to start the season in AAA for 2 weeks for us to get a full year longer? Seems unlikely)
  7. Giants sign Soler, 3 years 42 million. Comes out to 14 million per season. They will probably regret this decision in year 3 of this contract. Maybe even in year 2. If that was the going rate, I'm glad we were not in on that. I'd have been fine with one year at 14 million, but no more.
  8. I'm a little surprised there isn't more outrage online about the douchary that took place there. Hyped up, lots of emotion, whatever, that behavior should not be allowed without repercussion. I know there isn't a coach on the planet that would do this in the super bowl, but he should have been immediately benched and removed from the sideline. A total lack of respect, and for all the world to see. Shame.
  9. Prayers to you and your family...
  10. I bet that situation occurred during contract talks. I would think the Astros know of his comments in the past addressing the situation, you can probably be pretty sure this was discussed before the Astros contract was signed.
  11. Kept: Beer League - Pretty funny stuff in this movie, nothing really new, but entertaining. Best of Times - Just an entertaining movie from 1986. I'm not a huge Robin Williams fan, but this is a keeper! Dumped: Before the Devil Knows You're Dead - I remember going to this in the theater and feeling uneasy the entire way through the movie because of the plot. Picked it up a couple years later, but never rewatched until now. Still made me uneasy, and not in a good way. I'll never want to see it again, so it's a goner. Was nice seeing Marisa Tormei in all her birthday suit glory though. lol
  12. Sex sells, always has, and even though this generation doesn't want to admit it, it always will...
  13. I can't believe we are still on the Hader subject. Dude has been gone a year and a half. He's gone...
  14. Please send two writers who are actually Brewers fans :)
  15. If Turang starts to hit, that could be proven wrong, but I am not really high on his hitting ability. In fact, I'd like to see him traded at some point to allow for Black to play 2B, Wilken at 3B, Ortiz at SS. Looking more at 2025 than this year, because I just don't see Adames being traded.
  16. Benchwarmers - Lots of stupid stuff in this one, but I still found myself laughing out loud frequently. Better Off Dead - Your typical 80's stuff here. Probably pretty cringeworthy for the PC crowd, but if you are able to separate the times we live in currently compared to different decades long ago, then it has some pretty classic 80's lines. "I want my 2 dollars!!!"
  17. I hate to be this guy, but if he wants to settle for a one year deal, someone out there will offer him more than we would. It's just the way it is. If we were to go 35 million, one of the rich teams would go 40. It's a no win situation when it comes to who will fork out the most money for a TOR player like Snell.
  18. Why are you afraid to say if you are for or against it? We would have nothing to lose at this price, build in a bunch of incentives, and if he is an idiot, or detrimental to the team in any way, cut him. Simple as that. I'm 100% totally on board with signing him.
  19. I'm warming up to the signing, and I know you stats guys will crucify me for this, but he hit .217 last year. That is gross. Here's hoping he provides some thump in the line-up, and hits a ridiculous .230. 😁
  20. The same friend also recommended Entourage, which I loved, so we'll see...
  21. Absolutely, which is why most here seem to think he is going to DH a lot...
  22. Well, the year we added Moose and Grandal would rank up there with this year.
