  1. It would be fun to watch Brewer Nation's head explode if we signed Molina at catcher...lol I would be 100% against it, but would be great entertainment on the boards!
  2. I wonder if backing up the mound would have a negative effect on injuries? Since these guys have been pitching from the same distance for so long, I just wonder if adding another 6 inches or a foot would be an issue on the injury front.
  3. It would be nice if hitters could bunt away from the shift. You would think that with the amount of shifts being employed, some guys would work on the skill for free base hits and to raise the average... Chicks dig the long ball though!
  4. Nothing wrong with a vent thread... We all feel it.
  5. lock this nightmare of a thread down!
  6. So a guy who wasn't good enough to play for us during the regular season is batting clean-up in a playoff elimination game. That is asinine, and just adds to the many ridiculous decisions our manger has made this year. I hate this season, just really hate it! I hope I am really wrong and he goes off tonight, but this is stupid...
  7. Yup, all fun and games at first, now that things are settling, they'll end up not being as great of a value as most anticipated. I have stuck with cable all this time, and though it costs more, I have no complaints with service or channel offerings.
  8. Now that is a fight!
  9. Hasn't Stroman been nothing other than a disappointment though based on his projections? I don't find him as a very exciting add. Lots of injury history and under performing... I'm all good with Profar though!
  10. This start time is a major drag... Would have been a lot nicer if the late start time would have been for the Friday game... (assuming we are playing in that game)
  11. Bad offense, true, but that first inning was a killer. It completely killed all confidence that might have been there. It was a game changer. In the end, we would have had to score 5 runs to win. That first inning really let the wind out of the sails. I get how the offense can be blamed, but that was a lot to overcome.
  12. ESPN's Jeff Passan reports that Devin Williams will miss the Wild Card Series due to an arm issue. Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel adds that it's a sore right shoulder. This is a massive blow for the Brewers as they prepare to face the Dodgers, as Williams delivered a dominant 0.33 ERA and 53/9 K/BB ratio over 27 innings during the 2020 regular season. The 26-year-old may have the best changeup in MLB. SOURCE: Jeff Passan on Twitter Sep 30, 2020, 1:57 PM ET
  13. I'm not against that notion, but I don't trust CC to make that move in a timely manner. This year especially, it seems the game often moved quicker than CC's reactions. I can see Suter cruising along for 3 innings, no runs given up, but no one in the bullpen, then BAMO! He blows up with back to back homers, CC then has to decide what to do, then he gives up a double and a single, 3 runs scored in the first 4 batters of the inning, then CC decided to get someone up in the bullpen, meanwhile Suter continues to struggle, and by the time the change is made, it's 4-0 and GAME OVER! That is my fear with leaving him in longer than 3 innings. If I trusted CC with a quick hook, your plan sounds better.
  14. So everyone here seems to be ok with Suter going through the line-up more than once? Ugh! If we can get 3 innings out of him giving up no runs, or one, that should be the limit. Count your blessings and throw in the next sacrificial lamb of the day. I'm hoping to get 3 from Suter, 3 from Freddy, 2 from Williams, and one from Hader. Can Freddy even do 3 innings? Not confident at all on that part of my equation to be honest. One inning from Hader doesn't stop him from pitching Thursday, and 2 from Williams shouldn't stop him from pitching in game 3. Hell, at this point, if we really needed him in game 2, he should be available for a batter or 3... As good as Suter has been in the way we use him, it isn't the time to start expecting him to be Corbin Burnes. If we can get 3 good innings from him, that is a win, move on to the next guy. I don't want to see Lauer again this year unless we are down by 10 or up by 10... I'm also scared to death that Hader will come in to a game for a save situation and promptly blow up on national tv. We need the league to think he is 2018 Josh Hader so when the offers come in this off season, we can cash in. That right there is scarey. What if Woody goes 4 innings and gives up 4 runs on 95 pitches? Basically, if we find a way to win game one, and Woody isn't on his game, it feels like we are screwed if Peralta and Suter have been used up. I hate the idea of a bullpen game in the first game due to the fact it leaves us so much weaker the rest of the series. Burnes getting hurt really was about the worst thing that could have happened.
  15. Brewers manager Craig Counsell said the team is still assessing Daniel Vogelbach's right leg injury. Vogelbach tweaked something while running out a grounder in the ninth inning of Sunday's regular-season finale against the Cardinals. The hope is that he will be able to DH in Wednesday night's Wild Card Series opener versus the Dodgers and right-hander Walker Buehler, but it's up in the air at the moment. The left-handed-hitting Vogelbach proved to be a tremendous early-September waiver claim for the Brewers, slashing .328/.418/.569 with four home runs and 12 RBI in 19 games down the stretch. SOURCE: Tom Haudricourt on Twitter Sep 28, 2020, 8:23 PM ET Seems so funny to me that we are counting on Vogelbach to help our chances of winning. A guy we picked up for free on some trash heap. Now he seems to be a key factor in our success? lol Love this game!
  16. This is what I'd do. Start Lauer and have the bullpen on high alert, particularly Suter. Cody Bellinger quote on facing Lauer: "He has a (bleeping) weird heater. It's hard to hit. You see it. Then you swing and it's by you." Strange that comment doesn't hold water for anyone else who faces him.
  17. A year ago I probably would have scoffed at this proposal, but honestly - I'd sign up for this type of package now as I just don't think we are going to get that huge prospect haul like we all hoped we would get. In fact, a package of Gonsolin, Rios and Busch might get laughed at by the Dodgers front office, as they may not even want to give up that much for a reliever (even one that's been as good as Hader). I think we have to hope that Josh has a great series this week against the Dodgers, just to remind them of how good he can be. Then, I think we have to hope the Dodgers blow another opportunity to win it all over the next month - with their pen showing it's warts. If those things happen, maybe we could get them to do a deal like this? I just hope we are in position to have to use Hader against the Dodgers this week...
  18. I hope all 3 games aren't at 9:00 pm central... (Assuming we get to 3 games....Brewers in 2!)
  19. That sucks so hard! Gonna be a long day Thursday I guess. There is no way I can go to bed with out knowing. If we are getting blown out, that would be the only way I miss the ending.
  20. This season, more than any other season, proves why you manage to win EVERY single game.
  21. One of the biggest managing blunders in team history.
