  1. To be honest, I am shocked they decilned his option. How can they possibly be able to sign a better guy at that money? Man, I have a feeling that 2020 is going to look like an all star line-up compared to what might be happening in 2021. Yikes.
  2. Adding Moreland and Cabrera are not moves that will suddenly make our offense championship caliber. Adds like those are really no different than what we tried to do last year, and failed miserably. We need to aquire, somehow, some way, a legit 1B and / or 3B. I think Gyrko can get us by at one of those 2 positions, but we MUST add a real live bat at the position that Gyrko doesn't hold down. Why waste more money on gritty vets who just aren't needle movers. I don't know how we can possibly offer up a trade package for a legit 1B / 3B either unless Hader is involved.
  3. Add Osuna to the waived list... Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports that the Astros have placed Roberto Osuna on outright waivers. Kaplan notes that this is essentially an early non-tender, assuming Osuna clears waivers and elects to become a free agent, which is likely how it will play out. He was projected to command a 2021 salary of around $10 million through the arbitration process this winter. Osuna made only four appearances in 2020 before going down with a right elbow injury that at one point was believed to be leading toward Tommy John surgery. The 25-year-old is attempting the rest and rehab route instead and hopes to pitch at full health next season. SOURCE: Jake Kaplan on Twitter Oct 29, 2020, 11:55 AM ET
  4. Diamondbacks declined RHP Junior Guerra's $3.5 million club option for 2021. Guerra technically remains under Arizona's control as an arbitration-eligible player, and the team will have until December 2 to decide whether to non-tender him. The 35-year-old right-hander posted an uneven 3.04 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 21/15 K/BB ratio over 23 2/3 innings of relief during the condensed 2020 campaign. 5. Nationals declined 1B/DH Eric Thames' $4 million mutual option for 2021. He's due a $1 million buyout instead. Thames finished the condensed 2020 regular season with a poor .203/.300/.317 batting line, tallying only three home runs and 12 RBI in 140 plate appearances. 6. Pulling Snell was very much a CC type thing... They can take it too far, and this is the perfect example of that. It's pretty ridiculous really.
  7. Yup, he would likely be out of our league as far as $ goes.
  8. Add him and get rid of Garcia? I'm in!
  9. Gosh, I hope not...
  10. ahhhh, ok then... Just read that completely wrong, thanks. He did say the "world's hot spot" though...
  11. So are you saying that Wisconsin's 5th congressional district is #5 in the entire world? And the entire USA is 20th? I'm confused.
  12. Back in March when I was doing fantasy baseball research, I read somewhere that he was untouchable. He was the one guy they didn't want to move in any deal... I think the odds of getting him are pretty much slim to none.
  13. Sopranos is one of my top 5 shows of all time... Just a great great show! Agree with all your points!
  14. Season 3 of Westworld has completely gone off the rails... So disappointing.
  15. So you guys want to keep roling with Haines then? *sigh*
  16. Sorry to hear that man, speedy recovery...

  18. LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune hears that "as of now, the DH will be AL-only next season." Neal notes that "the union and MLB would have to expand it to both leagues through bargaining," and the current collective bargaining agreement (CBA) runs through the end of the 2021 campaign. It certainly seems like a possibility that the two parties could figure something out with the DH rule independent of the CBA, as they did this year amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but there isn't much clarity as to how those negotiations might be conducted. This is an urgent issue with hot stove season fast approaching. SOURCE: LaVelle E. Neal III on Twitter Oct 22, 2020, 1:52 PM ET
  19. People always say 1B is easy to fill, yet here we are. It's been like this since Prince left.
  20. I think he is going to want to hit that 2K hit mark and will come back at a discounted price. Not play for free, but I doubt it takes 15 million to sign him for one year.
  21. Yeah, I think a lot of players will be signing 1 year deals, hoping that 2022 is fully back to normal...
  22. Awesome of you to do this!
  23. I truly think they bring Arcia back as the starting SS, allowing Urias every opportunity to take his place throughout the season. If Urias continues to struggle, Arcia remains as our starting SS. I just don't think they have a lot of confidence in Urias right now based on his playing time last season.
  24. I am walking amongst positive teenagers all day, everyday... It is a given that at anytime, we might have 10-30 positive cases in our building and they might not even know it. Then there are the idiots who have symptoms, but don't want to quarantine, so they try to hide it. Half of one of our sports teams just went into quarantine because of a positive test on the team. Then we have the idiot parents who send their kids to school even with symptoms because they don't want to be inconvenienced with taking their kids for tests or taking off from work. It is a sh*t show, as I have outlined before. We had 16 new quarantine kids today alone. 2 teachers. If we start losing teachers to positive tests and quarantine, we will shut down as we have no subs. None. Every day I walk into this building feels like I'm walking the corona gauntlet.
