Drew Rasmussen will start Game 5 of the World Series against the Brewers The Rays have their backs up against the wall, so they will now turn to their ace, Drew Rasmussen, to start Game 5. Rasmussen just threw 3 2/3 innings on Saturday night, so he will come into this one on just three days’ rest. With that in mind, it’s unlikely that Rasmussen pitches deep into this game, but the Rays will help that he can keep the Brewers off the board in the first few innings and give them the chance to build a lead they can hand over to the bullpen. 5 from Miz and we are in good shape, expecting more than he has given to this point is a stretch. 5 innings, one run is what I'm hoping for. Anything other than that is gravy, and I sincerely mean that. If he gives us 5.1! Yippeeeeee! 5.2, and high fives all around. 6 and I'm going to run the neighborhood naked! (ok, not really, I wouldn't do that to my neighbors, unless they care to join me...)

Did he though? Any other pitcher comes in and gives up a run in one inning, and we aren't saying he looked ok at all... Woodruff is a feel good story, all he's been through, and he gets to pitch in a world series game, in about as far from a leverage situation as you can get. He comes in, doesn't blow it with a 10 run lead, and he can now say he pitched in a world series game. That's it. Nothing more. It's a feel good story, but that's it. He should never be relied on for anything meaningful in this world series. End of story. In that regard, neither should Drohan, but that's for another post.

That game was a gut punch to the nards. Even our gatekeeper BCF was expressing negative energy several times. The game was a difficult watch, and from the get go it just didn't feel like the others. We live to fight another day, and I expect game 5 to be another barn burner...

I think a few of the regulars aren't posting much during the games. I know that I haven't been posting during the games, just before and after. I just want to take it all in, and not be distracted by anything!

Truly hoping Freddy is chased by the end of the 3rd, and we get to see their bullpen again early. There is nothing I'd like more than to have something like a 7-1 Brewers victory tonight, with the majority of our runs scored early. I think we all need a "no worries" game tonight!

The way I see it, the Rays have only one bat in the entire line-up tonight that concerns me. Caminero. Can they be pesky and string together some offense, I'm assuming so, they have come this far, but don't allow Caminero to beat you, that's it, don't allow it to happen.

Vaughn being ignored is just par for the course... I'm trusting Pancakes, and hoping Yelich has a 4 for 4 night, 3 RBI, and a homer!

Agreed on every position, but not catcher. We do not have an obvious build from within candidate currently in the system, that can step in and take William's place. Quero was supposed to be that guy, but I don't think he is the automatic replacement any longer. -

I don't feel the same feelings for Stearns that I feel for Counsell, I just no longer care that he is gone. I can see how some of you took my post, but I didn't mean it the way most of you took it. Both made a choice, and for different reasons. Counsell got what he deserved, and to me, I enjoy what has transpired. Imagine if he never wins the division during the course of his bloated contract? That would be awesome! Stearns, I simply do not care. I don't care if he succeeds, and I don't care if he has success. He's just a part of our history now. -
