  1. Ummm, well, if that were the case, why don't we have Strasburg and Rendon on the roster then? Why didn't we resign Grandal? Not saying those were smart decisions for a team like us (they were not good decisions) , but if cost is never a factor, then why do we not sign guys like that? All those players would give us more wins, right? I'm just not buying any of it. They lost money, doubtful. Cost is not a factor when making contract decisions, highly doubtful.
  2. I don't think this move makes Stearns a genius. To me, it makes the other GMs look stupid. The fact Holt was still out there, and allowing Stearns to get him so late is just crazy.

  4. Good, now we can trade Sogard to the Cubs...(light blue)
  5. I hope you are right, but I am pegging Burnes as our new Woodruff this season. Imagine if Burnes AND Peralta both take that next step during the same season?
  6. I highly doubt the Astros players are going to be targeted (hit, beaned, plunked, drilled, etc...) any more than other years. MLB isn't played that way any longer. It will be interesting at season's end to compare the HBP stat compared to other teams.
  7. Brewers being .500 in late July might not be so dire though. All the teams in our division except the Pirates, might be in that same boat. If that is the case. you can't sell off one of the pieces that we would NEED to compete from that point on...
  8. That is false, the seam on the old one was accurate depending on what angle of a real baseball you are looking at it. I have seen this said before, but that was a real seam of a real baseball.
  9. sending email now...thanks!
  10. I am a high school teacher. I have a special education student who is heavy into baseball/sports cards, old and new. Not really being a card collector myself, we have daily discussions about the players on his cards. I am wondering if anyone has a bunch of cards they want to get rid of (maybe you are considering throwing them in the garbage, if so, they can be put to good use with this guy). He has no money, so I'd be asking for them to be donated. (I'd be happy to pay for shipping or meet up in the fox valley someplace.) They can be from any sport, or team (he loves them all) , but he is mostly a Brewers/Packers fan. They do not have to have any value at all, in fact, commons would be great! He simply doesn't care who the players are or probably even understand values, etc. He just loves the cards. By no means do I expect people to do this, but if anyone out there has some cards they want to dump because they have no value, this would be a good way to pass them on, knowing that where they are going is deeply appreciated by the student that would be receiving them... Also, he's a really great kid, which is why I'm willing to throw this out there to the group. Thanks!
  11. It was misplaced optimism though. Last years rotation was a disaster waiting to happen, this years is much less risky. I don't see much difference i the risk factor to be honest... This year's rotation looks no better than last year's imo.
  12. That's why we got 5 years of Lauer for 2 of Davies? If that 1st part plays out that way we are in trouble. I don't believe the 2nd line at all. Houser = Woodruff? hmmmm Lauer > Davis, based on what? Lindblom=Peralta Then why did we need Lindblom since we already have Peralta?
  13. I did specifically ask for them, and he said nope, I'd have to buy more tickets to get the bobble. I even offered to pay for them, obviously, but he said no very unapologetically.
  14. I'll be shocked and amazed if he is ready for opening day...We have heard this story before... I can see this stretching out until May 1st to be honest.
  15. Forgot to update. I called to see if I could get Star Wars Cain Bobble vouchers by paying for them since I already had tickets to that game. The answer was NO. They just won't catch a guy a break in any way over the phone. No waived fees, no vouchers, nothing... Kind of frustrating.
  16. "The Brewers introduced its the logo..." Maybe they need to teach proof reading in journalism school...
  17. Has there been a credible rumor that has Joc and Striping coming to Milwaukee? Lots of discussion based on nothing if not...
  18. My NL Central 2020 Standings Prediction: Reds - 85 Cardinals - 84 Cubs - 83 Brewers - 80 Pirates - 67 *these are my predictions based on how the teams sit today, 2/11/20. If teams make changes to rosters due to trades, etc, this might look different on opening day.
  19. I do it every year, but I also attend the games. Yes, they will hold them for 30 days, but if you call them, they will hold longer as long as they have notice. Best thing about it imo, is that you don't have to get there early for bobble games. You can show up anytime you want, go to customer service to pick up the bobbles. It is relatively cheap, and well worth the conveniences, however, the price went up about $20 this year per ticket.
  20. Ya beat me to it... I don't consider Macha anything other than the guy who had to manage a team with nothing, I mean nothing on the pitching staff. I don't give him credit, or fault, he was in a no win situation from the get go.
  21. 50th anniversary without honoring their only no hitter... It's a crime.
  22. Better them, than us! I was an anti RRR fan, one of the happiest days as a Brewer fan was when he left... I don't mean this to be snarky at all, so don't take it that way, but have the Brewers ever had a manager that you've liked? Snarky or not, I don't blindly follow a manger just because he's our manager. To be honest, RRR is the only manager I have ever disliked to the point of ruining my Brewer experience. Yost was close to RRR territory, especially by the end, but RRR was just so damn bad nightly...
  23. So, counting the Elf and SSH Woodruff, we are up to 17 bobbles this year. This kind of crap is what killed the card industry years ago. Just too many to collect...
  24. is this verified?
