  1. How much of Seager's contract will the Mariners be paying?
  2. I'm not sold on Ray, not in the least. Is it feasible that Houser could be at least as good as Ray?
  3. True, very true, but how about a happy medium? It has been a very underwhelming off season as far as free agency goes. Yes, we have made some moves, none of which are sexy to the average fan. I still believe that we are going to acquire a real 3B, more than likely some out of left field trade, but when we cleared all that cash, I really thought we'd land one big name guy. I'm still holding out all judgement until I see what the entire off season brings us.
  4. How about a one year "prove yourself" contract. Assuming of course he can play a serviceable 1B. If he can't play 1B, and I've never seen anything saying he could, then I'd have no interest. 1 year 4 - 5 million.
  5. https://reviewingthebrew.com/2019/12/17/brewers-offseason-trouble/
  6. I wonder if Braun will want to come back for a year, in a limited role, and a much lesser paycheck? We can't completely rule that out if he is willing to come back on the cheap.
  7. 0% is a bit of a reach. Without a new 3B, we are currently looking at Urias starting at 3B and Arcia at SS. Things will change I'm sure, but 0% chance is a risky bet.
  8. How much is Archer's contract? I saw his name and immediately gagged.
  9. Yes, fair enough, but wishing financial security for a pro athlete who has been in the business as long as he has just came off as comical to me. I'm sure he has provided security for generations...
  10. I feel that is wishful thinking and downplaying a team that is 100% on the upswing. We are no longer battling just the Cubs and Cardinals, the Reds are going to have a say in the 2020 season, even if so many here choose to believe they will be the same old Reds. They got a bunch of hype last year too, and did nothing with it. My view on the Reds is that they are bad until they prove they aren't. A few acquisitions added to a disjointed team doesn't earn them anything. Then we will agree to disagree. They may not win the division (but could), but they are going to make it tougher on the rest of us by winning more games.

  13. lol If his family isn't secure by now, he has done something really wrong.
  14. ok, well, if that is true, that does it... Not going to be a Brewer.
  15. Not sure if this is the reason, but Gio struggled to go deep into games. Only once completed six innings (that being said, it was against the Cubs). Well, that was mostly because CC pulled him. Not saying he should go more than 5, but saying he struggled to go deep in games isn't entirely accurate.
  16. Not if you want someone who can actually play 3rd base it’s not..... https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/ryan-braun-is-willing-to-play-wherever-the-brewers-want-him-including-second-base/ If the options are Braun at third, trading for Kyle Seager (and not getting any big prospects like Sheffield or Dunn because the Mariners are allowed to pick up the salary), or trying to get in on Donaldson... Maybe Braun is the right call. If you need late-inning defense, Arcia comes in at short, Urias slides to third. trolling again?
  17. Which almost certainly means we are out on Donaldson. I don't dislike this signing, not one single bit, but if getting him means we can no longer even consider Donaldson, then this hurts me, inside... If it makes you feel any better, I doubt we were ever really in on Donaldson. Oh, for sure, I realize that, but a guy can dream...

  19. I fear that the Garcia signing takes us out of any chance to sign Ryu or Donaldson.
  20. The longer this goes, the more convinced I am that this isn't going to happen.
  21. Currently rotating between Season 4 of Coach, Season 4 of WKRP in Cincinatti (the final season), and Frasier, season 7. WKRP is one of my favorites of all time. Coach is sometimes just silly, but entertaining. Frasier is classic tv.
  22. The last time I was in Vegas, we went to Freemont street on recommendations from a few different people. I thought it was pretty lame, and wouldn't recommend it. It is great for people watching (if you enjoy watching total and complete freaks of the earth, some of which are more sad than anything else), but other than that, it was just a place to kill time.
  23. Probably true, however, you don't know until it's true.
