  1. This guys scares me. Before his hot month with the Cubs, he wasn't so great, in fact, a disappointment. Are we really willing to stick that kind of cash into a guy who had a hot month in the bigs?
  2. This, IMO, would be just fine to send over for Mr. Narvaez. Yup, agreed. Hill was pretty impressive at times in Appleton last year, but if it means we get to keep Small, Ashby, and Rasmussen, I'm good!
  3. That would really really really really really really blow.
  4. What if it's for Narvaez + Seager? I agree if Omar is the only player headed back, any pitching going to Seattle should not include Ashby or Small - but if one of those guys gets you a good lefty hitting "catcher" and a good lefty hitting MLB 3B (whose contract Seattle would be happy to also lose for payroll relief) for the next three seasons to fill those current gaping holes on the roster, I might be a bit more on board with it. Seager is just a guy, an overpaid guy. I do not, under any circumstance, want Small or Ashby traded for a no defense all offense catcher. I like the idea of getting Narvaez to pair up with Manny, but not at the expense of our future TOR guys. We can't compete financially for the ACE free agent types, we have to grow our own, and trading them for a one trick catcher would be asinine................................imo.

  6. Trading Ashby and/or Small would be a crushing blow. we need to grow our own pitching as free agency has always proven we are not in on the big name guys. A club like the Brewers has to keep their big gun pitchers in the minors if they have any chance of finding that true ACE/TOR guy. If we trade either of Ashby or Small for a poor defensive catcher, I'm not going to be happy...............................at all.
  7. So much for the "We will never get back together and tour again" nonsense from Motley Crue. I used to love those guys, but Vince Neil is fat and has no voice left. He can't even remember the lyrics to his own songs anymore live. I choose to remember them from their glory days, and seeing them now would taint that memory...
  8. agreed, that contract could cripple us if he doesn't work out. glad it wan't us taking that risk.
  9. I'm on the wait and see bandwagon, however, with so many people banging the "there is plenty of time, there is no need to panic, it's early" drum, what will all of them say if we miss out and are stuck with a guy like Trumbo at 1B and Todd Frazier at 3rd? (Those are just examples, not specifically mentioning those guys because I think they are the guys we will sign) What if we get no front line starting pitchers (highly likely no matter what camp you are in) and are stuck with a rotation of 4 and 5 type starters outside of Woodruff? No matter what anyone says, even if saying for the 1000th tiime that it is still early in the offseason, we might still be severely disappointed in what takes the field for our beloved Brewers on opening day 2020.
  10. Would rather just sign Rendon, and keep all the prospects that it would take to get Arenado.
  11. It would be a mistake to use Lutz as a throw in. No need to add anyone in a Hader deal, he is the premier reliever in MLB, trade him and keep the prospects if at all possible. (not that I want to trade Hader to begin with, just sayin)
  12. Ryu is a walking injury. For the kind of coin he is going to get, with his injury history, I'd pass...
  13. UGH! None of those players are a needle mover for a team with a weak offense trying to get to the playoffs. Kendrick, maybe, the rest are guys who are just guys...
  14. I mean, it is kinda true...it’s a silly article to write before the winter meetings though. Real silly. Sadly, most of that article is true, except for the part about Arcia being penciled in as our starting 3B... True today, December 3rd, but hopefully, not true on opening day. Lots of off season left. Lots of things can and will be happening...
  15. Keep Hiura and pray for the NL DH in 2021...
  16. Oh my... That is too much money for a guy who in year 3, 4 and 5 could be Suppan like... yuk.
  17. That all depends on what their offensive line-up looks like. I'm inclined to say no though...
  18. Well, since the general tone of this board is to take any player available and put them at 1B, even if they have never played the position in their entire life, can Scooter play 1B? (maybe this should be in light blue since I don't really mean it, or do I?)
  19. Well, we hear all the time that this is a business. Loyalties, etc., no longer matter. It's all about the $$$$. If a player is non-tendered, and the best offer they get is from the team that dumped them, I think most would return. After-all, this is a business...
  20. 8 spot? True, but he is currently our lead-off. (or was anyway)
  21. That’s the problem... you’ll likely get ‘okay boomer’ responses to your ideas if a younger person doesn’t agree with it. Absolutely! Especially since I missed the Boomer cut by 1 year.
  22. I just complied the list of players that are not going to be with the team in 2020. (Those who had big roles in 2019, yes I know Nelson didn't play much of a role, but I added him too) Until I saw it typed out, it didn't hit me as to how different this team is going to be next season. It's astounding how many guys are gone from the 2019 squad. Have we ever had turnover like this before? Grandal Moustakas Thames (has a realistic shot at being resigned) Shaw Saladino Perez Grisham Anderson Davies Lyles (also could possibly be resigned) Claudio Nelson Guerra Pomeranz Jackson
  23. Understood, but that can go both ways. "Boomers" might be sick and tired of the younger generation telling them their thoughts and opinions just as much as the youngsters are sick of the old people's. A lot of Millennials come off as holier than thou when it comes to what they think they know as fact. It's just a vicious circle in the end. lol I'm an Xer, I have no skin in this game.
  24. It's dangerous to assume that Thames will be back. Not too long ago, many here assumed we'd be the ones to bring back Moose, didn't happen. Until we ink Thames, I don't think we can assume he will be in the fold.
  25. Encarnacion would be a much better get than Batista imo.
