  1. I think Thames WAS awful, and will not be sad to see him go. We just don't have anyplace for the guy to play.
  2. I'm not going to defend this creep in any way, but that slide does not look dirty at all. In fact, he looks like he pulled back when his foot contacted Pedroia. Still can't stand him though. Punk.
  3. Agree on this, I felt the same way about Santana. Players, most anyway, are most productive when they see regular at bats. Starting every other day, or once or twice a week, for most guys isn't going to see production.
  4. Geez, what a blow............................that blows!
  5. Brewers infield prospect Mauricio Dubon (knee) is on track to be ready for the start of spring training. Dubon tore the ACL in his left knee in May while playing in a game for Triple-A Colorado Springs and was forced to miss the remainder of the 2018 season. The 24-year-old had a shiny .343 batting average and .922 OPS in 114 plate appearances with the Sky Sox before suffering that injury. He's racked up 117 stolen bases in 486 minor league games. 6. Brewers general manager David Stearns was non-committal Tuesday when asked if the club will tender a contract to Jonathan Schoop. "That's a discussion we're going to have to continue to have over the next several weeks to a month," said Stearns. Schoop, 27, struggled with a .202/.246/.331 batting line and just four homers over 46 games after being acquired from the Orioles at the trade deadline. He made $8.5 million in 2018 and is eligible for a raise in arbitration this winter before hitting free agency after 2019. The Brewers would surely field interest on the trade market before considering a non-tender. Source: Adam McCalvy on Twitter Oct 23 - 3:22 PM
  7. Brewers GM David Stearns confirmed Tuesday that Josh Hader will remain in the bullpen in 2019. Hader worked as a starter in the minors, but he has absolutely flourished in a relief role at the major league level, posting a 2.30 ERA, 0.876 WHIP, and 211 strikeouts across his first 129 innings with the Brewers. This announcement by Stearns comes as no surprise. Source: Adam McCalvy on Twitter Oct 23 - 4:02 PM
  8. True... I rode an elevator with him in LA back in the day. I had the girls I was with ask him to sign a ticket stub for me after we got off the elevator, he was very friendly.
  9. 100% agreement. We have never had a player with this level of punkiness on our roster before. Hope we never do. Got any examples of him trying to hurt other players?
  10. I'm confused by this post... Broxton is an outfielder, Henry is a catcher.
  11. Not wise in our current situation to have another massive injury risk on the team for the kind of $ it would cost to get him. Imagine he and Braun eating up 40 million of our total salary and both hitting the DL 3 or 4 times each season. Nope. Plus, he's old. Hard pass for me.
  12. I agree. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. I was just killing a couple hours and thought it would be ok. One thing bothered me in the end, but I won't mention any spoilers.
  13. The Yankees spend with Monopoly money. I predict he'll be a Yankee next year. yup, makes perfect sense. Didi is out for what seems to be the majority of next season, and they have endless cash to spend. If not the Yankees, I can also see the Cubs as a player.
  14. They won't. Agreed, he'll get his, then the team that pays him can deal with his crap...
  15. 100% agreement. We have never had a player with this level of punkiness on our roster before. Hope we never do.
  16. Braun paid his price and doesn't do the kind of stuff Machado does on the field. Morgan is a nut case but basically harmless. I don't recall Gomez trying to purposely kick an opponent in the ankle. I for one am glad we don't have that creep on our roster. LA can have him. 100% agreement. We have never had a player with this level of punkiness on our roster before. Hope we never do.
  17. That is a given. Coach Cooper would have none of the shenanigans that Machado pulled, NONE of them!
  18. Suter was also proving very valuable until his Tommy John. Was he? I thought I remembered him starting to struggle quite a bit before his injury...
  19. EXACTLY! Which is why he deserves some retaliation, even though we all know that is not the Brewer way...
  20. Bad Times at the El Royal was very entertaining... It had a Hateful Eight feel to it, but was not a western in any way. Also really enjoyed Quiet Place. I'm not a horror movie guy, and this wasn't a horror movie imo, but some were labeling it that way.
  21. Making excuses for guys like Machado doesn't sit well with me. His behaviors are never acceptable. I would hate to have a punk like that on my team, it would be impossible to root for him, under any circumstance.
  22. I'm going to bet we get a TOR arm via trade. If not, a solid #2 type.
  23. I hadn't heard that. I guess if that's the case then I'm for just leaving him where he's at. I guess it's not the full blown endorsement of relieving that I remember but still sounds to me like a preference: “I’m just trying to stay here and pitch as long as I can in the big leagues. If that’s starting or relieving, I’m in for whatever. They said I’ll stay with the role I had. I like coming in late in games but anything works for me as long as I’m able to pitch. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2018/01/28/notes-brewers-decide-leave-left-hander-josh-hader-relief-role-outset-season/1070177001/ That was just him saying what he thought he should be saying. What he really thinks, we may never know.
  24. He was practically useless down the stretch, and during the playoffs, just plain didn't show up and looked awful.
