Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Astros and Cardinals are the two teams "that have had the most meaningful discussions" with the Diamondbacks regarding a Paul Goldschmidt trade. Rosenthal cautions that "no deal is close" and talks are "not yet advanced," but it looks like Houston and St. Louis could be the early favorites to land the six-time All-Star. Goldschmidt is slated to earn $14.5 million next season before entering free agency next winter. It's obviously going to take a big package to land him even though he's only under team control for one year. Goldy rebounded from a slow start to finish with a .290/.389/.533 and 33 home runs in 2018. Source: Ken Rosenthal on TwitterNov 19 - 9:33 PM
Another food item for a mascot? I am not a fan of all the new hip nicknames in minor league baseball. Seems all these teams are trying to hard to be cute... Also not fond of the new color schemes I have been seeing across the leagues...
Possibly. The Yankees need to add a lot more than just Paxton to their pitching staff to catch up with the Red Sox (in my opinion) Don't worry, they aren't done yet...
MLB.com's Jon Morosi reports that the Marlins are insisting that Kyle Tucker or Forrest Whitley be part of any trade package they get from the Astros for J.T. Realmuto. Tucker and Whitley are both considered top-10 prospects in all of baseball, but it's no surprise that the Marlins would insist on netting one of them for Realmuto. The 27-year-old is coming off a season in which he sported a .277/.340/.484 batting line with 21 home runs and 74 RBI. He's under team control for two more seasons. Source: MLB.comNov 16 - 8:50 AM
Oh that's true. I didn't have air conditioning in my dorm. You think that would fly nowadays? No chance. You can probably say the same thing about health care - not anywhere near the only reason for the astronomical costs but it has an impact. My kids didn't have air conditioning or the option of air conditioning at UWSP (he graduated in 2018) or UWEC (she's a senior now). I don't think all the state schools offer AC in their dorms.
Syndergaard's value has not peaked yet. Once he plays a full season, the sky's the limit, but there are health concerns with him, and because of that, he has yet to peak.
Man, all the talk on the boards of trading Hiura... Hate to see it. This is a guy that could be our cornerstone for a decade and so many people want to include him in a 1 or two year rental trade? No thanks. I'd rather be patient, and watch this kid pay immense dividends in the very near future.
I highly doubt we could get Realmuto for Ray, Perlata and Diplan. I'm sure we'd already have him if we could. Seriously? I don't think they could accept that offer fast enough. I hope we do not make that kind of an offer. I would be pretty disappointed.
Down to $15 now, hats too! I think I'm going to place an order. They may go down to $10 at some point, but I'm going to make sure I get one or two now.
There might be players that are scheduled to play in the World Series getting awards. Not the best time to do it if we'd expect those players to be at an awards ceremony the night before the World Series is to start.
