  1. Same. It would be fooloish to trade him for a rental, or anyone else at this point.
  2. Burnes looks ready for the big boys. I just don't understand why he is being tossed into a bull pen role when our starters have not looked impressive for a while now.
  3. The question I have is this: Why are we trying to turn Burnes into a bull pen guy this year when we desperately need a starter? I know we need bull pen help, ALWAYS, but wouldn't it have made some sense to give him a start or 2 before switching gears with him?
  4. That’s why I think Stearns will do something during the ASB. or, maybe he shouldn't...
  5. You only know that one or 2 of Shaw, Yelich and Cain will not be playing in game 2... Sounds negative, but I can easily see losing both today, and being down by 2 games in the Central for the all-star break. *sigh*
  6. Watch this mess of a line up for game one, or clean the garage? Clean the garage and listen on the radio? Ok, sounds like a plan.
  7. Doesn't matter how well he pitches if we can't score runs. Offense needs to step up today, both games.
  8. Yelish… ??? I would think the board's only "REAL" fan would know how to spell his name correctly.
  9. Actually, I didn't say "If you don't like it, leave" what I said was "If you don't like the atmosphere here, no one is making you show up." Do what you want, it's your time... If it's so bad, and beneath you, why bother?
  10. Not good news for fans that want Machado. The Phillies have two near-ready starters in Ranger Suarez (currently in AAA) and Enyel De Los Santos (already had a MLB appearance) who have both been impressive this year. No definitive report that the Phillies are willing to give up Medina, Suarez or De Los Santos. But if the Phillies would be willing to package Medina plus one of the other two, then the Brewers would probably have to upgrade to Burnes and either Ponce or Supak just to remain in talks with Baltimore. ...and if that was the case, I hope the Brewers are out!
  11. You can't dictate people views, feelings, or reactions. If you don't like the atmosphere here, no one is making you show up. I enjoy the ups and downs in the IGT thread. It's a great place to vent, and celebrate with like minded people. If it gets too much, I check out for a while... I always have the option of being here, and if it brought me down, I certainly wouldn't spend any time here.
  12. Sometimes I find it really hard to balance. It's such a long season and every team goes through their peaks and valleys, but I also think that the 2014 collapse really did a number on me. I would say we have a ton more talent than that team did, but I'll never forget the frustration of watching it slip away bit by bit. Same thing last year, which to me was even worse...
  13. You have to take the good with the bad on these in-game threads. 3 or 4 years ago these in-game threads were one of the best parts of this message board. The conversation was insightful and clever and people really didn't over react to the ebb and flow of individual games like many do now. That isn't necessarily a bad thing... But I do agree with you that the immaturity grinds on you at times. I mainly come here if I miss something live and need an update on an injury or a play or something. Otherwise it is hard for me to stomach the "youthful" turn these in game threads have taken... I am far from youthful, but maybe you should consider not being here if it bugs you so much... Posts like yours makes you sound holier than thou, and you are not the first to make such posts. These game threads are what they are, but ripping on the people who show up every night to converse about this team is pretty low.
  14. Junior may have to gut this out and get through 5, regardless of the score. Man this is tough to watch. Is it too early for Perez or Kratz to take the mound?
  15. Brent Suter (forearm) will be activated from the disabled list to start one of the games during Saturday's doubleheader in Pittsburgh. Suter threw a successful bullpen session Wednesday, clearing the way for his return. The left-hander has missed most of this month with tightness in his left forearm. 16. So, does this mean we save our bullpen tonight for the DH tomorrow? Unless Guerra gives us 8 tonight, we will need all hands on deck tomorrow for 2 games. Does this mean that CC lets Guerra go too long tonight in trying to save arms for tomorrow? Not liking the feel of this series one single bit.
  17. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Phillies have increased their trade offer for Manny Machado. However, Rosenthal adds that the Dodgers' and Yankees' offers for Machado "remain strongest." The Brewers, who had been seen as one of the favorites to land Machado, are "fading," according to Rosenthal, with the Diamondbacks also "on periphery." Things can change quickly during trade season, of course, so it's certainly no slam dunk that the slugger likely winds up either with the Dodgers or Yankees. Things seem to be trending toward Machado being dealt well before July 31. Source: Ken Rosenthal on Twitter Jul 13 - 1:40 PM
  18. Oh the bobblehead opportunities for next year... *yikes*
  19. It feels like if we do not hit HRs, we do not score. We rely heavily on the long ball, but hey, CHICKS DIG THE LONG BALL!
  20. With the top of the order coming up, there should have been a run there. Except with Thames at the top of the order it is not a typical top of the order. He is a huge K risk and that experiment should really be over. With Cain back, Thames should not see the leadoff spot again, but here we are, and he continues to do so. I can see Thames at leadoff if the bottom of our order typically get on base enough to say Thames will then be able to knock them in. That isn't the case, so Thames at leadoff serves no purpose.
  21. Why are we the only ones to know this ahead of time? Can't CC figure this out himself. It is maddening...
